It’s typical of the club though we pile high on players in positions that are relatively cheap to acquire, so Rafa has in this instance been able to sign good players. It’s like when we had Sissiko, Wijnaldum, Perez and de Jong who all preferred the same advanced midfield position.

Personally I think it will be a hard rebirth, if he can’t get his money back and he can’t get us back into the PL he will either wind us up or relocate the club and we’ll just be left with a council owned stadium and have to start from the very beginning. Or alternatively he will sell us cheap to some chancer who accepts various commitments to Ashley that will prevent us from doing well

Today I saw roadside advertisement boards, presumably paid for by Liverpool fans, protesting about Everton’s owners, in Salford. Really got the message across, definitely something to aspire to.

I respect Rafa I really do but he has inadvertently become a shield for Ashley. I will be sad to see him go but the club and the fans needed him and Lascelles to walk last summer and they have let us down by not doing so.

Before a boycott to really work I think there needs to be an open letter both to Ashley and the fans stating the position and getting as many people associated with the club to sign it as possible. Imagine a letter signed by Shearer, KK, Lady Robson, SJH, all the way down to Olivier Bernard etc could really light the touch paper.
