  1. OK. The main points: Does NUSC join Supporters Direct, which can offer government funding. The problem being that Supporters Direct requires that groups who want funding aspire for representation on their club's board. There's still a bit of debate as to whether NUSC is to aspire to that or not. Nothing has been ruled out though. Honorary Memeberships: Several names discussed. Some people unsure about awarding them to KK and Shearer as it might be something the media can have a go at us for. SBR to be awarded Membership no.1 An NUSC Bank account is to be set up A secretary has been appointed as have people to undertake admin and extra press contacts. Merchandising will be looked into, what sort of stuff would be feasible. There have been no decisions made as yet. It's at an exploring/researching stage. What will membership fees be used for? At the minute, it's pretty much to get the thing up and running and for printing costs etc But it's going to be looked into how the money could be used, and what members can be offered in return. This will be displayed in the website. Again, on going protests - more leaflets/newsletters, demos etc. The possibility of contacting sponsors at NUFC will be looked at to see if they (or at least some) will support us. Ashley's business management (which has been lambasted in business/econnomic circles) will be highlighted. I should say that a lot of the stuff is looking at what could be done, and having people investigate further and report back their findings. The club are in a relegation fight and all you people can talk about is merchandise, protests, and hobnobbing with Robson, Shearer and Keegan. Some fucking priorities need sorting.
  2. As it was his mistake to overlook them, I don't agree that they are a valid reason for curtailing his spending plans. That's all I'm saying. I reckon that all those hidden costs (wages, installments etc) would curtail the spending of Chris 'We need another £50m' Nathaniel's Nigerian consortium and anyone else coming into the club on a similar premise. I believe that unless someone with a bottomless pit comes in, it is a choice between racking up debt, or spending to a level that will not satisfy the majority of supporters. But they're not hidden now are they? Nor would they be hidden from a thorough financial audit prior to completion of any sale. If there are a shitload of outstanding debts to be paid etc, surely any bidder would simply take this into account, therefore allowing for it in any spending plans they may have? That's what Ashley singularly failed to do. That is making assumptions though. The assumption being that owners will want to come here with the belief that the best strategy is to spend big, or at least better than Ashley has done. What if the purchaser is more interested in the status of owning us, or wants to create a feeder club for their national team, or like Ashley believes in a buy young a cheap, sell more expensively policy? Only one type of owner will happily accommodate those installments in their business plans in a way that will satisfy their plans, and for every one of those there are many more that would be willing to take such a hindrance on.

  4. Because it is being used to pay wages and installments for players like Owen and Luque. Should have completed due fucking dilligence then, perhaps? I'm sick of hearing about the debts and shit he didn't know about tbh. If I buy a car without checking the thing and later find out it needs a shedload of work doing to it that's nobody's fault but my own. As far as I see it, it is going to be a problem for whoever comes in whether they knew about it or not. If you expect anyone to come in and not find their efforts hampered by that situation, you better fucking pray that they have the same bottomless resources of Abramovich.
  5. Was anything said at all about supporting the players? Been very dissapointed that area has been omitted from previous statements to be honest.

    Where is this?
  10. P.S. My amateur accounting for how much Ashley paid for the club is the £130m + £100m debt paid off equals £230m
  11. Simple question, how much do you think the club is worth? The main assets of the club must be the stadium, the potential to fill it when things are going well, and our Premier League status, plus the TV revenue that brings. That was all there when Ashley paid for it. Plus of course there was the debt which (even though he underestimated it) should be added to the amount Ashley paid. However, the lack of sponsorship revenue, plus further outstanding debts relating to transfer installments mean that when Ashley purchased the club, he paid more than it was worth. So what has changed for the better since? Well supposedly the commercial arms of the club are more efficient, although that claim can't really be verified on here. But what is worse? Dwindling crowds. No manager at a difficult time to find a decent manager. The clubs best playing asset entering the final year of his contract with no sign of any motivation to stay. 10 months flirting with the possibility of relegation. An ever decreasing reputation. A large percentage of season tickets for the next three years pre-sold, question marks over where that money has gone/is going. Relative strengthening of the main competition. An increased wage bill The need to pay off at least five significant boardroom figures. In short, the club is now worth a heck of a lot less than Ashley paid for it, and it wouldn't bother me to see him make a loss. No sensible investor should pay more than £200m for the club. In fact, if they do, I'd be pretty confident that the new people were either stark raving mad, or looking to invest significantly into the playing personnel.

His ban will be until 20 October if the boardroom cocked up his registration and didn't have him registered as manager for yesterday's game.
  13. Love the disappearance of the 'FKN Love You Martins' sig.

    Who's worse?

Why the fuck do people endlessly have a go at Geremi? For the last two seasons he has been the only midfielder able to pass the ball, not to mention all of those assists.

  16. Thinking about this, there are three possibilities about the current situation: Kinnear is just as in the dark as we are about the new ownership and their plans, and made a bit of a mess of his interview. Mike Ashley's ego is too big to let KK come back even though the prospective new owners want him. Keegan's ego is too big to work for Ashley for 6-8 more weeks.
  17. It is possible Kinnear has been given an eight game contract, both as a contingency against delays, but also as part of some guaranteed financial benefit for it to be worth Kinnear's while.

This isnt Ashleys appointment. As if he's ever heard of Joe Kinnear. Ashley phoned Kinnear personally. ..and hasn't even spoken to Wise about it. He probably thinks Wise is still a player. Yep, Chris Mort clearly misunderstood Ashley when he said that he wanted Dennis Wise to direct the football from the middle and execute John Salako.

All four of his attempted managerial appointments were highly regarded at that time.

What is clear is that Mike Ashley is mentally incapable of acknowledging any football that occured after 1996.
  22. Stealing my jokes, how low can you get
  23. But the Irishman hinted that he expects Keegan to take the reins again once a takeover of the club has been sealed. "I am aware that the new owners have Kevin Keegan and possibly Alan Shearer parked around the corner," he told BBC Radio 5 Live. "I understand investors are about to buy the club, (current owner) Mike Ashley told me openly. I will be here for 6-8 games."
