Gudjohnsen alongside Owen would work perfectly imo. Whether it will happen is another thing though. Wonder if Allardyce could get the full potential out of Martins. One things for sure though, the club will only make a tenner all next season out of our midfielders at the club already if Allardyce keeps them and brings his no shooting outside the box policy here.

If we get Allardyce i will be fucking well pleased. I think with a bit of money he will be capable of getting us challenging for UEFA Cup football next season and once he had his own full squad of players i think he could take us on further in the long term. He won't waste money.

Considering all we have been through, would he risk bringing such a person to Newcastle? Sven would be against the ropes from the get go. Also, we would be a laughing stock almost because everyone else thinks Sven is a joke. Aye definitely. One good move doesn't make up for countless absolutely ridiculous moves. He is a disgrace. Unfortunately we have a lot of blind fans who will forgive him if he gives the next manager millions of OUR money to spend.

Got a lot of respect for him. His team selections were weird and he's just not up to managing at the top level, but he saved us last season and got us into europe. People have tried to take the credit away from him for our run at the end of last season and seem to give Shearer and Craig more credit, but he was still the manager, he picked the team. I'll remember him for getting us into europe from an impossible situation, 4-1, signing Martins, selling Boumsong and Faye, and walking rather than taking OUR money.

Well done to him if he has resigned rather than taken the money. Thanks for giving us some european football this season. Still got a lot of respect for the man, don't care how some people feel about him.
