Poor first half, much better second. Grew into the false 9 role and looked good creating from deep by the end. Has #10 potential maybe. Some absolutely woeful deliveries and attempts in the first half as mentioned though. I think next year will be a huge test for him. We won't cash in this summer imo, If we do it is because Howe thinks he won't evolve with the side. 4 or 5 new quality additions and it will be make or break time for him next year. It's more just showing how limited they are rather than a lack of effort imo. Murphy is a key example. Working really hard but lacks the composure and ability when it matters too much. That's going to be the difference with players we bring in and many that we have. What we have show flashes of quality between average and dross performances. What we bring in needs to be that step up and consistently quality.

Up until the last couple of games he had become so lost and frustrating. I've been a big fan and defender of him since his MLS days but had pretty much lost hope he could make it here. With a better team I still think he can be very useful but I'm still not convinced he will get the time and time on the right role to succeed. Nor that we cant just buy better now. If we buy a first choice RW I am happy with Miggy and Fraser as backup next year. I'm pretty sure he won't want another year being a squad player though. Maybe he will given the project.
