  1. The last time we had a chance to win it we didn't bottle it. The shithead manager threw it away to feed his ego. We were tearing Sporting Lisbon apart until Dyer came off injured, the team bottled a great oppurtunity in my eyes. Like the last two FA cup finals and the Marseille game we failed to turn up and play to at least an accpetable standard.
  2. WIN Of course we have the chance, of course we can.. its down to whether we bottle it again or continue the momentum of the intial stages and pick up the results we can acheive. There is enough talent in our squad, but we will need a bit of luck and everyone to be on top of their game.
  3. Would be suprised if we didnt go for Harper Solano Taylor Bramble Baba Milner Dyer Butt Duff Sibbers Martins Like to see Luque get a few mins, expect he probably will aswell.
  4. Alot of Evertons success can be attributed to Alan Irvine if you ask me. He did great things for us at youth level and for the first team and was a big loss when he left. No suprise things turned when he and moyes worked together.
  5. He is fecking 17, if he isnt playing well at 21 then theres a problem. We as a country put far too much pressure on any emerging talents and the press does their very best to break them before then. Like mentioned he is at possibly the best club for development, rightfully has been dropped out of the england reckoning and given a chance to develop. The press and public just need to back off and let him develop. Guess it wouldnt be a problem if the people in this country ten years older than him could string two passes together for the national team.

    Hugo Viana

Everyone needs a talented mate to leach unto, just to make themselves feel a bit more special. Its ok my career has gone wrong, my best buddy is the best player in the world, im part of his career.
  7. Im still excited the next day. Will be a huge lift for the club, just to have him back out on the training pitch, even bigger when he can train lightly with the squad. Lets just see what the reaction to this is next week though. Fingers crossed.
  8. Godsmark is quite highly rated aswell, quickest player at the club apparently. Will be interesting to see who can break through over the next 3/4 years.
  9. can see Kris Commons going somewhere like the mackems.
  10. exactly tbh. Although conditions hardly helped him on Saturday. He hasnt got the sharpness at the moment, he is still a great stopper though. Clearly a long way off Shay though now. The form he was on a few years ago was equal to shay's but then he got injured and Lazuras stayed in nets for the following two years. Really he should have moved on, but he loves life here, has got a degree and studied to be a referee and I think is generally content with life in the comfort zone. Shame but thats his choice maybe he had no other ambition but to play for us.

    Gooch

He would certainly do Sgt.Slaughter proud as GI-Gooch
  12. Its funny the West Ham supporters I know are ok, and were livid with Pardew's sacking. I would love to see them go down just for that. Id fully expect us to be in for Ferdinand in the summer if so, but that may depend on WBA going up.
  13. I was reasonably impressed with Babayaro, his passing was simple but effective, he made some decent runs forward. Was very much shaken and low on confidence, which is understandable given the season he has had and the events 24hours previous to the game. He needs to really work on his defensive side and toughen up a bit. I just hope he can keep fit as he will get better if he has a decent run in the side. He is leagues ahead of Ramage, Taylor, Carr or anybody else we currently have at the club. Will be good back up next season. He is seems well liked amoungst the players and staff.
  14. Well he will line up Bramble and Taylor in the centre Thursday, that game and the return leg will have a huge baring on who lines up with Gooch against Wigan. Two solid shows from the both of them might even force Gooch to the bench. By the time we play in the league again its likely to be Nobby Gooch Taylor/Bramble Baba IMO. Taylor and Bramble have it all to prove in the Uefa. That said I would be suprised if we lined up the same as Saturday against Wigan.
  15. From a structual and visual point of view it would be amazing to extend the Gallowgate around to match the leazes, giving a horseshoe effect. Like mentioned though we would struggle to fill it, especially as ticket prices would probably soar just to fund it. Would look imense though, Someone posted some images of how it would look a while ago.
  16. I think the presentation should consist of Luque, Carr, Bernard and Pattison celebrating like they have won the world cup. Lets spend our summer budget on streamers and fireworks too!
  17. For me: Given Solano Gooch Bramble Baba Parker Emre Dyer Milner Martins Owen Harper Taylor Ameobi two from Duff/Zoggy/the butt-meister depending on form and where we are playing Home/away etc.
  18. Great news. Big hopes he will be back this season. If he is he will be ready, we are pretty carefull as far as rushing players back is concerned. Anybodies guess how long it will take though. Running is surely a great sign though.
  19. Thought Tuncay was available too.. Would certainly have him in there ahead of Kanu or Viduka. Would be suprised if we dont chase Jarvis and Viduka again. Ben Haim, Distin, Nesta (yeah right!) Sidwell and Duscher would all be fantastic additions.
  20. Yeah read this earlier, decent reading although basically its correct in saying we havent produced the good things have been happening over the past few years. The likes of Taylor, Chopra, Ameobi, now Edgar and Huntingdon cant be ignored, although they are hardly the flair and level of their predecesors. At least a few lads are breaking through.

    Gooch

Can see a nasty Distin repeat at the end of the season. Albeit he will be going to a much better club, and wont be going just for the money. Roeder hypes it up like this is his big chance to make it and "win" a toon contract. If he continues the way he is going I think it could be more of a chance we would do well to hold unto him. He is a very ambitious player and has refused to talk past the end of the season so far, infact he hasnt even said anything other than he wants to do his best until the end of the season.
  22. I think thats exactly what will work for the partnership. Owen and Martins have obvious similarities, but Oba doesnt make the instinctive runs that Owen does and prefers coming from deep. Martins also has the strength and power to add another dimension. The only thing really missing would be the lack of height.
  23. Cant see a top 6 finish, other teams are picking up too many points and we are stupidly inconsistent. 9th for me.
  24. Bramble and Gooch looked good in the second half, but bramble let bellamy slip past him way too often in the first. Sure there is potential in the Bramble and Gooch partnership but its always going to be let down by the mistakes of at least the former. Unfortunately Taylor is almost as Rash at times as the bumble.
