Very much so. I'm not looking forward to the Liverpool game, we'll be raped playing like we are currently. Difference between now and the start of the season is mainly luck. I do think Pearson has had a positive effect on the defense, but with so many injuries to our defenders, the true impact has yet to take place. Still though, luck will run out, lets just hope by then we have more of our players back.

Eh? Don't know how you all feel about losing an important member of the coaching staff in the week leading up to a very tough fixture, but I'm not happy about this at all. I mean, you've just got a new defender involved and your main defensive coach (?) is going to be missing training sessions where he should be getting the new unit ticking? And we're going to be left with Steve Wigley ( ) to get us into shape for Pompey away. Pearce putting an England U21 friendly ahead of City, he can fuck off and take the job full time for me. I'd be annoyed if my manager was taken on this job, considering City are not in the best of positions currently. Pearce should concentrate on his club duties, which for me he's been struggling with for about a year now. But our assistant can go missing for a few days, it shouldn't harm us too much. We'll be in a nice set routine now, and any info or knowledge he has in terms of coaching will be known and passed on down or sideways, but a manager needs to be there all the time.

Pearson sounds like a real gem. I'm glad for him and us. Its got to be a good thing. Also if Pearce is only going to take control of qualifiers then Pearson will be taken the friendlies by himself, which again is good news. GR wants to watch his back

He'll never make it at that level because of his lack of pace. I would question whether he's international class at all tbh, but if Downing and Jenas are regulars, why not. To whoever reckons he deserves an improved contract - bollocks, give them improved contracts when it's time to renegotiate their contracts with them. They get paid plenty so let's not be dishing extra cash out willy nilly. With two years to go, is the right time to negotiate, you dont want them sitting at 18months, as that turns into 12months then your paying over the odds. Right time imo. I think he's got decent pace, not blistering, but now he's taken on players and succeeding, shows that he doesn't need that blistering pace to be effective. Plus like you say, if JJ can get in the team, Milner can. I have faith in McClaren to try new faces, he must be looking at Milner as his form has been great in recent weeks.

One of our best players of the season so far. Not hard i know, but considering what he was like before going to Villa, and then nearly being sold, its good stuff. England beckons, i wouldn't be surprised if he gets a call up in the friendly squad.

Just on here I think. My hatred for them has increased tenfold in the last year or so. Walking away from the match along Percy Street yesterday and heard this woman saying "Eee sometimes at work you know, I go on Newcastle message boards, and you wouldn't believe the chatter between our lot and the Spurs fans. Were riding our luck at home, and even more so away. When that luck runs out we'll just have to hope we have some players back, if not then we will struggle.
