  1. He's already stated numerous times that he thinks he made 'the right move (but only) in the circumstances he found himself in'. He's said again and again that he didn't want to leave, that the fans wanted him, the other players wanted him and the manager wanted him - just the board that didn't want him. The fans, the other players and the manager certainly wanted him.... if he'd just get his head down and shut the fuck up. Not a chance that was going to happen though.

    Nile Ranger

True. Hope to hell he does though, it's just lose lose for all of us if he misses another chance and remains a massive facepalm. For the last fkn time..... Coooomon Nile.
  3. So we were the only club not to have it...and when we tried to get it...Barton recons that's an issue/railroading? So we wanted to be like every other club with regards to this Doesn't make sense. What am I missing? Reads to me like the players would not sign because they felt they were being misled in some way on it. And in refusing, they did something nobody else had ever done. Sounds about right. I seem to remember it getting to the point where the players and hierarchy were not communicating after the players didn't get the last lot of payments because they failed to meet some of the conditions. That probably led them to refusing to sign this seasons bonus contract. In the end though Pardew opened up the channels of communication again and Ashley quickly paid the players and everyone was happy again. Apart from Barton and his grudge apparently.
  4. Oh aye, all that said, I agree with you there.
  5. It does nothing of the sort. I had no problem with us giving up on him, he is disruptive and we are no doubt better off without him. But beyond that he seems to me a decent, principled (if often misguided) bloke with, as he admits himself, a massive ego. Fair play to you, I guess you see something I don't that makes him a 'shit of a man', and I'm sure he can take the disgustingly aggressive stuff thrown at him and other players by the likes of this 'Leazeslad', but I'm still at a loss to understand it.
  6. Eh, there's no semis, only quarters? Ah man, you're right. Oh well, should still be decent. /didn't realise i'd be charged £6 delivery either. Cheeky cnuts.
  7. Bar 1892 due to the shitness of its atmosphere.
  8. Well, got a few for the Semi's. No idea how long it'll take before they sell out, so get 'em while they're hot.
  9. Heads up! Anyone for 2012 Olympic tickets? http://www.tickets.london2012.com/browse?form=search&tab=oly&sport=8213&event=&venue=26&fromDate=&toDate=&morning=1&afternoon=1&evening=1&show_available_events=1 Obviously you can search for other venues too etc...
  10. Roll up, roll up. Tickets still available apparently! http://www.tickets.london2012.com/browse?form=search&tab=oly&sport=8213&event=&venue=26&fromDate=&toDate=&morning=1&afternoon=1&evening=1&show_available_events=1
  11. Yes, he wasn't. They both watched the Stoke game together, Gary headed home and Shearer headed over to OT.
  12. You support Chelsea? Just the facts ma'am.
  13. We haven't beaten any of the six around or above us. We lack any capable fit centerback cover or striker cover you'd have confidence in scoring regularly.
  14. Sustained. Absolute nonsense. Hang on, Ferguson questioning the status of his part-time job doesn't give rise to his primary profession? Yeah, right. Yes, that's right. What he does as his primary profession, unless it is football related, has no bearing on whether Ferguson has a right to question why we are still using part time Linesmen. Ryders tweet is Sun or Mail standard dislocated emotional wummery at its finest.

  16. Not even sure who Jose was trying to hit with that pass.

    Alan Pardew

Bit harsh, I was hurting but saw him as a good and slightly unfortunate manager who had something about him at least. Hughtons dismissal, and Pardews appointment has made this on a par with when Souness was anounced, but I have a damn sight more faith in how Pardew goes about getting a team to play decent football and as a character, than I ever had for Souness. ...and I was far from the only one. Plenty more were willing to give him a fair chance. That said we were all a bit all over the place at the time (I'm sure I called him worse than shit before he was appointed), hindsight's a bitch.
  18. I'd like to think, and am almost certain that he wasn't.
  19. I don't get the anger at a website not being one of the first to update. It's a Sunday and I have no problem if they take their time to get it right. 5Live have read out a full statement from the club.
  20. Deserves grief. Besides not being terribly similar to Tiote, nobody here has a clue what we are likely to do in January or how a players form in November might affect things. Ah right, might be best to close the forum down then if we can't discuss hypotheticals. It was a rotten hypothetical, on a par with fearing Tiote's new satellite installation may cause him a sprained arse. Why is it so different from the Carroll sale and Best's subsequent form? 'We coped perfectly fine then, why not cash in again?' No, you're right it's not, you have every right to worry and discuss. I'll just stick my head in the sand and enjoy these players playing well while they're here (before they both depart at some point in the future, as all our players inevitably will).

  23. Pretty sure I could cope more with Perch than Williamson in a midfield role.
  24. Already turned it over, what did he say? If they play like that every week, he'll be very very happy. I think we can take that as a bit of a compliment.
