Baba had a good match, he had some dodgy defensive moments yes. but on the whole was good considering how long he has been out. The comments about him constantly giving the ball away is nonsense, he actually looked better than normal coming forward and linked up well with Milner. Id have him in ahead of anyone else we have at LB. He is too easily pushed off the ball though and can make a rash challenge too many. Hopefully he can stay fit and improve now. Have him in the team over Carr a million times over.

Aye, I'm happy. My team won, Bellamy was plagued by bad luck otherwise he'd have scored 4. Imagine him in our team playing alongside Martins instead of Dyer, something Newcastle fans would be over the moon about if it happened. Owen for Bellamy this summer maybe? By the way, using doesn't make it any less abusive than using the words. No need. That would be a great piece of business, but hardly likely is it ? He was superb yesterday and showed he has lost none of his desire and passion, just glad he didn't round it off with goals. You're right Martins and Bellamy would terrify any premiership defence. The booing yesterday was pretty minimal - it's always gonna be audible - but no one around where I was sitting joined in which probably indicates the majority of NUFC fans still appreciate him. If only we could get him back in a B&W shirt ?? How would swapping some thats likely to score 15-20 goals a season for one that would struggle to score 10 be a good piece of business? Dont get me wrong bellamy is a great player but he isnt half the player owen is. Which we will see next season. Owen and Martins will be a much better partnership than Bellars and Martins IMO. The flack Owen gets on this board is ridiculous.

Distin, Ben Haim, Sidwell and Tuncay all on bosmans wouldnt go a miss!
-
looking forward to watching him on football first. Looked good against Fulham on FF. Solid and throws his body infront of anything he can. Wasnt as confident in the air as I would have expected him to be, but today I hear he was the opposite. Against Fulham he looked very composed on the ball, and not in a beligerant Bramble way. Given a solid partner Id easily pick him first amoungst what we have. Gooch and Woodgate Gooch and Distin certainly wouldnt be a bad shout, did he sign a new contract in the end? either way I think if we wanted Distin we would have bought him in January.

Ridiculous. The place should have at least gone to the team that didnt qualify from Feyernoord group. Fact is you could give them a bye in the next round aswell.. both us and spurs will bottle it before we get to the final.
-
I was hoping along the same lines, ie forcing him to play for them every week. maybe the ROI can follow suit with Carr. Great news for us really if true, very poor play by the Nigerian FA that have messed the lad around enough already. Hard for Oba..good news for us.
-
It wont happen because we might possibly be playing 24 hours later and we dont want the pitch wrecked, also its alot of money for Milan fans to pay to get here. Although, brownie points that will swing in our favour when we swoop for Kaká and Pirlo in the summer!

In the latest Owen interview they said he has every chance of being fit enough to return at the end of March too... ..although Im happy to hope for May any earlier is a bonus. N'Zogs injury and Emres just keep getting pushed back

Crouch has been very frustrating tonight. Carrick poor throughout and Lampard has had a bad second half.
-
There are so many similarities between England and NUFC. The picking policy seems to work along the same lines, chose the names not what is blatantly going to be a better team. Your not wrong, we arent the only team incapable of being solid at the back.
-
Carrick is woefull. SWP's is as hot and cold as it comes. Lampard hasnt been as uber shit as he normally is on an up point. BBC are lapping Dyer up.. he is doing ok.
-
Dont see Arsenal Letting Hoyte go tbh. Looks very good at Full Back and in the Centre certainly will play a huge part in Arsenals future.
-
If.. he said it ^-^ Will be a nice tonic for Emre's lawyer though. Stupid really, there is no justice..same with the italians in the summer. Will be interesting to see if Feyernoord overturn their UEFA Cup ban.

Alot of the premiership chairman are buddies. It doesnt get in the way of signing players and going head to head. Im sure there are gentlemans rules of war between the chairmen, but when it comes down to it I doubt it makes too much difference, if it betters their club they will more than likely do it. Its very much a case of dont shit where you sleep. One thing normally affects everyone else.

Does that go for Dyer too? Dyer/Parker and Martins situations are completely different. Martins will walk into the Nigeria side anytime he wants. Dyer and Parker are trying to re-establish themselves back into the England team. As for the respect and professionalism that goes for any player, Dyer especially is indebted to the Club for sticking by him when most surrounding the club would have loved to see him on the scrap pile permenantly. Its up to him and every other player to treat the club with respect..Its also up to the staff and higher ups in the club to do the same back.

Everyone has their own agenda and history. Like at club level some players dont get on with some managers and have past aggreivances.. Had this been a competitive match of any significance I could see the outrage. But Oba has played more matches this season than he ever has and he knows how much we rely on him. At the end of the day it has to be down to the player who they want to play for. Its up to the relevant FA to decide whether or not they pick the players in the future. Whilst I disagree with the constant increase in "player power" there is no point having someone in your squad if they have any inclination not to be there. The respect and professionalism has to work both ways.
-
They surely cant ban him from playing for his club side? thats madness! Its up to the Nigerian FA whether they want him to play for them again, but they cant have any control over his club career. Not without compensating us anyways.

Tough choice between Fabregas and Gerrard. But I picked Gerrard as the expectation might be a bit much on the young Fabregas. Whilst there is no doubting Henry and Rooney would be pivitol players Strikers are always confidence players I wouldnt want to build my side around people that might blow hot and cold. Cannavaro is too old, Messi too young, Im happy with Given and Harper I dont think Buffon would give us anything much more. Then Ronaldinho isnt really the leader of men or someone I would rely on all the time. If there is one player that will consistently be there when you need him, its Gerrard. He is an organiser, leader and all round a fantastic player..the ideal basis for any team for me. Fabregas would come a close second though.

You think the Spain Friendly is more important than the next 12 games?
-
Actually thought he looked like he had lost some weight since returning, shame he didnt gain any talent in the process. Great news which means Nobby can slot back in at RB again. Hopefully indefinately this time.
-
he has no problem identifying them, seems getting them here, getting their clubs to release them and getting our chairman to act professionally is the problem. I still think we need a DOF regardless of whether its Roeder or not. This window again shows why. The manager/head coach needs to concentrate on the team, Roeder needs the transfer pressure lifted off him. That said there is no point bringing in someone that he might not get along with as the DOF and Manger will need to work in tandem. Tailor made for a Shearer-Roeder partnership unfortunately, if he lasts.
-
Back in the summer for £5m for our 4th striker.
-
Roeder to DOF Scholari in as coach perfect. More likely to see Scholari at the smoggies than here though.
