  1. Thought the government werent interfering lol How many was it that wrote letters to block it?
  2. But we wont touch Willems lol
  3. https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=622098625403856&id=506118766243558 CPL restart on Thursday. Tomi Ameobi still keeping the accent and Ameobi legacy alive.
  4. Not a chance we will finish as high as we did this season. We will water down the squad again this window and take the mackem loan approach that was another nail in their coffin.
  5. You know what saddens me among all that shit above, is that Shearer is involved with them with those shitty premier league team of the weeks. I don't blame him for taking the cash, but I'd admire him more if he told them to shove it up their arse. Wait I need a minute to compute are we saying Nike, EA, Budweiser & Coke aren't the good guys? Thank fuck for that. Thought Nestle was bad for a minute.
  6. PIF bid is done. It's not coming back. They will milk the sympathy and good press. PL will make a statement but it will be nothing other than a blanket.."we believe in our tests but are in the process of reviewing our policies to be even more efficient. we were very thorough, it was a complicated situation that needed time, unfortunately the ownership group decided they couldnt wait any further." Etc.. Our beat bet is Pallotta or someone else coming along. Nothing will come close to the wealth we would have got but we dont necessarily need it If we can find owners that will give decent support to a smartly hired manager. Seems as likely as the PIF bid being back on.
  7. Thought we had 2 people ready to announce a week or so ago. Changed their minds after the takeover fail? Or fictional to begin with?
  8. Wilson already replied and said no. Waiting for King and Brooks to read the facebook message, says they haven't read the message yet, so there is hope.
  9. Actually happy about that. Get willems back immediately!
  10. toontownman[/member] Do you have a One soccer account? Stifleaay[/member] I did. I cancelled the month to month last November considering there was next to no content. I was going to renew for the olympic qualifiers in March but have been holding for CPL start. Now they have scrapped the $9.99 monthly completely for $69.99 until december 31st. Pretty shitty given so many people are financially stretched right now and the content is even less than normal. I will more than likely begrudgingly sign up again as I want to support the league and watch it. The other option is paying $180 for "The Collective" but being in Saskatoon and seeing hopes of a team dashed (at least until 2022 now) I feel like that is another slap in the face for communities on the outside looking in that want a team. That is a huge missed opportunity to initiate new fan groups and grow existing supporter groups across the country that could mobilize to set up new teams for future expansion of the CPL. Essentially like the one soccer sign up, to get the collective you have to choose a club from the existing 8 rather than just staying neutral. For the collective you get the one soccer season pass, a home or away shirt of your choosing from any of the clubs, virtual meet and greet passes, name on a plaque at the ground and some other stuff. It's a good idea but floored when they could have had a neutral option and given away CPL jackets/balls etc instead of the shirt and then in SK for instance our existing supporter group could have signed up. That would have given us some more validity and credibility to grow and push for a team here. Instead we have to pay $30 more than season ticket holders when we dont have a team to be a season ticket holder at. I hope they just add in the neutral option. I'm just still pissy because I found out about the collective, the one soccer price bump and Newcastle takeover collapse in the same day. Ouch. Bad news about OneSoccer stopping their monthly subscription. I was about to sign up again myself a couple of days ago and it was still an option back then. I may now see if it’s worth me trying to sign up to the collective, it’s $120 more for me than the yearly OneSoccer subscription, however I have $50 in my Forge FC account when I paid to become a member but didn’t take up a season ticket. The only thing is Forge FC charge $30 to ship a shirt over to me and I don’t want to pay another $30 just to get my ‘free’ shirt. I was messaging one of the key men behind the Saskatoon bid a couple of months back. I have to say things sound overall positive on that front. They pretty much have the first stadium tied up, they have an owner/backer lined up, and they are in talks with the council to build a stadium in the city centre in conjunction with the councils drive to redevelop the city centre. I honestly expect it to be one of the next expansion teams announced. If you support one of the current 8 teams it's not a bad deal. It's likely $30 shipping regardless of getting it sent to someone else to send it to you right? With the SK bid things were rolling. I really believe we would have been in the CPL in 2021 had covid not stuck. This summer was the tipping point. Last year they ran a summer series of three games against Vancouver Whitecaps U23/TFC II and Calgary Foothills and put together the basis of a provincial team with some up and coming younger players and with each game they added a couple of amateur or leading university players into the squad. It was a litmus test to getting crowd and the city/province behind the team. We averaged around 3k for the three games, which considering the promo for it, weather and fact it the games weren't for anything or against really know teams it was a great start. What was planned for this summer would have been a natural progression, better opposition, upgrading the SK squad with better players and if the crowd had got near 5k for the games the owner likely would have pulled the trigger. Stadium would have been at the Exhibition grounds, far better than downtown in my opinion, which just doesn't have the infrastructure to cope with thousands of fans. Also has an existing old English style stand that seats 5k that would give it some character. As it is, everything is on hold, 2021 is out the window and even 2022 is a question mark. Hopefully the owner spearheading the project is still willing and able to keep committed. As a fans we are trying to keep some type of momentum going. We had some great momentum.

  12. Reubens and staveley take it over and then suddenly our primary sponsor is PIF for a record amount of money every year.
  13. Except for the google results which implicate him in fraud allegations. Exactly why Ashley will gleefully hand the keys over. Not my problem now.
  14. Completely agree. They were stitched up well by Liverpool, fleecing them for talent that simple never performed. Howe would be perfect for us given he wouldn't have a say in transfers.. I mean he wouldn't get transfers either but could have a few loans. Maybe he will still be available when Bruce gets sacked for us being bottom near the end of 2020?
  15. Will be putting energy towards the burgeoning grassroots Canadian league thats growing. Although even that has been shitted on for us. The city I live in was moving towards having a team but covid had fucked that at least until 2022 that is if the ownership group doesnt just fuck it off. All joy, all the time.
  16. Have absolutely no doubt we'll survive with room to spare again. People have been going on like the team's pool of talent isn't lower mid-table standard at the very lowest. Not that worried about the players and expect we will still bring in a couple of surprisingly half decent players. It is the manager that traditionally does best in his first season that will be the one bringing down the quality and being tactically out manoeuvred by practically all the other managers in the league that will be our undoing. It's the proportion of our a fanbase that the media will feed shit about how great a job bruce is doing under hard circumstances etc and we are where we deserve to be. That same proportion that will eat it up. It's sitting here knowing what might have been and the above press shit is just that which will alienate the rest of us even more. Fuck Ashley, fuck the PL, fuck the media, the pundits and other clubs that dont want us to succeed. I'm sick of our fanbase being ripped apart. This is our club and for too long we are fighting ourselves not the cunts making this shit for us all. We need to stick together and stick two fingers up.
  17. Doubt much changes for anyone while Ashley is in charge. Those that sworn off will stay that way and those that still turn up will still turn up (when fans are allowed back). If the club changes hands I think less people will come back than were prepared to up until today. People are jaded and untrusting, if someone takes over that isn't completely loaded, even then I think there will be a hesitancy and a period of mistrust before everyone that left considers coming back.
  18. I think we were all in the mood for an "I told you so post" Cheers Get used to it from other fans and pundits like keys ramming it down our throats and how we should he happy with Bruce and Ashley.
  19. Contemplating the same request tbh. Not sure why I'm refreshing pages, it's not like the takeover is happening. Glutton for punishment. Tbh I’ve found reading the anger and frustration from everyone else quite helpful. I’m not alone I’m feeling totally helpless and done with the club. We will all be back as much as we might even try to leave. Might just be until 2026 when ashley finally sells us as a non league club that the hope is enough for us to return.
