  1. I dont think so. Especially if we shift Longstaff and willock. The former frees up 50m ish due to homegrown PSR rules.
  2. Absolute calamity when his super agent traveled to toon. Someone's getting fired. ..checks back, to bad its not the shit journalists.
  3. Fair point with the money saved we could by Axel Disasi and Rowe. Maybe a loan for Rashford too. Something to think about..
  4. Im waiting for the ref bump and Liverpool music hitting, running down the aisle with money in the bank to piss on our parade.
  5. Missing the natural Graeme Jones as Arthur Cox picture.
  6. More from the bbc. https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/articles/cy7n2030rx8o Ross has a great reputation in the game and at the club. I assume (dangerous) he is aligned with Eddie and they share the same club vision. I understand the strange backwards approach not getting DOF in to hire his people etc. But it depends how we have set up our hiring process. If we already have a united vision and identity/pathway then we are really looking for someone to actualize the plan and build upon it. Different from Ashworth who was kind of starting at ground zero. Might point towards more reasons why Mitchell didnt stick. He might well have wanted more changes to fit his vision while we were essentially happy with the one we had that Howe liked. I'd expect this whole search for DOF is to continue work and compliment the plan not recreate the wheel. If that's the case they should fit with who we have at the club, and the hiring process built around that idea.

    João Pedro

    When Enrique stroked his throat
  8. While I am sure its is a non goer for Ekitike I dont fully get behind the notion the we "only sign him because Isaks off" and "we won't spend X on a rotation backup." Spending 20-30m more now on a player we know and have scouted extensively could be sound acting on the market and an opportunity to save money in a year or two. If he blows up again next season his price goes up another 20-30. It was pretty widely reported Howe was looking at tweaking to 2 up top if Pedro had signed and we have so many games I doubt whomever comes in as a second striker gets that much less game time than Isak. Ekitike aside you could say the same about Wisser or Watkins. They would get game time absolutely. Osula will get more minutes but I dont think he is ready for 2nd choice yet. Also has anyone seen our striker depth? And how it compare to other top 6 clubs. I know PSR is a factor but I dont think spending a huge chunk of change on a second striker that can play with or rotate with Isak is at all unreasonable and pretty normal for teams competing at the top. In fact most of them have 3 or 4 these days (PSR head start acknowledged). Its a bit nerve wracking and galling an amount when we get told PSR is always an issue but if we are going to shell out more in a year anyway now makes sense and could save us money.

  10. Ekitike only for sure.
  11. There is little doubt if he can stay fit Wilson could still contribute in the PL. There is also no doubt he will continue to have fitness issues that hold him back. Each time it seems to take him longer to get up to speed. He just looked so poor this past year for us. A bit like Willock, with where we are at now, we can't afford to have passengers on the pitch to give the neccesary minutes to players to get up to speed. Kinda a shame the reserves dont seem to be used for that like it used to be.
  12. Depends who the bring in really.
  13. Think next year is going to be pretty wide open for the league. Lots of interesting signings all round. Just need to get the 4/5 players we need to keep up.
  14. 50m. Fucking delighted we weren't near him. Wasn't he mooted to come to us for nearer 30m last year? Madness inflation. Shame Forest are being gutted. Canny signings for Spurs though. Kudus and MGW are fantastic additions.
  15. Could sweeten the deal with offering Targett. Should cover most of that £86m
  16. Ekitike would make so much sense if his price tag was 30-40 million less than the current £86m. Its a non starter for us lol
  17. A bold move. Not too surprised though. Already been reported other clubs are interested, Everton included. We can hold out to near 15m. That extra PSR head room could be massive.
  18. Can play all across the front line too. A year out of contract expiry 40-50m seems reasonable. Not sure they will take that like! Also, while I get the not wanting to come and not be the top striker thought I dont buy it. A) it was widely reported we would be adjusting formation to play two upto if Pedro came, there would at least be that flexibility in games. B) We have so many games, its the same in midfield and potentially bringing in another there. There is no question everyone gets minutes with the amount of games, rotation and injuries. C) Potential players not coming here as they are worried playing second fiddle is rare loser mentality (especially for forwards) most players bet on themselves to be that person and become the main main. We are in CL and only going one direction long term.
  19. Munda, Miley and Finneran of course. I'm confident we will bring a CM in if longstaff goes. Absolutely if Willock goes too. As long as it doesn’t turn out to be an either or with another versatile forward.
  20. Seemed like an age (also much longer than it actually was) since we had a proper goal scoring number 9. He was EVERYTHING we needed from a striker when he came. Quality player, top lad and amazing seeing an England striker playing for us again. Proper deadly infront of goal and led the top like a boss. Wish him all the best. Hope he goes abroad and gets minted.
