    New DVD

How about no-one buys it. Shepherd doesn't deserve the money.
  2. Henrik Larsson is very hardworking, and always faces the goal. That is the type of player we are looking for in my opinion, all our strikers are support strikers, not goalpoachers.
  3. I thought it was Alan Irvine who had done wonders with our players fitness. When he left for Everton, it all went downhill.
  4. Hmm interesting this. You really don't see how dumb this attitude makes you appear, do you? There are 2 differeng views on this subject, yes. The fact you agree with one view and not with the other does not mean the one you disagree with is the only regurgitated argument. That you think it does is a pointer toward your IQ being rather low. I'm heartened that you at least got the sequence correct when you started with, "attack the Board...." etc, etc. It seems anything that is endlessly regurgitated is fine by you so long as you agree with it. A rather empty headed position to take, but something I'm used to from you and many others around here. You seem to have ignored the fact that I have been taking a non-regurgitated approach: http://www.newcastle-online.com/james-bond-nufc/
  5. Its clear you really don't know what you are talking about and you have just fabricated the 'I know only one manager... nonsense up yourself... oh I can assure you it is true. But I don't give a flying fcuk if you don't believe me Go on then, assure us. How can you assure us? You must be even thicker than I thought Its appears you think lots of people on this forum are a bit thick, but heres the problem.... You have been asked several questions and you have failed to address any of them. Your response so far has been... eekout.gif Common occurence on this forum, attack the chairman, and HTL and NE5 will round up on you and cause a constant cycle of endlessly repeated and regurgitated arguments, not listening to anything that contradicts what they are saying, and subsequently talking about the chairman when nothing new happens is usually a waste of time I'm afraid.

    Carr

Still think he is. Had a very, very poor game today though. The one claiming he is the worst one to have ever played more than 30 games in newcastle is the biggest moron alive. What you say is what you are.[/childish retort] Seriously though, you must be seriously deluded to seriously think that Carr is alright. He has never had a good game for Newcastle in the Premiership. He is slow, badly positioned, energyless, awful at marking, heading and dedfending set-pieces. Name a player to have played thirty games for Newcastle (post 1996) that has been worse. Shola, Bramble, Boumsong, Millner, Babayaro, Ramage As for Milner, he's been excellent. Given that you can't even spell Milner, I'm very sceptical about you knowing ANYTHING about Newcastle United. Babayaro is a decent, very under-appreciated player, while Ramage outperformed Carr at right back last season.

They've had bad games, but Carr has had even worse games, while at least the three named have had a few good games in their newcastle career.

    4-2-3-1

Nothing wrong with that if the team is sorted out well tactically. Dyer and Milner would help him out at leading the line, while Martins would be instructed to not turn his back on goal. Dyer and Milner would get in front of him, and try to drag the ball back.

    4-2-3-1

Yea but theres no width, Against Arsenal we perhaps should play a 4-5-1 and try to hit them on the counter. What is your obssession with width all about? Can you not see that there is no point playing with width if we have no strikers or midfielders capable of receiving the ball from a cross and putting it in the back of the net?

    4-2-3-1

Wingers to cross for which brilliant cross receiver? Martins would not be on his own because the impetus is for Dyer and Milner to be right next to him. Martins would just need to get into the six yard box to finish off the carnage I would anticipate Dyer and Milner causing. Why would Emre fall back, he certainly didn't when he was a support striker in several matches last season.

Carr is the worst player I have ever seen start more than 30 games for Newcastle - FACT

    4-2-3-1

The way forward in my opinion is a 4-2-3-1 formation. Towards the end of the game, we were playing 3-2-4-1 from the sounds of things, and it allowed us to attack through the middle of the pitch with some impetus. We had Sibierski up on his own facing the goal, while Dyer, Milner, and N'Zogbia were running forward to join him, and Emre was making some good passes from high up the field, while Solano was passing well from deep. The result was that Man City had little time on the ball, and we were able to get the ball back quickly (usually via Parker), who would then get the ball to one of our attacking midfielders. 3-2-4-1 wont work over 90 minutes, but in my opinion, we can offer something similar in terms of directness and ability to attack the goal without compromising the team defensively. I would adopt the following team: Given Taylor Moore Bramble Ramage Butt Parker Dyer Emre Milner Martins The three attacking midfielders would adopt a central position most of the time. Emre would not run forward often, but I anticipate that he would have a lot of space to pass the ball around and to unleash the attacks. Dyer and Milner would both look to get alongside and support Martins. Butt and Parker should be able to sweep up many of the loose balls that you would anticipate from a pressurised opposition defense, while both would go wide when the opposition try to go down the wings, with Emre covering their position. The defence would be encouraged to lamp the ball up to the opposition penalty box to really put the oppositioon under pressure, with a high probability that one of the midfield five would collect the second ball. The defense would need to be our tallest and most physical, as I would expect them to have to deal with a lot of long balls themselves, and the system doesn't require attacking work from full backs. This team wouldn't beat the big four, and will probably only score a quarter of the chances we create (although I anticipate that we would create many more chances), but right now, we need worry about scoring against the worser teams, when we are not scoring at all.

    Carling Cup draw

For me, the ideal draw would be: Arsenal vs Chelsea Tottenham vs Liverpool Southend vs Charlton Wycombe vs Newcastle I think Chelsea and Liverpool need to be knocked out in the quarters, as in the semis they are likely to become up for the cup, whereas a tricky away tie for both may see them off.

    FF V FA

Against FIFA rules. If a player is called up (even if they have retired) they have to go, or be suspended from playing for their club. Where does it say that in the rules?? We're talking about international Football here, not national service. Its entirely up to the player wether or not they're available to be called up.. Did you not follow the Makelele saga where he was forced to play for France in August despite being retired?
  17. As far as I'm concerned, Gemmill does not exist.
  18. Kevin Keegan once said: "As far as I'm concerned Danny Tiato does not exist." Well as far as I'm concerned, Michael Owen does not exist.

Against FIFA rules. If a player is called up (even if they have retired) they have to go, or be suspended from playing for their club. Do they have any responsibility re. compensation? Nope, which is why it is unfair for us that they should prevent us from preventing our own players for playing internationally.

  21. I've heard that it is not actually a hip-op Shola is having done, but something much more serious: Here is a picture of Shola pre-op: http://www.4thegame.com/media/00/03/45/ameobi_shola_nufc_profile_2006.jpg And after the groundbreaking surgery, it is hoped that shola will look (and be as good as) this: http://www.thefa.com/NR/rdonlyres/95423741-679F-491A-B7D0-6FB0193057DD/0/Newcastle_Shearer_1996_med2.jpg

    no subs again

I'm sorry, but anyone left supporting Roeder is deluded. Under Roeder, we have been the worst team after half time in the majority of games. We generally have a good first half, but Roeder has found him unable to respond to the tactical changes made by the opposition at half time, and then he ignores proven attacking options ie Zoggy and Solano (notice I dont have to mention Luque, there are other substitutes) who could have brought the game back to Watford, but instead, as usual, Roeder is perfectly happy to let us sit back and settle for a draw or a defeat against poor teams. Shepherd Out! Roeder Out!
  23. NE5, please, please, pretty please answer my question.

    Freddy Eastwood

This guy looks ready to take on the big boys. Can get in the box and put excellent defenders under threat. Might be worth a punt in January.

    no subs again

Extra Time has started and still no substitution. We have three very talented attacking players on the bench, all who offer something very different, and provide a chance to unlock a poor defence. And we have played three games plus one half hour of extra time in 6 days Shepherd out! Roeder out!
