  1. There are so many similarities between England and NUFC. The picking policy seems to work along the same lines, chose the names not what is blatantly going to be a better team. Your not wrong, we arent the only team incapable of being solid at the back.
  2. Carrick is woefull. SWP's is as hot and cold as it comes. Lampard hasnt been as uber shit as he normally is on an up point. BBC are lapping Dyer up.. he is doing ok.
  3. Dont see Arsenal Letting Hoyte go tbh. Looks very good at Full Back and in the Centre certainly will play a huge part in Arsenals future.
  4. If.. he said it ^-^ Will be a nice tonic for Emre's lawyer though. Stupid really, there is no justice..same with the italians in the summer. Will be interesting to see if Feyernoord overturn their UEFA Cup ban.
  5. Alot of the premiership chairman are buddies. It doesnt get in the way of signing players and going head to head. Im sure there are gentlemans rules of war between the chairmen, but when it comes down to it I doubt it makes too much difference, if it betters their club they will more than likely do it. Its very much a case of dont shit where you sleep. One thing normally affects everyone else.
  6. Does that go for Dyer too? Dyer/Parker and Martins situations are completely different. Martins will walk into the Nigeria side anytime he wants. Dyer and Parker are trying to re-establish themselves back into the England team. As for the respect and professionalism that goes for any player, Dyer especially is indebted to the Club for sticking by him when most surrounding the club would have loved to see him on the scrap pile permenantly. Its up to him and every other player to treat the club with respect..Its also up to the staff and higher ups in the club to do the same back.
  7. Everyone has their own agenda and history. Like at club level some players dont get on with some managers and have past aggreivances.. Had this been a competitive match of any significance I could see the outrage. But Oba has played more matches this season than he ever has and he knows how much we rely on him. At the end of the day it has to be down to the player who they want to play for. Its up to the relevant FA to decide whether or not they pick the players in the future. Whilst I disagree with the constant increase in "player power" there is no point having someone in your squad if they have any inclination not to be there. The respect and professionalism has to work both ways.
  8. They surely cant ban him from playing for his club side? thats madness! Its up to the Nigerian FA whether they want him to play for them again, but they cant have any control over his club career. Not without compensating us anyways.
  9. Tough choice between Fabregas and Gerrard. But I picked Gerrard as the expectation might be a bit much on the young Fabregas. Whilst there is no doubting Henry and Rooney would be pivitol players Strikers are always confidence players I wouldnt want to build my side around people that might blow hot and cold. Cannavaro is too old, Messi too young, Im happy with Given and Harper I dont think Buffon would give us anything much more. Then Ronaldinho isnt really the leader of men or someone I would rely on all the time. If there is one player that will consistently be there when you need him, its Gerrard. He is an organiser, leader and all round a fantastic player..the ideal basis for any team for me. Fabregas would come a close second though.
  10. You think the Spain Friendly is more important than the next 12 games?
  11. Actually thought he looked like he had lost some weight since returning, shame he didnt gain any talent in the process. Great news which means Nobby can slot back in at RB again. Hopefully indefinately this time.
  12. he has no problem identifying them, seems getting them here, getting their clubs to release them and getting our chairman to act professionally is the problem. I still think we need a DOF regardless of whether its Roeder or not. This window again shows why. The manager/head coach needs to concentrate on the team, Roeder needs the transfer pressure lifted off him. That said there is no point bringing in someone that he might not get along with as the DOF and Manger will need to work in tandem. Tailor made for a Shearer-Roeder partnership unfortunately, if he lasts.
  13. Back in the summer for £5m for our 4th striker.
  14. Roeder to DOF Scholari in as coach perfect. More likely to see Scholari at the smoggies than here though.
  15. chelsea, the manure wankfest might drive me to suicide. but Manure would be deserved winners if so, begrudgingly.
  16. I thought 1 and 2 depended on whether we had won or lost, thats how it goes round here isnt it? Bits of both tbh.
  17. Disgusting to be honest. No doubt UEFA will eventually get pushed into banning.. and then the case will go to the courts to overule and reinstate as per usual. Didnt someone throw a motor bike off one of the stands in a Milan derby a couple of years ago.. I mean how did they even get it in to begin with?
  18. Maybe he was to be included but has pulled out? Well i will take it as that, just so it makes me think he is more committed!
  19. The headphones are hearing aids tbh.. is there anyone in that stand under 40? At least he is looking at the sport pages... probably just looking at the probable teams do be do...
  20. where? Thought I was on Crack.. just went back on .co.uk to check and its gone...! but sanity was restored... http://www.newcastle-online.com/nufcforum/index.php?topic=35703.0
  21. Only good news... but to be honest he is just publicly announcing what we at the least should be expecting he do over the next couple of months. He has a 6 month advantage on the last summer window he had, and he already has the targets from the January window under consideration. I cant help but think although its looking like sound thinking, its just piling more pressure on himself and the players he gets in.... ....either way its a lose lose situation that will have somone whinging.
  22. Confused, why the article on .co.uk about him being called up? I would have thought he or we had requested he didnt go though, we play Liverpool 3 days later, he is trying to impress. Makes sense.
  23. Great call to have Foster there, personally i would have dropped Robinson for James. James has been at least as good as all three of those keepers. Good to see Dyer back and Barton included. Still more than a few players that shouldnt be in there.

    This season

I think he has done well, he has always handled himself properly. He has alot of bad points but he continues to do more good than bad at this club, even if we are stepping forward very slowly. Barring a billionaire take over I dont think we will get anyone better. He is still relatively inexperienced in the managerial game and learning and looking to improve all the time. Biggest dissapointments are his substitutions and questionable tactical noose. But he is learning all the time. Consistency is the key to any sucess. I just worry he hasnt got the experience around him to turn to when he needs it. A Director of Football would improve us no end. Roeder is clearly not happy juggling both.
