The Newcastle United Transfer Thread: D-Day [Spoiler: Not Much Happens]

Why would a club accept a straight swap unless they think that our player is better than theirs? -

Listening at doors can really hide the context of the situation. Wise and Llambias were merely swapping football stickers. -
Oh thats good, Allardyce will have had them running naked around Antartica with bails of straw on their backs, while yelling through a loudspeaker about not running behind the fullback.
-
Yep just had a look. Signing wasn't completed by that point, but Allardyce had approved the transfer following a trial.
-
Wasn't signing Kadar pretty much the last thing Allardyce did here? Would be hilarious if he came on and scored.
-
Unless Kinnear is taking unnecessary risks with him, Taylor and Enrique. We've already seen Enrique limp off at HT following early comebacks.
-
Roberts over Santa Cruz? Welcome to the Land of Sam.
-
He got a "rest" a couple of weeks ago when the same players were fit. Don't think Kinnear has worked out that he's being played in his much weaker right side position.
-
Fuck sake, Jonas has well and truly been ditched by Kinnear.
-
This is an absolute disgrace treating one of your players like this. Instant sackable offence in my book.

Fairly sure there isn't a problem with identifying numerous targets. In fact that would be the sensible thing to do. I hate Gomez. Terrible footballer and yet he averages one goal every other game at club level. Doesn't matter though, seriously doubt he'd be interested in us. are you just going off the euros as he waas far from terrible the last couple of seasons (not as good this season but still scoring) The guy's username may provide some clues. and mine ? As far as I'm aware, he's not naming himself after his favourite curry. -
Pictures on .cock of both him and Alan Smith in training. the JK interview was played before the match pre-recorded on Tuesday he said Barton and Smith 2 weeks away, Shola 1 week, Enrique 1 week, Beye 12 weeks, Oba 6weeks and Viduka 1 week, but he said away from training not away from being fit. Ten years away from the PL may mean he's a bit old-school when it comes to assessing a player's fitness.

Sorin often plays in central midfield/left wing -

Furthermore, if Riise was genuinely Kinnear's first choice, I'd say Sorin would be under the category of well known player with similar attributes to Riise as Kinnear went down the list of available left backs. -

Despite impressing at Argentina, he has never quite managed to get a run of games in Europe, running off to Cruzeiro until the next European club comes knocking. The biggest irony would be the identity of the person who replaced him at Villareal: Jose Enrique Sanchez Diaz -

It means the club aren't bothered. Cruzeiro don't have a league game until 23rd May 2009, and it is unclear if Sorin took his option for the 2009 season anyhow. -

He does certainly fit the left back, Argentinian or Italian international, injured for ages, club willing to let him have a trial description that Kinnear has provided us with. -

Link? Oh no, there's no source, should have made it clearer, it is mere opinion. -

The Argentinian is Juan Pablo Sorin. -
How long before NUSC become a lower league football club I wonder?

Souness was more like someone running out of nowhere and smashing you in the face with a brick. This is more like someone who mugs you, beats you senseless then backs over you repeatedly with their car to make sure you're dead. I loved Souness. He'd punch you in the face, but he'd try to make up for it with expensive gifts, and there were a few happy memories. Kinnear has just locked me in the cellar without any food.
