Said it all last night the way the Reading coach was marshalling the Reading defence from the touchline and they were catching us nearly every time with offsides. Our manager was sitting with his head in his hands and his assistant was having a kip, both ex defenders while the defence was all over the place bar Taylor who would excellent since he was defending for 2 players.

To be honest though i don't know why Clarkie gets so much shit on here. He's a young coach starting out. He might well turn out to be a good one. Its not his fault our coaching setup is a joke. Its fuckin ridiculous he's being used as a scout. People probably wouldn't even have a problem with him being a coach if it wasn't for the rest of the coaching setup. I can see why people have a problem with the likes of McDermott having a coaching job though. I think if we get a good manager in then you might see Clark stay at the club as a coach (although probably not as reserve team manager), but McDermott will be gone as well as Pearson and probably most of the medical team.

They certainly picked the right fans to interview before the match :lol:

He's worth every penny as long as he stays fit, and the smoggies got him on loan this season so he can prove his fitness. He's done that. Its a shame that he's signing for them because he is one of the best defenders in the world but i cam understand why in a way. Its his hometown, and the way he's stayed away from injuries is probably making him think he is best at Boro. They probably have a much better medical team than us.

He's played one game! I don't know how anyone can write of Huntington already either. I think Taylor and N'Zogbia both have brilliant futures ahead of them, and i think Milner has a very good future ahead of him as well if he keeps on improving.

Does Hooper look much different and does he get much grief?

The only thing he would give us is more squad depth. He would add absolutely nothing to our team unless he was playing alongside another central midfielder who isn't already at the club. Parker and Butt are both better tbh. People see him as a good signing because he's available for free and he's been hyped up a bit, but if we sign him and we start next season with him, Parker, Butt and maybe Emre as our choice of cenre midfielders then reality will soon set in.

Sidwell wouldn't offer anything more than Parker offers really if he played in front of Butt. I'd be very disappointed if they were our first choice midfield partnership for next season. We're crying our for an attacking midfielder who scores goals. We've been missing that since Rob Lee and Gary Speeds peak really. Lets not get into a debate about who would be first choice defensive midfielder next season but i don't want to see Parker, Butt or Sidwell (if we sign him) in the same team together. Who you would have as your first choice is a different matter, but we will get nowhere playing them together.

Sidwell couldn't clean Rob Lee's boots though in all fairness

These threads come up every couple of days. Parker is a good player but he is being used wrong. He is not an attacking creative midfielder. Can't be arsed with this all over again though.
