For some reason I just read that whole thread - watching them try to have a reasoned debate was fascinating. But fuck me, that Masterplan/Wireside is a fucking nugget of the highest order, isn't he? Don't get me wrong, there are some prize wankers here too, but that guy is a genuine fucking nugget. In hindsight, Dave and the mods need a medal for allowing him to stay here as long as he did... They have reached the point of blind, almost insane, denial as far as O'Neil is concerned. One win in 16, rotten negative football, least shots of any team in Europe, etc etc, all brushed off with the latest excuse. RTG has a fair share of propaganda posters defending O'Niel (Wirethide and hith chums) but much of their general support is starting to see right through the blarney.

Really sums up what a horrible club they have become when they want such an odious character and dirty limited footballer as their club captain for another four years. Martytastic.
  3. Anyone on here seen a better goalkeeper playing for Newcastle ? I haven't.
  4. Better team lost and in fact a single point may have been more than we deserved. West Brom are a very good side which their results so far prove and we struggled against their pressing, passing and movement in the second half. Really enjoyed the fortuitous victory, it's not like we haven't been on the wrong end of last minute goals or flukey deflections in the past. Great credit to Timmy Krul for the winning goal, his desire to get the ball straight out to Santon, at a time when some may have just hung on to it for a while, was really positive and ultimately rewarded.

Aah fuck, another four years of having to find secure parking when taking the car into town, Close House, Ponteland etc etc.
  6. Narrow victory, which would be very pleasing against one of the best teams outside of the "big clubs". I always think they play a bit like the macums but are better at it and have much better players.

They were lucky against Arsenal, Liverpool and Swansea too. They are very lucky to have the points total they have. In exclusion some of their draws could be deemed decent results, but the fact that they have never once been the better side is much more telling. O'Neill should not be making light of their astonishingly bad "shots on target" stats. It really does tell a story which the results don't.

Seems like the seeds of revolt against O'Neill are now being sown, but I find it quite incredible that the majority of them still cannot see how bad his management style is and where their club is heading with him in charge.
  9. Pardew's programme notes were excellent last night re how we are approaching the competition. 10/10 for him so far, we're top of the group playing what is essentially a second choice XI who are getting very valuable game time. Really looking forward to the tougher challenges which lie ahead in the knock out stages and seeing our best team up against top opposition. Decent team performance last night, Obertan is starting to make a few who wrote him off wonder if he can offer us something different now. Tiote was shockingly bad. Coldest night I can remember for quite a while at SJP.

It's a cry for help Nath, show some respect Exactly. Far too many taking the piss out of macums on here when it's pity that they really need.
  11. Aye, their fines and any other sentence they get, plus the club suing them for the UEFA fines they received makes it look like a pretty expensive prank.
  12. Hopefully this will deter any more idiots who think streaking is actually funny. Guilty pleas have been entered at Newcastle Magistrates by the pitch invaders who disrupted United's opening two Europa League home ties this season. A 21 year-old man from Newcastle was accused of a public order offence during the match against Atromitos, while a 35 year-old male from South Yorkshire faced a similar charge from Bordeaux's visit to St.James' Park. Neither were NUFC season ticket holders or members and attempts to get their legal teams to accept stadium banning orders both failed, meaning that the cases had to be adjourned and sentencing delayed until December. UEFA have fined NUFC £5,600 for the first offence and a larger penalty is expected to be levied for the second. Club head of security Steve Storey said: "First of all I’m pleased they pleaded guilty and we at the club hope that they receive strong sentences. It is not just to punish them but also to act as a deterrent to others. "These people who think selfishly running on the pitch is fun or funny should realise it is not. It’s a criminal offence which disrupts the game. "It offends thousands of people inside the stadium, particularly when they run on naked. "It’s beamed live throughout Europe and it has brought embarrassment to the club given it’s the first time we’ve been in Europe for many years. "We will be actively seeking compensation through the court for the financial penalty imposed by UEFA and we are taking legal advice to consider taking civil action against both men.”

