  1. That does, even now, actually help quite a bit.
  2. Mike could quite easily have said, No, Andrew, I will not allow you to leave, your transfer request is refused. This is not unheard of in the world of professional football. Wonder why Liverpool didn't try that cunning plan with Torres.
  3. If that were the case, it puts Carroll in an even worse light.
  4. from danwalkerbbc Makes no sense at all. None whatsoever. "Shit, looks like the club are going to sell me. :-( QUICK! Hand in a trasfer request!"
  5. And he'd only accept such a condition if he was the one desperate for the move to go ahead. There is no benifit to him otherwise.
  6. That is the most ridiculous thing I have read yet. He handed in a trasfer request because while he doesn't want to go, he's not bothered about a loyalty fee? Why do it at all then, for shits and giggles?
  7. Would anyone seriously want him to resign (not that he has any reason to)? I sure as hell wouldn't.
  8. When are we going to show ambition on a consistant basis like a top club should?
  9. Why the fuck would the club hawk around our best striker on the last day of the trasfer window, when there is a very real possibility that without him, season ticket sales'll be fucked, everyone'll be kicking off, and and being too late in the day to get in anyone decent, we could go down?
  10. He'll have been paid enough money and signed enough agreements to not come out and set the record straight. Then fuck him, why would you wan't to keep a player happy to sell his soul like that. Because that means that he's no different to 99% of footballers in the world, and he's an excellent footballer and will be hard to replace. I would sell, anyway, but not now. We should have agreed everything and signed all the papers but transferred him over in the summer. Why would Liverpool agree to that, they need him now. As for the bolded bit - I wouldn't choose to sell anyway, now or in the summer, at any price. But then I'm a romantic and had hoped he'd have helped his hometown club, and not have his head turned by the fucking scousers. Once that happened, it's all about getting the most we can for him, which I think we have done. Opposed to your thinking, I don't believe that we forced him out.
  11. Especially when handing in a trasfer request would effectively bar him ever returning. Unfuckingbelievable. It would bar him from partying in Newcastle. Boo fucking hoo. As if that's a big fucking deal. His family will still love him, his mates will still be mates with him, and I bet you that's going to be the case. And no one will give him shit when he's shopping for groceries in Tescos. Look if I ever felt uncomfortable returning to Newcastle it would be absolutely devastating to me, but I did not say that. I was talking about returning to the club he says he loves. Why would he choose to rule that out? He's not. Some of our fans are quite fickle. You think if we start challenging and Liverpool hang around the top 6, their new owners leave and now all of a sudden we make a bid for him, he's going to say no because he's afraid to come back? Or that this scenario is ruled out? He'll be the white knight, coming back to help us go to the CL and win some trophies. And him returning is such an unlikely scenario. The probability of it happening is so miniscule that he'd be an idiot if he took it into consideration during this whole business. Nah, you're right. Fuck the sentiment, fuck the town and anyone who invested faith in him, hand in the trasfer request, and grab the cash. Joy.

  14. Yup. And Carroll is left out to dry, to feel like shit everytime he heads back up for christmas. There is no way I'd do it for a few more £'s.
  15. We rejected an offer to get a price. It's called negotiating. When we got our price, we were willing to sell him, but Ashley didn't want to alienate the fans, which he would have done for the umpteenth time. So he told Carroll to stick a transfer request in, and now he can say 'look, I rejected a bid and he handed a transfer request in so I just made sure Liverpool paid good money for him'. It's PR, man. You're daft if you think this stuff doesn't happen regularly. Why would Carroll, as a Newcastle fan and a Geordie himself, ever agree to that though? Exactly. I wouldn't, you wouldn't. He wouldn't.
  16. Get away with you, Carroll would have no reason to go along with it. Fuck sake you bin dipping cunts.
