If Gooch proves to be a good defender and we can keep him Taylor and Nobby in defence for the rest of the season then we should be ok. Its the squads depth whats lacking.

I wouldn't celebrate if i scored against Newcastle personally, but Bellamy isn't a Newcastle fan anyway. If i played against one of my former teams and scored (as long as it wasn't Newcastle obviously) then i would definitely celebrate.

For me 1-4 is awful, 5 is disappointing, 6 is average, 7 good, 8 very good, 9 outstanding, 10 unbelievable.

I'd love West Ham to go down. Their fans really did boil my piss with them sick chants they sung towards Roeder. Fair enough it was minority more than the majority, but for them few arseholes alone i hope they go down and stay down. Oh and Ashton would do nicely.

Hope this gets pointed out on the Legends tomorrow. The silence is deafening when Parker has a great game and someone praises him. If MacDonald can't throw any criticism in about his performance then he just shuts up all together. I'm not one of those people who actually follow the thought that the reason we went on a run towards the end of last season was because of Parker being injured. Recently we've won games against the likes of Spurs and Liverpool with Parker in the team and we got a very good draw against Manure as well. An on form Parker is one of our biggest assets IMO.

I'd love him back and he is too good for the smogs, but he is also too good for us. If the big four didn't come in for him i think the only chance we would have of getting him is if Boro went down (won't happen) or we got in the Champions League (won't happen). I'd love to be wrong though. Theres not many player who have became one of my all time favourite's without playing over a couple of seasons for us but he is definitely one of them.

Bellamy was one of the key reasons Shearer turned into a 25+ goal a season striker again. He ripped defences apart and made goals for Shearer and also made space for Shearer. He did that consistently. That in itself made him consistent for me throughout his time here when he partnered Shearer.

I'm interested to know what people think Ferdinand and Terry have actually got what Woodgate hasn't? Woodgate is consistently superb week in and week out when he is fit and now he is consistently fit as well *touch wood*. Woodgate is a superb reader of the game, has plenty of pace, brilliant man marker, good in the air, good passer of the ball, and he makes all those defenders around him play better. You never really see him give silly free kicks away and get booked. He is world class. The only thing Terry has over him is he is better in the air. Terry is overrated imo. And i am not saying he isn't a great defender because he is a great defender, but i do think he is overrated partly because of his goalscoring exploits. Defensively he can be suspect at times, although in the main he is usually quality. He isn't the quickest either. Ferdinand is an excellent defender and is a bit different from anything else we have. His concentration can go at times though. When Ferdinand is fully focused though he is world class. I still think Woody is the best we have out of the lot though because i don't see a weakness on the pitch with him. Thats my opinion anyway.

Disagree. We might need Dyer more than Bellamy now cos of the style of strikers we have, but i will never forget how good Bellamy was alongside Shearer. Not that Dyer is a striker anyway like. Bellamy was consistant. He will never be an out an out goalscorer, but he made the world of difference, and he made plenty of goals as well i think. Dyer has been delivering since he came back, but i won't be fully convinced until he has a consistent season. Any time he has played a full season he hasn't been consistent with any sort of end product.

Lets hope he can deliver. Some people expect him to deliver that straight away though it seems. He still has a massive job of clearing some of the shit out and building the team. He has my full support anyway.

Bellamy gets abuse everywhere he goes. He will thrive on it. I won't be booing him. I appreciate what a brilliant player he was while he was here. He's never slagged the fans of or anything. Dyer has been been forgiven for most of Tyneside for the way he pissed Sir Bobby about. Who did Bellamy piss about? Souness. At the end of the day Bellamy done more for us in his time here than Dyer has done and Dyer is still at the club. Not looking to turn this into a Bellamy v Dyer debate like but i don't see why Bellamy should be hated by everyone. He's gonna get the abuse anyway though (wrongly imo).

Playing Edgar would be more of a benefit to him than having him on the bench. Our fans don't get on the youngsters back as long as they give 100%. Everyone might call Ramage shit but they certainly don't boo him at the match cos they appreciate his heart is in it, even when he hasn't got much else to offer. And why would Roeder risk his job on playing inferior players for the good of one individual in the long term (even though your theory is very wrong imo). If Roeder really thought Edgar was the best of the bunch he would put him in the team for the good of the team. And if he thought Edgar would make the defence much better then he would put him in because he thought he would be solid enough so nobody would feel the need to get on his back. He obviously rates Huntington higher. I've been very impressed with Edgar though from the few games he's player. He looks very comfortable on the ball and doesn't panic. Huntington has been decent. I think Huntington needs to be loaned out down a division or two to toughen up though.

Parker is average at best. It's the same people every week who babble on about how great he is. Workrate is ok but you need a certain level of ability to go with it. Its the same people every week who moan about him. The majority of fans love him, its just some people on here who moan all of the time.
