    Alan Pardew

And from the Chron - “There was talk of Liverpool and Arsenal, but Newcastle were the club who made the move for me, and I really like Alan Pardew’s strategy and how he told me he wants to play. “I heard of other interest, but I didn’t hesitate for one second to join Newcastle because they have an ambitious project.” Good to see Pardew selling the club well. "Well Arsenal have got Fabregas so you'll not play there, Liverpool have just spunked £20m on Henderson...you can get in ahead of Guthrie mind."

    Geordie Pride

Has to play a part. The club was a constant buzz in the background, socially, and from the blanket coverage in the local rags. It very much felt for me that it was your team, your area, against other town/cities teams. Now the constant exposure of other teams and pretty much knowing every inch of the top 4 players lives has to dilute that bond to a degree. Still think kids dream of turning out for the club, but maybe the romanticism has been somewhat displaced by a degree of open eyed pragmatism, and perhaps a more worldly outlook in terms of career choices now.
  4. I'd accept missing out on the player if he crashed it on the way. What an entirely miserable thing to say. /Undoubtedly misplaced, but somehow still have hopes on us getting Gameiro. http://www.idnetters.co.uk/forums/Smileys/custom/fingers_crossed2.gif

    Season Tickets

Nice one, just hope you aren't surrounded by too many grumpy sods.
  6. No, Newcastle United. What was the smiling nodding face for, sorry I didn't get it? Could it.... could it have been a smug 'told you we were too shit for him' smiley? I'm betting it was! I'm betting it was a smug 'told you we were too shit for him' smiley.

    Season Tickets

Heads up reminder from the fine folks at HUKD - 6,500 SEASON TICKETS FOR £100 (fert kids) http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/6-500-newcastle-utd-season-tickets-for-100-each-junior-10th-june/954990#comments
  8. We've got to convince them to come here first. Perhaps Sunderland are more realistic about what they can attract. A fair point.
  9. The greatest South Korean, after Ban Ki MOON ... and that's only cos of his name. The fuck!?!
  10. Thing is that that is exactly the same as he said a few months ago - nothing's changed. He said that he was contracted for 5 years and was happy to be here for the 5 years. It is now simply down to the club whether goes the full five or we try and get a little money for him now. I'd be tempted to plump for the latter now if 'm honest.
  11. Yeah, was about to comment on that rather massive flaw in the article.

  13. Just the 26 pages back: http://www.newcastle-online.org/nufcforum/index.php/topic,74307.msg2968407.html#msg2968407 ...to a different set of 'quotes'.
  14. Oh, wait, hold your fucking horses. He does want to come, and we're happy to double his wages. http://www.dailystar.co.uk/football/view/194966/Charles-N-Zogbia-to-snub-Liverpool-for-Toon-return/? But a source close to N’Zogbia said: “Charles never really wanted to leave. It was Kinnear he fell out with, not Newcastle. “He has kept in touch with several of his former team-mates and told them he would love to go back. “And while he has never worked for Alan Pardew, he knows his No.2 John Carver very well. “In fact, it was John who gave him his Premier League debut when he was caretaker-manager. “He thoroughly enjoyed his time there, loves the city and would jump at the chance of pulling on the shirt again.
  15. Happy with that. We'll get to see if he can step up, and if he looks the business but the bara brith botherers go down, we'll be his first choice!
  16. He just pays the managers far more than a club like Fulham should be paying. Jol isn't going to achieve anything other than a nice salary and a London address. Waste of a good manager but then if he's happy with putting his feet up good luck to him. Can see them finishing in the top seven next season. At the expense of whom? Everton?
  17. Hmm, I too like the Jol, but wish no luck on Fulham whatsoever.
