1. It's been brushed on in other threads but he deserves his own. I've been going to SJP for many decades and it was one of the finest spectacles I've seen, made even better as it seems to have irritated the chip on shoulder visiting supporters somewhat. The singer, Graeme Danby was superb and despite a world renowned career it must have been been a great moment for a true Newcastle fan to lead the fans into song immediately before a derby match. The noise when each chorus began was amazing and people who don't normally join in were singing their hearts out at the top of their voice. This "anthem" singing has to become a regular feature for big games, imagine him doing it before a cup quarter final or something ? Awesome - well done to whoever came up with the idea.
2. many in the media seem to think Beye is crap too, after the Reading match one of the pundits on SSN said newcastle played so well that "Even Habib Beye is starting to look like a bit of a player". Aye, someone in the pub mentioned that yesterday. How do these people get work? They do a two year apprenticeship selling Chronicles on Northumberland street then they get a job as a tabloid (or in some cases a broadsheet) sports reporter.
3. More like the winner of Saturday night's karaoke competition in Pennywell Club singing that old favourite an N and an E and a WC.

5. He was only ever that in the eyes of a few sycophants in the press and some rather deluded Sundlund supporters.
6. Just found out (courtesy of nufc.com) that the singer was Graeme Danby the world famous Geordie baritone. He was superb, I've seen him before at Gibside and he is extremely funny and entertaining on stage. Would love to have it on video - was it shown on Sky TV ?

8. You rate him a lot more highly than I do. Fair enough. Past Sunderland teams have had players who have really worried me when we've played them, Gabbiadini, Phillips etc. He just doesn't worry me and hence I can't rate him too highly. I thought Reid was their best player and he's 20 stone. Nuf said. What if he had someone like Keane, Defoe, Martins etc playing alongside him and 2 quality wingers whipping balls into the box? My point is that he's surrounded by s****! He plays most of the game up top on his own with his back to goal, feeding off long balls from the back. If you surrounded him with quality players he'd thrive. Dunno. Too many "what if's" to make me want to sign him. I'd rather he proved himself and also showed some ability to notch before spending the type of money they'd be asking. Better proven players will be available for that kind of money. No doubt! I don't think he'd represent particularly good value for money at all, but expecting a player to do more than he's done in a team of such poor quality is asking too much IMO. Poor quality - his team mates were certainly that ! Looks like Roy has invested his £45M shrewdly. Not. Keano theres only one Keano, Keano.............................................

10. Do you have a decent left peg ? If so Keane would probably pay £4M for you.
11. Have to say the scummy charvas who were goading the macums after the match looked like they were only there because they were too young to get served in the pub. Not the fighting elite methinks. Embarrassing really. Why can't they just let them go home in peace, after all they'd had a pretty rotten day hadn't they ?

13. Pretty bad even by her jaundiced sub-standard reporting ability. Would she have written "the match proved a horribly anticlimactic bonfire of the vanities" had her beloved Sunderland won in similar fashion. I doubt it. Despite watching all 90 minutes I must have missed "the occasional killer pass delivered by Sunderland's Andy Reid" In the name of professionalism she really needs to get over Mike Ashley, at the end of the day he's just a guy who's invested a lot of money in a football club enjoying himself and having some fun. She'd be better off climbing out of Keane's assole and reporting on the gutless tactically inept team he's created. Some chance. 14. I'm not sure he'd suit us, one OK season at the highest level and hardly ever finds the net. If we were looking for someone like him there are better options who've already proven themselves. Anyway does Quinn really have the final say in what happens ? There's is a club where the tail probably wags the dog (no Roy Keane pun intended)
15. Did OK but has a long way to go before he could be compared to Viduka. He has age on his side but thats about it, Viduka still does everything Jones does but better, and most importantly is always likely to get a goal.
16. Was Jones that good ? I'd heard the hype and was interested in seeing him first hand. Decent target man but a bit one paced and flat footed. Don't think he'll ever be a regular goalscorer either. Premiership quality ? I'd probably defer judgement until after next season. I think he did ok. If he'd had someone alongside him they might have caused us a few more problems. Me too. Keano theres only one Keano, Keano.............................
17. I reckon enrique's a brilliant player. Can't understand the rumours about riise when we've got a 21 year old who's better... He's no weak link, far from it. A typically jaundiced piece of sub-standard writing from the bitter macum slappa.

19. Yeah, it's a bit of a stomach problem actually.
20. Stephen 'Fat B@stard' Carr? You've got to be kidding. Steven Carr is anorexic compared to Andy Reid. He looks like he's come from the local pub team. FOUR million? How come none of the journalists have picked up on Keane's s**** buys like him and Miller, and Chopra? etc, etc, etc.
21. Stephen 'Fat B@stard' Carr? A mere middleweight next to Reid !

Andy Reid

Have you ever seen anyone with a physique like that trying to play football at the highest level ? Thing is he's probably their best player. Imagine your best player being 20 stone ? Sorry, of course he's not their best player is he - their best player is a ManU reserve they have on loan ( despite Keane spending £45M on players they own ) and they'd have beaten us if he'd been playing, wouldn't they, instead of losing yet again ? 23. have to say i find this very odd, there were large sections of the game where he was the only lad in black n white able to actually pass to a team mate, i thought he was quality, again Thought Barton was very good again. Always busy and available to help team mates at all times.
24. I thought there was a high level of BS (in the other sense) in the MOTD analysis, to be honest. We're doing much better for two main reasons. The team is playing in a relaxed and confident manner whereas under Sam they clearly looked burdened by the pressure. Secondly, we look far more like scoring because the team is set up to allow Owen to ghost into the box from deep positions, and his ability to read the game and get on the end of chances has always been very good. Keown was trying to say that we've changed from a long ball side to one that passes it on the ground, but I don't think that's right. Yesterday, we were playing just as many long balls as before, and our passing through the midfield, for most of the game, was pretty woeful. We've not suddenly changed from Bolton to Barcelona. The relationship between players and manager has improved and the team looks relaxed, but there's still a lot of work to be done. There always is Bob and it's even worse when messrs Hansen, Lawrenson and Shearer are on. They attempt to justify their "expert" status by making big statements, truth is most of them know, or care to know, very little about NUFC - just dropping predictable soundbites. I'd prefer it if they cut out the "punditry" and just showed us more of the action in the allotted time.
