I was just thinking the same thing. So MLS. I hate it. Let the players and managers get into the dressing room ffs. -

When we hoped for a reaction we have put our heads down and look out of ideas. Let's have it next half. -

Gordon again seems nullified after he gets a yellow which doesnt help either. -

Midfield 3 isn't working. Isak is only influential out wide, which we saw last year. Defence shaky and tripps having a torrid game. Half time rethink needed. Brighton have been good but we just haven't clicked yet. -

I don't know what the hold up is with some of them. Shahar, Sanusi and Mukasa were set to be signed nearly 3 months ago, Zefi for weeks too. Would be a huge shame if they have missed the window to be involved in the Uefa youth league because it wasn't wrapped up today. Got no clue if the same rules apply to youth as senior for registration and eligibility. Zefi especially seems like someone that would have featured for us.

Can't believe I missed this until now. Amazing stuff. Can't help but post the link (I'm presuming again lol)

Good luck Isaac! Hopefully Hendrick follows.

Champions League 2023/2024: Group F (Newcastle, Milan, Dortmund, PSG)
toontownman replied to Marko NUFC's topic in Football
Fuck yeah. What a group! Have zero expectations on the team for this year's CL. It's going to be a blast! -
Great move for him after his stint in Scottish championship last year. He was highly rated by Howe a year or so ago.

U-turn from Luton They had a better opportunity pop up. Sucks for us and Hayden.

Don't.. haha. Phil Neville was already a guest assistant coach over the summer.

Toon fan John Herdman leaving Canada to take over TFC. https://www.tsn.ca/1.2000942 CSA is a mess. Also rumours a few top players wanted him out and he had taken Canada as far as he could. Gamble for him going into club football for the first time but he can't make TFC any worse and will get lots to spend. Not convinced the CSA has any pennies or brain cells to rub together to hire someone credible and decent. Golden generation of players and an automatic WC squad hosting in 2026 might entice a few if they have the money.

Incredible he wasn't booked.

I don't think we panicked. Quite the opposite. We got lulled into a self sense of security and left increasingly massive gaps in the middle. We got too nonchalant in CM and defensively and let Liverpool do what they do best. Passive is exactly right. We thought we were managing the game and did what Klopp wanted us to do.
-
Proper class today. Really chuffed for him and a real shame he didn't have the match winning goal. I get the uproar with the sub but we still need to pace him fitness wise. This is the first time he wasn't totally out of gas at that point in the game but I imagine the fitness team don't think he is quite there year in relation to keeping him fit all season.
-
It was but Tonali was definitely huffing and puffing and Gordon was run ragged. Did look like he had more left in the tank though. Tonali was making mistakes like Bruno leaving gaps. We have looked vulnerable through the middle all pre-season. We leave too many holes and the last 20 minutes of the game we invited liverpool in to fill them and we paid for it. It is a hard learning curve for a young squad. We didn't take our chances, of which there were too many. They took the two they had. We have to be more clinical, especially against the best teams. Same last season, looks the same this year.
-
Embarrassed. Could be a huge moment for Howe and the team this year. Lets hope they get back on track next week. Finishing that lets us down again. The game should have been out of site. We simply aren't clinical enough, still.

of course

Our final balls and general passing has been horrific at times today. Real basic stuff not there when we need it.
-
All part of the plan. Howe says no incomings unless we have an injury in the squad in the last week. Agent Botman goes down in the 86th. We will get our CB yet.
