  1. Classic cycles of hope and denial. We have all known the truth we have just been happy to believe any of the lies that might lead to hope because the reality is so devoid of it. Something has to give at somepoint. The general public is starting to see what we have for the past decade. I do think he will sell sooner rather than later as he won't get a better chance to make money on the club. It's freefall from now on. He will absolutely poison the well on the way out though. He already has. Anyways, we should reserve this space for rafa love now. Best manager we have had since sir bobby and best person since hughton. He brought class and respectability back the club. As fans we had a connection back to the players and the club through rafa. It doesn't matter who comes in now they will always be in Rafa's shadow for most people.
  2. I don't really see why Ashley would be interested in keeping rafa if the club was being sold. That's up to the new owners. Likely it isn't being sold though and it's yet another insult to the history of the club and its fans. Garry monk sounds absolutely expected though. Someone cheap that had a good run with a team at somepoint in the irrelevant past. Ĺ
  3. I feel for you poor sods back home. I've invested in the new Canadian league here. It's league one at very best but exciting to be part of a start up of a league and chance to grow the sport here. Premiership rights got bought by DAZN so it's not even on tv next year. It's easy enough to remove myself from Newcastle even if a part of me will always hurt to do so.
  4. Do I Giggs with throwing a jaffacake out there? Whether it's a biscuit is more debatable than progress at this club.
  5. "Attempt" = will you take the same wage in different text font on the contract? Rondon gone, Perez off and now almiron to real Madrid? Sounds about right. No takeover, Redfearn first team coach and 150m for Denis wise to return to spend as d.o.f. It's grim but it was always going to get worse before it gets better. Just a case or how much worse and how much longer. Tip of iceberg most likely given our recent history.
  6. It's inevitable, the whole situation. It's also the usual that it can't just be simple for us fans. Couldnt just be gone. False hope, expectations raised..then finally after everything looked like it might work, the sucker punch.
  7. Why is Bielsa hanging out the back of our stadium This spying malarky is getting a bit much.
  8. Pretty sure at least Alan Smith was the fat mans signing, Ashley not fat sam that is. There was a bunch of media around Smith being one of Ashleys favourite players. I actually remember that summer at the time thinking it was our best window ever. Against most others it still wasn't bad tbf, don't remember us signing so many players that looked potentially good like that before or since. Viduka Barton Rozenhnal Geremi Smith Cacapa Enrique Faye Beye
  9. They can't cope with having to report on the overwhelming information flowing from the club and the takeover situation.
  10. That joke is as old as, well, the flintstones. Prehysterical?
  11. Well we have to make sure we have something to be negative about just in case something positive happens. There must be balance.
  12. I'd say the next 5-10 years, likely. Guess who wins again
  13. Ah.. but that was last week..this week....
  14. As long as you ended it with... "what was I talking about again?" I think it will be fine.
  15. He’s left the training ground already has he not He left his polos in his desk draw. Just popped in to get them.
  16. Is that Rafa sucking on a polo mint? Just reacting to the local rags
  17. Simple Step one: UncleBingo logs in to the fake Midhat Kadwai account he set up. Step two: finds Rafa Step three: hit follow. Repeat process for Nufc official Step four: local press get excited. Step five: Lee Ryder gets excited two days after everyone else with an exclusive that has already been reported. Then gets all pouty when people point it out.
  18. This thread! It's on, it's off, i love you, I hate you, I love you.
  19. How's your asking 5000 for a 500 pound car theory coming along? Get back to me when you understand the difference between a theory and a metaphor. If you seriously think Ashley has been an active and serious seller for years then be my quest but I think you find yourself pretty alone in that corner. Because nobody has matched his price, not rocket science but seems a bit hard for you to understand. Unbelievably naive. It's incredibly naive and it just shows some people will believe pretty much anything Ashley wants. Wait and see and I'm going to love it when this takeover happens
  20. Tragic. Ever more so due to his managerial success this season with Orient. RIP. Thoughts to the family and Leyton Orient.
  21. It's a moot point and a non starter. Rafa is almost as much of an asset and attraction buying the club than the clubs potential. I get the bring in your own people mantra but it's pretty clear in this case there is no need. In almost every way it would be a disaster not bringing Rafa back. Immediate alienation of fans and no guarantees even Mourinho would be a success while Rafa has the players, staff and public eating out of his hand. Not ruling out a Big Sam style exit if he doesn't work for the owners though. Barring a complete clash in philosophy and support in rafas conversation with new owners he will be here. Still think however this will run and he will be out of contract before new owners are in.
