  1. Well, there's an arguement to be made that we haven't beaten any of the big clubs and are therefore still nothing special. That would be an absolute bollox of an argument though, we are quite clearly fecking brilliant.
  2. That's the best one we've ever had and I've still got mine. Always regretted giving mine away back in the day so bought a replacement off ebay a couple of years back. Great shirt.
  3. Way to much confidence going into a game at Old Trafford. We'll get bummed. Royally.
  4. Great news about Sherwood. Have a lovely afternoon.

It doesn't really matter whether it was down to the Carroll sale or not (though I'd be surprised if the money didn't allow us a greater freedom or flexibility when it came to bringing in players or negotiating contracts over the summer). We seem to have improved, and if we do that more often than not when we lose a big player I'm not going to get too concerned about the clubs actual spending.

The forced simplicity of your question is pretty ludicrous. All i'm saying is that I'd be perfectly happy with us losing Tiote if we subsequently improved. If that was down to us reinvesting the money then great, if not... then great. Money goes into the club, money goes out, isolating particular income as being special seems fairly pointless with all due respect.

I dont see the point in criticising, the clubs current policies whatever they may be, cause whatever the fuck they do its working. Let them get on with it, you enjoy watching the football. If everything turns from gold into shit, complain then. Spot on. Tiote should stay, and I suspect he will stay. But if he doesn't, whether it's down to money, or down to the player himself wanting the move, so be it. If that results in us going backwards then we'll all have an issue with it. If not, I don't see the problem, regardless of whether we choose to spend any profits.
  8. Surprising stuff. I think that's at least on a par with any of his Ranger comments and possibly the toughest he's been against one of our own players.
  9. No. Plenty of people would just say that that was the plan all along, they were in cahoots with Ashley, and they'd be paying for £10m a year for something they get no brand benefit from, bar 1 weeks worth of 'world wide news' if that.
  10. Bet against us every week, even stick a bet on a draw as well if I think that'd be a bad result. If the fates hand us a crappy result then some beer money should help soften the blow, but mainly I just stick on as much as I feel comfortable with losing because it'll guarentee us a win in my mind. Lost a metric ton load this season. Delighted.

Good luck to the lad, hope he gets a chance to get a few games and goals down there.
  12. Ha, I celebrated way too excitedly when Ba scored there.

There is no vice captain. I believe Pardew said something along the lines of - there should be one captain on the pitch, and many more off it.
  14. Pretty sickening news to wake up to. Not simply because we're losing money on the deal, but it just feels like another local icon being tossed onto the scrapheap.

Pardew has said he will never play out wide for him. He also said Carroll won't be sold, that we'd sign a striker in the last few weeks of the summer etc etc. If s*** hits the fan and we end up with two strikers who are both doing well but without a right winger, he'd be utterly daft not to play him there. Aye, its exactly the same You're right it's not the same. Pardew did though to be fair, actually say he'd not be playing him right wing... 'probably'.
  16. Can't remember if it was during last season or post season, but I read a lot of Celtic boards and posted a cross section of opinion on Foster over here. I believe the general feeling ranged from, possibly worth a punt for a maximum of £1-2m to others who agreed with the lacking bravery angle and were pretty unimpressed. He may have improved since then though, fingers crossed.
