    Food for thought

Wasn't he in goal when Fulham did us up here? Crap, he was, and that kind of contradicts everything I wrote.
  2. Premiership games played by Given this season: Wigan (h) - won 2-1 Villa (a) - lost 0-2 (Best Performance against us this season IMO) West Ham (a) won 2-0 Arsenal (a) drawn 1-1 I've been very critical of Given in the past, but the 7 out of 12 points earned in those games pretty much make up our Premiership season so far, and these are no easy fixtures. Has it been down to great individual performances, or is it the presence of Given both on and off the field which are making his team-mates raise their game, or is it just coincidence? Personally, I will be putting any improvement in form as being down to Given, and not Roeder.

    Kieron Dyer

Even ex-convicts are innocent of new crimes unless proven guilty. Lets try and be optimistic about this one.
  4. Nice guy, but for me, two league wins all season is not good enough.

    Kieron Dyer

I've said before, 4-2-3-1 is the way forward. No point deploying wingers with the strikers we have available, and this lineup would offer much penetration through the centre without compromising the team defensively: Butt Parker Dyer Emre Milner Martins
  6. Looking at that it reads like we were paying to acquire Souness over the length of his contract, once he was sacked we had to pay the remaining to Blackburn immediately. Could be wrong though. Think you are right, looks like we had to pay £2.4m for him.
  7. One point gained. Credit to Dyer as well on HIS FIRST START FOR MONTHS.
  8. Good point there skirge, but dont forget that Tommy Craig was also playing an important role at the time.
  9. Having had Darren Bent reject a £500k move to Newcastle years back, I would hate us to spend so much.

    Oliver Speaks

If the Clark comments are true, he should be sacked. Totally unproffessional comments that do no-one any good, and fully explain our league position.

Lee Stewart? Fraid not, the incident described on the article would be impossible to photoshop, especially the wife.
  13. If the board wont back a decent foreign manager, I'd say Gary Speed would be my choice.
  14. Sorry, I dont quite understand what you are trying to say?
  15. On the local news earlier, non-league Havant & Waterlooville face massive financial problems caused by being drawn with Millwall at home in the FA Cup. Police decided that they would not allow Havant & Waterlooville to play Millwall without the game being moved to Fratton Park and Havant pay £35,000 to the police so that the police could have a large enough force to prepare for any hooligans, with Millwall being considered an extremely high-risk club. In my opinion, Millwall should either be forced to pay for it (something they are as of now refusing to do), or they should be banned from the FA Cup for as long as their fans are considered high enough risk for the police to impose a financially ruining bill on any non-league club unlucky enough to draw them.
  16. He's a second striker, we need someone who'll lead the line.
  17. He'll cost a bit, but I like Kevin Doyle. Plays how a goalscoring striker should.

    New DVD

How about no-one buys it. Shepherd doesn't deserve the money.
  19. Henrik Larsson is very hardworking, and always faces the goal. That is the type of player we are looking for in my opinion, all our strikers are support strikers, not goalpoachers.
  20. I thought it was Alan Irvine who had done wonders with our players fitness. When he left for Everton, it all went downhill.
  21. Hmm interesting this. You really don't see how dumb this attitude makes you appear, do you? There are 2 differeng views on this subject, yes. The fact you agree with one view and not with the other does not mean the one you disagree with is the only regurgitated argument. That you think it does is a pointer toward your IQ being rather low. I'm heartened that you at least got the sequence correct when you started with, "attack the Board...." etc, etc. It seems anything that is endlessly regurgitated is fine by you so long as you agree with it. A rather empty headed position to take, but something I'm used to from you and many others around here. You seem to have ignored the fact that I have been taking a non-regurgitated approach: http://www.newcastle-online.com/james-bond-nufc/
  22. Its clear you really don't know what you are talking about and you have just fabricated the 'I know only one manager... nonsense up yourself... oh I can assure you it is true. But I don't give a flying fcuk if you don't believe me Go on then, assure us. How can you assure us? You must be even thicker than I thought Its appears you think lots of people on this forum are a bit thick, but heres the problem.... You have been asked several questions and you have failed to address any of them. Your response so far has been... eekout.gif Common occurence on this forum, attack the chairman, and HTL and NE5 will round up on you and cause a constant cycle of endlessly repeated and regurgitated arguments, not listening to anything that contradicts what they are saying, and subsequently talking about the chairman when nothing new happens is usually a waste of time I'm afraid.

    Carr

Still think he is. Had a very, very poor game today though. The one claiming he is the worst one to have ever played more than 30 games in newcastle is the biggest moron alive. What you say is what you are.[/childish retort] Seriously though, you must be seriously deluded to seriously think that Carr is alright. He has never had a good game for Newcastle in the Premiership. He is slow, badly positioned, energyless, awful at marking, heading and dedfending set-pieces. Name a player to have played thirty games for Newcastle (post 1996) that has been worse. Shola, Bramble, Boumsong, Millner, Babayaro, Ramage As for Milner, he's been excellent. Given that you can't even spell Milner, I'm very sceptical about you knowing ANYTHING about Newcastle United. Babayaro is a decent, very under-appreciated player, while Ramage outperformed Carr at right back last season.

They've had bad games, but Carr has had even worse games, while at least the three named have had a few good games in their newcastle career.
