With the Profitable Group pulling out of the race to buy NUFC due to lack of communication, Mr Moat comes well prepared for his bid for the club.
-
1) How much money would you need to have in the bank before you were willing to buy the club in the first place? (assume club can be purchased for £100m) £105m (just keep £5m for myself and family) 2) Who do you appoint as manager? Shearer for 3 years to prove himself 3) Do you take a hands on approach with the clubs operations, or do you appoint a chief executive? I'd be there at every step, though i'd try and bring in Rick Parry to do the main work 4) Do you appoint a director of football? No 5) How much money per season on transfers? Whatever the club makes the previous season. 6) Who controls how transfer budget is spent? The Manager 7) Do losses (excluding transfer fees) come out of the transfer budget or out of your wallet? Out of the clubs coffers, any serious loss for rebuilding would be put on a loan or i'd initially stump up the costs. 8) What is your overall business plan? To have the club turnover enough money to support itself and to allow it to grow naturally without forcing it and not having the right foundations if it all goes wrong. 9) Would you ever intervene on any issue? Where do you draw the line on intervention? If a player disrespects the club i'd heavily punish them and maybe even list them regardless of the managers feelings. It would be then up to the manager to sort the player out and apologise and double tgheir efforts to get off the list. (keeps manager and players united and i can play the bad guy while the fans feel im taking action) 10) Where do you sit on match days? In the directors box, i'd need to show i can detached myself from the fans and make business decisions, my love for the club would have to take second place. 11) Would you maintain a high or low-profile? Medium. I wouldn't go out of my way to be all look at me, but when necessary i'd be there for the club. 12) How do you respond to the press? I'd be releasing official statements with the help of those around me (rick parry), nothing off the cuff as it may come across Freddie Shepherd. 13) How would you make future managerial decisions? I'd ask advice but i'd be mainly looking towards young managers who've proven themselves in the lower leagues building a rep for themselves, and enough of a rep so that the current players at their ability level respect the new guy. 14) Would there be fan representation on the board? Yes. I'd like the season ticket holders to appoint the rep by voting for candidates, while also the ST holders having votes over other parts of the club, statues, naming of stuff, strips etc... 15) Anything else you'd do? I'd ask Newcastle Brown to be our sponsor again, even if it means taking a hit on money per year, i think we'd make it up in top sales anyway. I'd look at expanding the ground ASAP probably funded like last time (once the attendances pick up again)

Our black power gone. New racist regime at Newcastle!!!!!!
-
Good fee, would have like £3m, but that would have been a fantastic deal. £45k off the wage bill though.
-
Drive?!?!!? We dont have a bus anymore. Ashley is making them cycle down. Joking aside, some of them need the exercise.
-
Shame it's a shit job, lopsided, huge forehead, £600 for that. Ripped.
-
Anyone else suspect he's staying in Newcastle? Where I'm staying doesn't exactly feel long term as where i've moved too. Bent off in a year?
-
How does that work exactly?
-
Toon's Taylor. Hope so, can't see it panning out like that though, like i said, it doesn't make sense unless someone with a bit more financial knowledge can tell me why someone would be willing to buy a 50% stake in something for more money than the other party.
-
How do you know that? He's going to put in half the money for the club, while some other investors put the other half in while they invest even more money in while he puts nothing more in? Doesn't really work like that. Unless he's not getting 50% of the club, and he's really paying £50m for 25% (or some kind of figures like this) while the other backer funds the rebuild and walks away with 75% of the club for their £50m stake and further £100m. It's already been said he's wealthy, but not wealthy enough to do this by himself, and Ashley with £2bn found it hard to commit financially to the club.
-
It's a shame he's not got serious financial backing and that its all going to be done on a shoestring, but it could be a good thing if done correctly, it would mean high earners like Geremi, Smith, Barton etc... will have to go, there is no choice in them staying if he can only muster £50m of his own coin and getting backing for the other half of the club, i guess there's no room for error and no room for freeloaders if the Moat guy comes in. Thankfully he'll be attached to the region, the club and the passion and of course the misery we've all been though for quite some time, and in that will be born a will to do great things for the club. I can see Shepherd having some kind of consultation role whether its official or hidden on this one while Moat gets used to the ins and outs. Geordie Chairman/owner & manager - should do the right things for the club, its just a real shame the club hasn't got some serious £££££'s to back up their ideas.
-
This is what worries me though, it could be a plan to stoke up the interest in the club by saying he's near completing when in reality he's not even a bidder. Being a toon fan he'd think this is the right thing to do to help out his club, a little white lie to get the ball rolling.

