Where is the notion that he is waiting to see who we sign before he does coming from? The only thing we know for certain is that discussions on a new contract were put on hold until the end of the season, not the start of next season which would be the case in your scenario.

The badge the bloke has on his shirt is wearing a San Lorenzo one by the looking of it. His dad was a pro & played for them so I'd imagine it's him, putting 2 and 2 together. www.fotolog.com/boedo_1908/14803817 for a photo of a young Colo with his pa. Brilliant. Now I have diabetes.

Heh, top of the page says it's happening on the twelfth. Ok so far, nothing very direct regarding his future, etc. He says that he doesn't want to leave the PL for Spain unless it's for a top team, though. He praises the PL a lot and says he wants to keep playing in England (which since he's talking to Spanish readers means something). Also says that it's very hard to make the Spanish squad playing abroad unless you're in a big team, but he hopes to get his reward in time if he keeps doing things well. And this is the problem we can't solve. If he does go, I'm almost certain it will be down to this rather than an unhappiness regarding any wage issues, or our ambitions for next season. even though he keeps mentioning our need to bring in players? I think what I'm trying to say is that I reckon his pimary concern is that he's is getting to the age now that if he doesn't start pushing for an International cap now, he never will, and if there were stronger indications that he could get into the Spaninsh side without being in a Champions League team or heading back to Spain, then there would be much less hesitation signing a new contract (regardless of the players we might bring in).

Fat mike will make them pay though He'll get at least 10 mil off someone How many left backs have gone for 10 mil + 60k a week. That's a big outlay for someone with faults If you think Ashley will hold out for £10m for a player who can walk away for free in 12 months time you've got a different idea of Ashley's resistance to offers than I have. This is the same bloke who sold N'Zogbia and Bassong for the first decent offer he got despite the fact they were two fo our best young players being held back by aged decrepit shite who couldn't negotiate a free transfer to the J-league. If Jose is set on leaving now or talking to clubs in december in advance of walking away on a free, then I'd happily take just £4 - £5m for him now tbh and get someone else in. Not that I'd ever want him to leave, love him to bits. But saying in his interview that he came here for 5 years, and always said he'd be here for 5 years, and that this was his last year, well... that doesn't bode well. I think it all boils down to whether we can somehow persuade him that the national team will suddenly start picking players outside of the top 4 in the prem. If they did, which we all know they fkn don't at present, I don't doubt that he'd be happy enough to stay. Same with Colo regarding Argentina if he continues to get looked over.

Love Carrolls surprise.

Nah, it's oldschool.

equally by a number of our fans. Change the record man, you're boring as fuck. Don't worry, our PR department are already working on him being made out to be a 'Judas'.

Going to have to check out the gold patch in person. No doubt a bit of a one off but looks well odd in the pics.

Damn that launch video. BEN ARFA CLEARLY WANTS TO LEAVE.

Yeah, says if he has to go to another league, he's happy. Will just go wherever he can to play football but he's happy right now. Anyone worked out when the interview was? Assuming it was at the start of this season. A month or so ago, or at least not that long before the teaser trailer would be my guess.

Shane Ferguson is the real deal according to Simpson. @shane_fergie

West Ham agree fee in region of £15m with Liverpool for Andy Carroll
BottledDog replied to Pilko's topic in Football
No. Still, pointedly clapping the Bin Dippers is not going to be appreciated either. -
He he, not sure.... I remember Billy Askew and his long curly ginger mop too, and he wasn't great. Paul Sweeney too - not the most gifted full back! Hopefully that young ginger kid (Richardson?) we have now will come good, and break the curse! Cris Holland was a ginge wasn't he? Had so much hope for the lad, and he had a few cracking games for us before that eye injury. Pretty devastating, and don't think he ever reached the heights he could have.

But then, play it 'safe', and you could spend £50 million on a striker (or keep your £35 million rated striker) and for one reason or another they stop producing the goods and you're left with Lovenkrands. -
Seemed more about Ashleys direction for the club rather that focusing on Pardew. Either way, a positive enough piece coming from her.

Liverpool v NUFC Pre-match thread (01/05/2010 - 12 KO)
BottledDog replied to Beren's topic in Football
Of own goals, then he pledges his allegiance to Liverpool. That's actually the kind of thing I dream about before games. I dreamt not long ago we signed Balotelli & after he signed, not only did he refuse to play for us at all, but he would go and watch every one of our games and actively cheer for our opposition. Magical stuff. Doesn't sound too far fetched considering. -
No, it's all good. You only missed out on a snippet of the interview which is on next monday.

it is a good post, but it glosses over the issue which strikes at the absolute heart of what the club is about now. that is, that we replaced a very well performing manager who was popular with players and fans, with a man who had very little reason to be hired other than he didn't deserve the position and therefore was more likely to agree to demands placed upon him on transfer policy. and my oh my, weren't we all shocked when carroll went in january. yes the money was massive, yes its a great deal if you put the money back into the team PLUS the money that should have been due to be invested anyway. but the chain of events is as plain as day imo, would anyone be surprised if the big debate in the winter is whether we were right to accept a massive bid for tiote on deadline day? Surely you don't really think Hughton was sacked because he could prevent Ashley pulling off deals like the Carroll one? prevent, no. be opposed to, or try and make himself an obstacle against, yes. we all want an easy life. Hughton said he would have sold Carroll ffs. Why not refuse to rule out Beckham? The only players you refuse to rule out, and the only players Pardew has ruled out are ones either so off the radar as to be ridiculous, or are rumours that add disharmony to players already at the club - which he has done recently in reply to the persistant stories regarding our interest in another goalkeeper. The carroll thing is him being a puppet? For heavens sake, that reflects badly both on himself and the board now that they have sold him. The only reason for him to deny any sale was that he genuinlty felt nobody would be mad enough to put in an offer that Keegan, Hughton, Shepherd and every other commentator out there have said it would be foolish to turn down. He has not to my knowledge said 'running of the football club'. If you can find that quote then grand, but all I heard him say was that it would be put towards transfers and salaries, which relates solely to the playing staff. Criticising Ranger (while also praising him) does not strike me as terrible management in the slightest considering Ranger himself has come out and said he recognises the need to buck up his ideas. Every manager we have had at this football club has given rough dates players may return. Big fkn deal. Now, you have said that these are only things of the top of your head and intimate that there are even more upsetting things he has come out with. You have had some time to think about it now, so what are they?
