Old pic. In training today. Will be the update soon.
-
To be fair he said something along the lines of "I'm convinced they will have contacted him. (to see if he is interested)" complete guess work based on a hunch. Terry would be a worth successor to fill the two faced Pardew void. Just the type Ashley likes.
-
Glad we can finally close the takeover saga.. oh no..more ambiguous news and another unbearable week. Like GDM says maybe the PL/FA or other have strung out the process so they have missed out to another bidder. Realistically we know we can't have nice things though. This will rumble on longer before it comes to the same conclusion of Ashely still in charge, fuck all spent on new players and relegation.
-
Shame. Out of nearly everyone linked Gerrard was by far my least favourite. He would have been easier to despise.
-
Obviously waiting/hoping for something. - correspondence from the club and Ashley - premier league clearance - a nod a pay off from Ashley for the fakeover God knows, one god, all gods or no God.

Last season was a struggle and we are likely to lose at least 5 of our best players. Would be a miracle if we survived. We need at least 6 high quality players and another couple more quality first team players and a manager that can bring the players together. That's presuming we don't lose anyone else. Hayden, longstaff, Schar, Lejune, Fernandes, Dubravka, shelvey could all need replacing. Saivet and colback are going to get lots of minutes aren't they.
-
Must be selling Dubravka for €50m. Would be our management logic to spend €40m on a GK, 15m on Dann and start the season with muto and Gayle up top.

Ashley is reverting NUFC back to the pre-Rafa model of buying players and giving them to the 'head coach'. Their job is then to make the player impress so the player can then be sold on at a profit. We're back to being a stepping stone club. Do well at NUFC and you'll be sold on to a better club. So Charnley makes the final call on who to sign on recommendations of Scouting team??? Charnley bungles his way through nicksons recommendation list and the first deal he gets to that doesn't fall through wins. Obviously the top 5 are ruled out for cost, insultingly low gesture bid aside.

Life long Sheffield United fan, former player. Just led them into premier league. No chance he drops the chance of that experience for one of the most poisonous jobs in football. Would be a good fit for our squad. Loves 3 at the back with 2 marauding ball playing and attacking centre backs. Would be solid in the championship where we are heading. A sad reflection of where we are as a club (Harsh on wilder tbh) Only ever getting someone out of a job. Flores followed rafa once before at Valencia and loves the premier league. Van bronckhorst fits the mould working with youth and the squad he has on the cheap. Blanc put his name out there but there has to be a reason he has been out of work so long we will end up with someone far more underwhelming.

Muto and Gayle... dat physical presence. Hope we play 4-5-1.
-
Great sequence of headlines there. - Scores 12th goal of the season - Shortlisted for Barclays player of the month - Nominated for PFA fans player of the month - Signs for Leicester.
-
What we don't end up spending will be carried over to the January window...

This is it like, Wullie. Depressing that in our time supporting this club we've gone from breaking the transfer world record to being rock bottom of the premier league food chain. Used to mock the mackems for being a yo yo club and got annoyed when they labbeld us so. European football was so long ago it is beyond comprehension how much the club has eroded under Ashley. It was slipping rapidly before under shepherd but nothing like this.

Heard it through the vine the flight number was actually T-MATO

Probably a lot more than we'll do with the other £24m Nah that's a weeks worth of using the money as toilet paper for Ashley.

I've thought that for a number of years. It's a seriously interesting point. The Jarrow march? Where did all the bottle go? My grandfather worked down the mines. My great uncles fought and died in the great war. It seems we're a group of 'Geordie Shore' babes and impotent men. Or am I being cruel?? No, you're quite right. But to be honest, the vast majority of people in this country have always bent over and took what ever the ruling class decide to shaft them with; that's why we've never had a revolution. The Jarrow March, Glasgow and Liverpool (and some other areas, but not many) are exceptions. I'm genuinely shocked at the amount of brownbeaten, weak, softcockery going on with the club's supporters at the moment. I've never experienced a group of weaker men. ..and women. Get with the times and get your marigolds on.

Charnely the only board member and no first team staff what a club Its fucking criminal to think we dont have a board of directors no one nada just fucking thumbhead. 1 senior executive I mean really the entirety of our board of directors earns 115k Fucking non league shit that man It's working for Ashley though. All about the £££££
-
The new head coach was only going to be allowed one other coaching staff to work with so won't take that long to put the coaching team together.
-
The modern day habib beye. Don't blame him in the slightest.
-
If it was that, whats the delay in releasing the statement? What would be the delay if they knew the deal was on or off? Seems like they have been pressured into saying something and are waiting for some suitable info to share? Could just also have a charnley of their own that is lax in doing things.
-
Nah. "Humbled by the support, still committed and doing everything they can, other factors at play but still hopeful"
-
Coming into his last year of contract too.

Can see that. I thought he was abysmal at Everton. Spent a ton of money and never got anywhere. Was more McLaren than Pardew I'd say but he certainly was defiant at the end when he had to go which was reminiscent of Pardew hanging on. I remember thinking we avoided the Martinez bullet at the time as he was linked to us prior to Everton. Where he had most success he followed inferior coaches with neutral styles in Kenny jackett and Steve Bruce. He struggled with switching Everton from a fiercely drilled defensive side to the opposite and would have a similar problem here imo. Difference is while Everton fans worshipped moyes they also had no issue with the style. If there was any element of Rafa's philosophy that could possibly grate on Newcastle fans it was the forced marriage of pragmatic and a sensible approach to tactics to the longing mentality of an all out free flowing attacking style many fans crave. Martinez would be seen as the latter but would likely soon find out, like rafa, you can't play that way with the players we have and be consistently successful. It's arguably a glass half full/empty and case of mentality if you have or can make confident players.

This Hear hear. Always did his best and loved the club and fans. Can't blame anyone for wanting out. Almiron must be fucking fuming he moved here, albeit with a huge grin still on his face