Better just be £8m upfront and then with addons if not a pretty average deal for a player in high demand. Another fuking miserable whinging Frenchman gone. -

Nicolas Anelka, £500k - £23m. Boumsong £0, £8.5m 5 months later. -
Coppell has said before he doesn't like big clubs with big pressure, he likes small jobs and Reading became too big for him. He'd literally last an hour here.

I don't see anything wrong in wishing a painful death for Mike Ashley -- it's only wishful thinking, after all, and does no harm. The problem is that it's written down and displayed in such a disgraceful manner, smearing the commemoration of Bobby Robson, a true gentleman. It's totally unnecessary, and in exceptionally poor taste. Agreed.
-
Fuk that, i'd want him to see the absolute delight in my face as i smash his kneecaps in and stick the bat up his arse.
-
Another striker to reject them. FM Legend. And Fifa. Anyone had him and Victor Obinna up front before? FML. Also, what's going on with SSN's music? Vague attempts at making it more apocalyptic than Requeim for a Dream? It's horrible.

Every other post from you is: Keep up the cracking work. Only the ones with silly talk of administration Yeah, justified on this occasion.

Think he's Lescott replacement. He's not hopeless, just clumsy, you never know a year training in Milan alongside Maldini and Milan's super defensive coaching regime might have sorted out a few areas for him, with Moyes now doing the rest. Lescott & Jag weren't great defenders when they arrived at Everton, Moyes knows his stuff, he reckons he can get the best out of him and i think he possibly could as well. Tbh, once Jags is back, I wouldn't mind playing the 2 most in form from him, Senderos and Yobo. If I have faith in anyone improving Moyes, its him and his defensive team here, as seen with Lescott and Jagielka. Still need a right back though, and that's not even considering any offensive additions. Hold City to ransom over Lescott and then spend spend spend. Beye would be a good signing. Had Jag and Lezzy in my dream team last season, gutted Jag is out till november, he's only £5m and he got 140+ pts. If Senderos is £5m i might put him in, i've got Yobo in there ATM, really waiting to see what defensive changes Everton make. IS Baines over his injuries? It seems Baines is over his injuries: from December-ish onwards he was great last year and one of the first on the teamsheet. One of the key questions is where Neville will play - RB or in midfield. RB is more likely, purely because he's slightly better than the woeful Hibbert. I wouldn't mind Senderos if he's not too expensive, £5m would be acceptable. Very possibly therefore the back 4 vs Arsenal will be: Neville----Senderos----Yobo----Baines Good, Baines is reasonably priced as well in the FF. Neville got some serious points last season btw, just shows FF doesn't quite mirror real life. Everton and Fulham are the best place to go defender shopping imo.

Paying the wages of the cunts that got us relegated.
-
I think this is fairly on the nail but not because the new people will make money necessarily but because it will show him up as being useless. I honestly believe that if he can sell the club to someone who will then get us relegated rather than promoted then he would do. Last thing he will want is for those that follow him to be successful. Pisses me off how easy it would have been for him to accept his mistakes and start the job of rebuilding the club. He started off well getting rid of Wise and bringing in Shearer, all he had to do was stick with the that and get rid of the high earners and dross. End of the day if Keane could build a CCC winning team out of Sunderland and £20m (was it even that in his 1st season?) then Shearer could do the same and we've a lot more sell-able assets to fund it and a bigger rep to bring in better players. We could have had the likes of Beckford and Cox in now forming a pre season partnership while another half dozen players who have moved could have made amazing purchases for the situation were in. Instead we've just decomposed a little bit more making us unsellable as the players wages are a problem and hidden extras in the £100m fee puts off anyone with half a brain, unfortunately no one out there is as stupid as Ashley. He needs to man up appoint Shearer full time, start selling the high earners while Shearer brings in his own squad, promotion is still possible, think CCC winners is near impossible now, and the winners come end of season will shows us how to bounce back at the weekend when they rape us a new one. Bottom of the league come Sat night, nice one Ashley you cunt.