Aye despite their crowds being on a downward trend and them having to drag in 12,000 plastics by any means possible to fill the place for our visit each year, I have to say that to get 35-40,000 to regularly watch the dross they pass off as football is quite an achievement. Credit where due.

You'd think they'd have just about done this one to death by now but no, they still manage at least 2 threads per week on the subject. Are any set of fans anywhere in the world as obsessed with their neighbours superior support ? Even though stalwart mackem business tycoon and Sunderland FC chairman Tom Cowie told them 30 years ago that Newcastle have better fans they just don't geddit do they ? At least no mention of most of their catchment area being the North Sea or having a higher ratio of dead fans on this particular thread. Well not yet anyway. http://www.readytogo.net/smb/showthread.php?t=737449

Shitdrew leading his Scumcastle players out at the wongadome. Gotta hand it to them, when it comes to wit they're cutting edge.
  18. Have they got tickets? No?! ARREST THEM IMMEDIATELY!!! Are they in L7 for this ?
  19. UEFA did their Technical Report recently and they said similar. I think they called corners obsolete, as only 27 of the 1,250 in last year's Champions League lead to a goal. If FIFA/referees could get to grips with the all in wrestling match that corners and free kicks have now become there'd probably be a much higher ratio of success.
  20. Very probable. "We tried but in the end we couldn't do the deal. It has to be right for all parties." Both Yanga-Mbiwa and Douglas have expiring contracts, very certain they're on that list of seven players. Debuchy will not be prioritized. Which list is this? Pardew spoke last week about having a list of 7 CB's that were going after in January. You'll find the quotes if you google them. Signing 7 new centre backs would be ridiculous. I think we only need one to go with the three we already have and should spend some of the money from the other six on a different position.

http://www.readytogo.net/smb/showpost.php?p=13674850&postcount=72 Sensible post shocker ruined by one thing Parspew - that's a new one for me. Though I do have a soft spot for Shitdrew! We need a poll to decide which derogatory macum version of Pardew upsets us most.
  22. Some great snippets from .com's excellent match report. With 25 minutes played everything was going according to plan: the sun was shining, the ball was already in the back of the mackem net and the pre-game colour and noise of the home support had receded quicker than Steven Fletcher's hairline. A hint of weakness in the centre of the park when Ba dropped back into midfield was enough to see James Perch appear and he threw himself into challenge after challenge as the mackems showed no signs of exploiting their extra man - Adam Johnson feeble and fellow wide man James McClean more interested in a Stars in Their Eyes-type homage to the suspended Cattermole than playing football. The final whistle brought muted celebrations from red and whiters aware of their momentary good fortune but unable to celebrate a home win against their hated rivals for the fifteenth time in sixteen wearside derbies. That commemorative mug factory surely still can't survive on "2-1" sales.... And looking beyond the local "bragging rights", that's just one home win in eight games for O'Neill - a run that was sufficient to see his pasty-munching predecessor driven out of town, after failing to deliver on his election promise of winning a derby.

Thats the thread i'm on about. Read through it, its fucking brilliant stuff. So in summary, Pardew was an idiot to substitute Colo Shola was shit that's why they took him off. O'Shea dominated Ba all game. Pardew was an idiot to take off a striker even though we were down to 10 men. Shola's goals against them don't really exist. Sometimes they amaze even me with their fuckwitedness. Aye, thats about the top and bottom of it. Oh..... and of course they're going to hammer us in the next derby............

Reading that starkly accurate observation makes me ponder on how it is almost immoral that the directors, management and players of Sunderland line their pockets at the expense of the poor wretched place, but wouldn't be seen there dead apart from matchdays, and then rush off to re-invest their income into the economy of Newcastle.
  25. But didn't Williamson play a significant number of games for a side who finished in the top 5 quite recently ?
