Deadline day approaching: Anything else the cherry on the cake?
BottledDog replied to The Prophet's topic in Football
That's the problem, nobody wants to be just cover. Hopefully Kadar and Perch ("and even Jonas!"- Maradona) can do a job unless Jose gets a long tern injury. -
Yup, even Lerner etc charge interest on their loans, Asley, despite every right to do so, hasn't so far iirc.

Never hated them. Most of the mistakes have been down to naivity, not malice or greed. Their policy of investment and slow growth since nobody took up the invitation for local investment is sound, and their work reinventing the club and getting the right people in place (whether by luck or judgement) and supporting them since the series of fuckups that saw us go down has been admirable. I hope the learning continues, things like the open days are continued and expanded on, and if they still wish to sell up, that the transition is smooth. If they stick with the club though, stay out of the limelight, and don't act like tits and balls it up but help it to become a force again, they will have my full support.

Well done Hughton, Llambias and Ashley. A great bit of negotiation, a great signing.
-
Are people disputing that?
-
Just got to hope they stick out their 3rd/4th team.

Not fussed about Keane in the slightest, especially if it's a straight up fight between him and Ben Afra to get into the team.
-
WTF, do you write for the Sun? " I didn't really know Keegan but he seemed like a nice man. The thing was that he didn't pick me either and I heard that he didn't want me at the club. That didn't come from him because he barely ever spoke to me. " Not twisting anything, just hand picked the juiciest bit. As Kasper points out, hardly the most ringing endorsement of the bloke if he didn't speak to, want to play, keep a hold of one of our best players. Pretty suprised, as I would've assumed Keegan woud have liked Enrique as an attacking full back?
-
Love it that he has only just worked out 'hiya'.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-1306823/Newcastles-Jose-Enrique-admits-Geordie-cleaner-taught-talk-Toon.html Good job Keegan didn't get his way and Jose outlasted him.

Nassim Boukhelifa? United are also among a host of Premier League clubs set to be made aware of the availability of French teenage starlet Nassim Boukhelifa. The 19-year-old fired Lens to the French youth league title but has turned down the club’s repeated offers of a senior contract in the hope of securing a move to England, where his free agent status will hold real appeal. http://www.sundaysun.co.uk/sport/newcastle-utd/2010/07/11/agent-magpies-bid-for-sporting-star-yannick-djalo-79310-26827343/ http://www.stade-lavallois.com/Equipes/professionnels/identite_joueurs/ichane.jpg That's Joachim Ichane.

Yup, plenty of time for other clubs to match/better the offer.
-
Also: That differs with "For all the Tweeters worried about Ben Arfa, the finishing post is definitely in sight. Expect announcement over weekend." tho, which suggests not actually finalised. Exactly, not a done deal yet.

Guys? Can't you read? One guy I think you'll find.
-
It's Anelka's younger brother That's what I thought, well I actually thought "who does he look like, hmmmm that's it Anelka" then scrolled down and saw your post. Weren't we linked with an Algerian defender? Doesn't look like Ben Arfa Prefer my defenders to be taller than 5ft 5". (unless Skirge is on a ladder in that pic) Probably a bad angle to judge his height. But that Algerian defender went to Fulham. Helliche or something. Rafik Halliche

So now that we know Hatem's off to Liverpool. Who is this bloke pictured at the training ground? http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash2/hs191.ash2/45372_10150260822520335_522455334_14614692_4800234_n.jpg
