It was great to see that the club's make-up artists did a brilliant job to create a disguise that lasted for 90 minutes under extreme conditions.

This lot have done brilliantly and have shown that they can get results off anyone. The key now is to get some strikers in, and then to add depth to key positions. No need to make significant alterations to the defence or midfield if it can be helped, unless the right player became available.

If not Jonas, I think there will be a shock departure this summer as Pardew attempts to upgrade the first team. This won't be one of the shits who everyone wants out like Smith, Perch etc, or one of those with long term question marks like Barton, Tiote or Enrique but instead someone who generally occupies a first team place who Pardew will attempt to upgrade on or cull for wages/transfer fees in an attempt to enlarge the squad. For me, the favourite is Jonas as selling him would serve both purposes, but also watch out for Coloccini, Simpson, Saylor, Williamson and Best.

I think that while everyone is looking at Enrique, we'll instead go and sell Jonas to one of the Italian big clubs that never win anything for an extortionate sum of money. We'll then sign two wingers, two strikers and a central defender. Enrique will leave on deadline day and we'll get van Aanholt on loan.

The fact that their goalkeeper was MotM should be a complement to us in my opinion. I've been away for a few weeks so haven't been able to microanalyse things, but on its own this match seems to have yielded a decent performance for a promoted side.

Has Vuckic really moved forward enough other the past two years to be considered for a first team role, seems like he has been treading water. As for bringing back Best into the team for one game, is there much point?
