I'd be over the fucking moon if we got Baines. Can't bloody wait to play him in my new copy of fifa 14, when it comes out.
-
I'd say cheeky loan bid for Mangala coming up but think he is still recovering from a long term knee injury. Reyes will make sense given the cost and the fact it will be easier to justify Lascelles being sold in January.
-
I think the only upside with the Lejeune injury is that we won't sell Lascelles in this window now. January though... ..can't have 5 CB's on the books man. Costly.

Glad this is looking like it's finally sorted. Looks worth the wait on the fee. Should hopefully see some traction on more incoming deals now. HA!

This is the baseline for me seeing how crazy everything else is. Sure Cashley will hold on to him. Looking at another 20m profit once he gets called up for an England friendly this year.
-
LB, AM another striker and a replacement for Hayden if he goes. Do that and i am placated. If we don't we have gone backwards, not least when others have gone forward. Even with those players, this season, safety will be far from guaranteed.

Just a knee jerk.

What could go wrong?

He has kept saying we will see how the window goes. If we manage to get the amount of players in he wants (even if they aren't first choice) it might be enough to pursuade him to ink a short term extension. He is the master of ownership mind games though. I agree he might just hold out for a change in ownership too. Wouldn't surprise me to see him turn up the heat in the media to incite the fans on the sly.

We have already made a profit regardless.

https://english.kyodonews.net/news/2018/07/f98bb50a6374-soccer-muto-on-verge-of-sealing-newcastle-deal-source.html As he looks ahead to a potential move to England before the close of the transfer window, Muto said, "My goal is to net 10 goals, a number I haven't reached during a season (overseas)." He's the striker Newcastle DESERVES, but not the one it NEEDS right now. Provided we actually bring in another striker capable of 15-20 goals I am happy with Muto. Has pace and works hard. Will be a like replacement for Gayle.
-
Expect we are keeping him unless we get all the transfer business done (Strikers, LB, AM, CB) and a replacement lined up. Could be a last minute deal. BAHAHAHAHA sorry just re-read and realised how laughable that first sentence sounded.

Fire up the monitoring machine.

Fulham can't think they can play us at what we are best at and win.

Full respect and all the best to the Chancellor. Class imo and he will show it headscratching why it didn't work out but hopefully whomever rafa brings in will work better for him.
-
Likewise Atsu if he stays fit. Seems odd we would bring anyone else in unless we shift Aarons and Ritchie. 4 wingers is pretty squad standard, especially when Perez has played out there and we have a couple of young-uns in the reserves too.

"Rafa, you will be happy to know the Meyler deal has been completed as requested. He drove a hard bargain and we caved on wages but he is happy to be here and away from Hull."
-
Been linked to Joe Bryan before so could definitely see that being true. Regarding the rumoured contract offers that looks like the start of the predictable defensive offensive from club in retaliation to the Rafa quotes. "Hey look we offered Rafa this great contract with 100m to spend, yet its still not enough for greedy Rafa" Doesn't mention the 100m is based over 10 windows with 100 stipulations and requirements, last say with Charnley and Barnes and zero investment in the training grounds or Acadamy etc..
-
Wasn't it just a couple of days ago the story broke and said "Atlanta value the player at £20m" Us "offering" £10m is totally believable Yes. Judging by the reaction of their fans online, they regard that offer as near laughable. Bayern have bid $12 (8m) for Alphonso Davies so not that far off the mark to be honest.

Andre Schurrle. Nufcblogs has outdone themselves this time.

He has a great eye for goal and good positioning up top. He just doesn't feel right for me at #10 but I don't know where he properly fits in with our formation. He doesn't look bad up top but he is too lightweight and gets marked out of the game. Arguably his best form for me was when he was out wide up top in his first season or so but we have better players for there now. Those stats don't lie though if he can keep that kind of form up, remembering he looked invisible for much of the season, lightweight and sloppy in possession at times, maybe he would be ok still starting for us at 10. I think for me its lofty expectation of wanting a Hatem with trickery, creativity and ability to score blinding goals or create them out of nothing. Ironic when his best play also came from out wide. We simply won't pay for a player that can do that and Ayoze will give his all. IF (as we all know this looks like it isn't happening as usual) we come out of the window with a top draw or pretty decent front man that can actually create some space and hold up the ball we might see a greater improvement of Ayoze as a secondary striker too. I think he has just never settled and had the chance to settle into any true position. I am not against keeping him there if he continues his form I just hope we also get someone else capable of playing there.
