Massive. If I was Pardew and I knew his track record I'd be embarrassed... Well, going on that track record, if I were Pardew i'd certainly be worried if Taylor didn't pipe up; but you can't deny he seems to be hitting the right notes with the players and in the press so far. No mean feat considering his starting point, and long may it continue.

So now you can add Taylor to Jose and Simpson. Finally some quotes! “I have been very impressed with the new manager. Since he came in he has been absolutely spot on. Within a day or two of him arriving, he sat me down in his office and made it clear he wants me to be here. He just wants to get the ball rolling. “For me, he has been first class. It was just what I needed. He is a man’s man and I have a lot of respect for him and I know that all the players feel the same way about him. “There was a lot going on when he first arrived and no one really knew how to take him, but from the first time he met us the way he has come across to the players, he has been absolutely unbelievable. “The training sessions have been fantastic and it’s fair to say the players have taken an instant shine to him.” Link: http://www.express.co.uk/ Yes, yes, Saylor is an arselicker etc.. etc..
  3. Finally some quotes! “It has been a difficult year for me with injuries, but it looks as if it could be finishing on a high,” said Taylor, who has now set his sights on Manchester City on Boxing Day after his magnificent performance in the 3-1 demolition of Liverpool. “I have been very impressed with the new manager. Since he came in he has been absolutely spot on. Within a day or two of him arriving, he sat me down in his office and made it clear he wants me to be here. That’s the best possible thing that could have happened to me.” Link: http://www.express.co.uk/

Jose on'Twitter - "Everyone really happy with the new manager. we training hard now and we practice a lot tacticli. Very good" Good to hear.
  5. Be proud lads. What for? We are being charged more coin to watch poorer footballers? I feel like contacting the "Rip off Britain team" on BBC. Poorer footballers? That may be your opinion, but I prefer seeing 'this group of lads' (Tiote, Ben Arfa, Carrol, Nolan, Colo, Ranger etc, etc) to Owen, N'Zogbia, Martins, Duff etc on the pitch by a country fucking mile.
  6. If we do just promote internally where possible, at least they'll have coaches in the first team that have more than a passing idea who they are and whether they can step up I suppose.

    Milburn statue.

Didn't his ball keep getting nicked or something (come to think of it, that may have been when he was on Northumbreland Street)? Could have sworn that was why he was moved to the middle of nowhere. Was dead against it.
  8. Manages to set everything out plainly and without any overbearing bias, and despite the debt etc, it does somehow leave me feeling a smidge positive about the direction we're taking too, which is a fairly surprising bonus. Never read his blog before... will have a look over some of the other posts when I get a chance.
  9. Newcastle United's Finances In Black And White - http://swissramble.blogspot.com/2010/12/newcastle-uniteds-finances-in-black-and.html Pretty impressive/depressing article.

For some reason Ranger in a party hat cracks me up. Thanks Jose!
  11. Yeah, agreed, positive move by us to try and get him up here.
  12. Delighted to have them on board so quickly and without fuss. Good luck to both of them.

One manager I deeply respected, for another manager who I havn't got a clue about (in terms of how he'll manage us), but who knows what'll happen to be honest. It's a sorry change and one I felt we could well do without (possibly because I now fear for us keeping on Ben Arfa, Enrique etc even more than the loss of Hughton), but in the end it's just one manager out, one in. If he managers to keep the players on board, 'm happy to fight the despondancy and give him a chance.
  14. Nah, he's intelligent enough (well he says it himself in his interviews at least), to know that Hughton is held in high regard by both the players and the fans. I think he'd be surprised if Hughtons name wasn't chanted tbf, it's not an attack and we haven't had a chance to voice our farewell to Hughton, or our opinion on his bastard sacking. He'll know it's not an attack on him, and he can earn his own chants down the line hopefully. He'd be rightly worried if it was still being chanted 6 months or a year down the line though.
  15. Because one shows support to a genuinely respected manager who deserves a good send off whilst also being a big fuck you to the actions of the board. The other is telling our new manager to "Fuck off, you cunt". Get it?
  16. Not for me, if anything he was underated for far longer than he should have. Though he was a great all round and intelligent striker.
  17. Hughtons dismissal, and Pardews appointment has made this on a par with when Souness was anounced, but I have a damn sight more faith in how Pardew goes about getting a team to play decent football and as a character, than I ever had for Souness.

Go on, indulge me. What makes you think that?
  19. I tend to agree with this. Shepherd is on the BBC website, going on about how it's our "duty to support the club". It's that attitude that allowed shysters such as him and Ashley to get away with murder. Outside the grounds a different matter, but It's the booing bollocks that gets me. I'm all for chanting Hughtons name and for the players, and having a go at Ashley again for a bit. But booing the new manager does nothing but undermine his authority and helps nobody imho, however dislikable the general view of him is at the mo.

I of course expect them to, but for me, depending on the players state of mind, I'm not worried if some of thoese players miss the game. If he doesn't have them back for the following games though... well then that would mean he can't get even get the players on board, so he'd have no chance with the rest of us.

It's all talk, but fair enough I guess. Thanks for the updates.
