  1. Would love it if you're right. We haven't had a false dawn for, what, 3 days now..... Too true, been far too long without getting our hopes up. Fuk i'm going to, sick of being depressed as fuk about all this. I'm going to dream until the Oracle man denies us in tomorrows financial times while the landaarn media can have a good ole cockney knees up at our expense. Rince & repeat etc etc...
  2. A mill loss is fuk all considering out position, good fee, and surely a massive sign were getting close to being sold.
  3. Good move tbh, we need a win and it means more to him than anyone else on the pitch. Hopefully he grabs a couple of goals, looks half decent and takes form in to the season or does enough to be sold.
  4. Virgin Media has secured a carriage agreement for ESPN's standard definition and high definition channels. On August 3, ESPN America will be replaced in the UK by a new subscription-based ESPN service available in standard and high definition. It will carry the Premier League matches acquired after Setanta's collapse along with sports currently shown on ESPN America. ESPN has also recently acquired additional football rights from the SPL, MLS and top divisions in Europe. ESPN and ESPN HD will be offered free of charge to customers taking Virgin Media's top XL tier of television service. The channels will also be available to customers on the M and L tiers for £8 per month if they subscribe to Sky Sports or £10 standalone. All Virgin Media television customers will receive the channels free in August. ESPN HD will only be available to those customers who take Virgin's high definition V+ PVR. Virgin Media chief commercial officer Mark Schweitzer said: "This agreement solidifies Virgin Media's place as the home of TV entertainment and is unquestionably the best value TV deal for sports fanatics. We've got all the sports content you'd expect and adding the new ESPN channels to our line-up will mean our customers can watch all the football action they want. "We're always looking for ways to go the extra mile for our customers and we think this market beating offer does this in spades as well as providing a sweetener for the start of the football season. We are extremely proud to have partnered with ESPN, which is the world's leading multimedia sports entertainment company." Virgin's price point undercuts ESPN's price on Sky, where it is offered at £9 per month for Sky Sports subscribers and £12 standalone. Lynne Frank, ESPN's managing director for Europe, the Middle East and Africa, said: "We are delighted to add Virgin Media as a new distribution partner and to offer millions more sports fans ESPN's compelling mix of Barclays Premier League and Clydesdale Bank Premier League football, as well as the best of international football and top quality sports. "The plan to make the channels available to Virgin Media's XL customers will help ESPN better serve sports fans in the UK. It's an exciting season ahead and we look forward to bringing our new channels, ESPN and ESPN HD as well as ESPN Classic, to as many sports fans as possible." ESPN's opening EPL game will be Everton v Arsenal on August 15, with coverage starting from 5:30pm.

    RIP sale thread.

soz if its been posted McMahon hits out at NUFC as Profitable Group pull out STEVE McMAHON today hit out at Newcastle United owner Mike Ashley after confirming the Profitable Group had ended their interest in buying the Magpies due to a lack of “communication and response” from the Toon tycoon. The respected former Liverpool and England midfielder – who is Profitable Group’s commercial director – was spearheading the Singapore-based group’s bid, with the Far East outfit also admitting they wanted to appoint Alan Shearer as manager if they were successful. Managing director Derek Llambias has always played down the bid from Profitable, but McMahon responded today when he told the Chronicle: “We have pulled out. How long can you keep hanging on? “We have put a bid in (two weeks ago) and we have had no communication, no response – nothing. “It really is poor form from Newcastle, but if that’s the way they want to run their business, good luck to them.” Reports this morning suggesting the Profitable Group had never provided proof of funds were also batted away by McMahon. He said: “That is completely inaccurate and it’s not right.” McMahon told the Chronicle on June 17 that the group’s lawyers and attorneys had spent that week in the capital to prepare their offer before submitting it, but they had received no response. McMahon added: “I just feel sorry for the supporters up there – they deserve much, much better. “They deserve to know what is going on. “We wanted to come in and turn the club round because it clearly needs something at the minute.” It is understood that there are no other interested parties, apart from the Shepherd family who are keeping a watching brief on the situation at Gallowgate. But interest from the Malaysian business group who Llambias handed a full-works tour of the stadium is understood to be dead in the water. However, despite Profitable’s claims that Newcastle have been playing hardball, a source close to Seymour Pierce, said: “They did lodge an interest with us. But they never at any stage provided proof of funds. “Their interest was always at a low level.” The source at the London investment bank, though, dismissed the threat of the club going into administration. This is thought to be a complete non-starter for Ashley, who is determined to complete the sale of the club. No-one from Newcastle United was available for comment this morning.
  6. Drug deal. Make a loud bang and see if he hits the deck.
  7. Unlucky Arsenal. Now we know they've plenty of cash as well, £10m is a reasonable price i reckon.
  8. Kolo Toure going to Citeh for £16m?
  9. Martins was brilliant 1st season, showed a lot of promise but like the club has gone backwards and his heart doesn't seem in it anymore. If we get what we paid for him we've done well.

    Administration?

Got to be one of the most hated men in England. North East England, reckon the rest of the Country as pissing themselves.

    RIP sale thread.

This forum has to be the most depressing place on the internet right now, and this thread the most depressing thread on this most depressing forum. Seriously there is nowhere where i go on the net which even comes close.
  15. Waz that 4me? soz i don't mean 2its jus a bad habit
  16. Shearer looks as fit as any of our players... Well Dean Windass is still going isn't he?
  17. Finding this really hard to watch, fuking hell.

    Administration?

Because you cannot buy and sell shop assistants. Every day is a step closer to administration.
  19. Considering our situation I can understand why the club would want to make no money on the event but have their costs covered. We've just been relegated and have a £65m wage bill over our heads and the club is dying on its arse while we have no manager and an owner who wants out. Fuking hell man, it's not that big a deal, were in crisis and THIS throws you over the edge?
  20. Bahahahaha! Embarrassing stuff. Were nearly there, rock bottom that is.
  21. If he wasnt sold, he would know he had to perform to keep up interest in his ability. He'd be sacrificing his own career playing uselessly. He signed a 3 year contract afaia, we could keep him this season and still sell him on. IF and when we come out of this limbo, then you have a different situation. Depends on whos in charge & who owns us. Based on the here and now, it would be stupid to sell bassong without knowing anything. & you believing that a person would have to try out "arm flapping" to see if it works or not isnt a good comeback. lol And saying it in the first place obviously puts you amongst the worlds elite.
  22. Do you ever stop crying? Heres some more crying for ya I think quite obviously that selling bassong is not beneficial atall at this point. We'd do better making him see out his contract, he is better than anyone we could replace him with. So i see it as being crap business regardless of how much we get. Generally money is only useful if you have the capability to use it usefully. We dont at this point. oh btw if you flap your arms you wont fly either. Sorry for spoiling your happy ideas with common sense. Keeping a player who's unhappy is beneficial to the team? Especially a defender who needs to be mentally sharp? It's better to lose a player on a free (ala Owen) than sell him for money? So if we got £50m for it its not good business? (i agree with the point about who's spending it, but at sometime we will come out of limbo and we will need to start spending to get back in the prem) Jesus wept man, go have a word. I guess you've tried that flapping arm thing a few times, think you need to try it off a taller building, anything over 5 storey works mate, trust me.
