  1. well what about roy keane....the sunderlands fans can live with it We need something long term to develop. Phil will not stay here long term So is SA the man to do it LONG TERM?? Exactly, like I said before, this is a man who said he would be retiring from football this time next year when his Bolton Contract run out. So he has a great season for us next year and we do well, Steve McClaren gets sacked as England manager. Do you think his Whoreish behaviour wont return to get the England managers job, and would the FA have any better prospective English managers. Would he be able to turn down a bigger job? The flip side is, he doesnt do well and half of the fans will be on his back after six months calling for his head and we are back to square one again.
  2. Didnt Big Sam say he was going to retire after his 10 year contract ended at Bolton, leaving nearly into the 9th year? Would you trust him to turn down the england job if he does well with us and McClaren gets sacked? Why would someone like Big Phil want to come here at the expense of tarnishing his reputation just for some more money? Theres plenty of ways he could do that, take over Russia for example or the USA team, If he wanted to come to the premiership he would be hungry for it. I hope the same is for Big Sam to make the step up and try and win things with us.
  3. Big Phil must be getting pissed off on the phone. "No it really is me, and I am really interested, why doesnt anyone believe me?" Big Phil is the topline, top draw version of Big Sam, they would both shake our whole club up and both embrace new technology and fitness and training methods. Scholari is just an infinately better manager all round. Never going to happen though.
  4. He was always said to favour playing in the middle and was tipped to end up playing there so it wouldnt be a suprise. His versatility is an asset, but he might find himself employed in that role this coming Sunday now Parker and Emre are out.

oh its just a matter of time, but to be in the same leagues as the good majority of European leagues the MLS would have to jump light years with the other leagues falling significantly back, the latter just isnt going to happen. Football is constantly improving, Newcastle can go out and buy 6 decent players in the summer but it wont be considerably relevant as the majority of other teams will make good purchases that move their team forward. The good thing about the American/Canadian league is that its got so much potential and you cant even see the ceiling, and its the fastest growing sport and biggest inner city sport certainly in canada and alot of the states.
  6. Ben Haim, Distin, Sidwell, Viduka, Appiah, Tuncay, Then spend money on Baines/Matt taylor and micah richards wouldnt say no to Nugent, Bent, Barnes, Bale, Campbell, Hunt (reading)
  7. If Stevie G did his cruciates or broke a leg then Liverpool would be f***** Honestly that club never has serious injuries ... then again no club can rival us on the injury front Cisse got off pretty lightly then did he? Few clubs have had the injury nightmares we have had, but then few clubs have been run as shoddy as ours.
  8. Coming to a st. james park near you...
  9. Taylor and Certainly Milner have the right to feel agrieved about this, but theyre time will come.
  10. Tough Choice between him and Sven really. Think he would certainly shore us up and give us some stability and momentum, but I also think he could turn out to be another dalglish. Who ever takes over needs charisma imo. Sven and Houllier just dont have the open passion that the crowd will take too, albeit they are both much better qualified than Allardyce.. ...but then werent Souness, Gullit, Dalglish and Robson? The crowd has to be behind the new guy in charge, it would be much easier to turn on Sven or Houllier when they dont looked asrsed in the dug out when things are going wrong.
  11. Cant see Owen going anywhere in the summer. He would be hated not just by Newcastle fans just for his lack of loyality after all the faith and money we have put into him. but more importantly because wor Al would give him a real kicking.
  12. So quite outrageous paper talk so far.. Allardyce is coming in Speed, Mike Forde, Ricky Sbragia, Ricky Sbragia have all been touted and Im sure Hull and Carlisle will be thrilled the papers are talking up Phil Brown and Neil McDonald! Then Campbell, Nolan, Anelka, Davies, Jaskilinen, Ben Haim are all apparently targets! so more than likely we will end up with bruce and terry mac staying on...
  13. add appiah and campbell to that list.
  14. Carr, Bramble, Ramage, Babayaro to name a few.
  15. Coach the following players to their best or ship them out: Duff, Luque, N'Zogbia, Parker, Emre, Dyer, Bramble, Carr, Babayaro, Ameobi. Bring in two Centre halves of considerable quality a RB and two decent LB's Turn Andy Carroll into Kevin Davies. Shave McDermotts tache off. Make Lee Clark Grow one. Bring Ben Haim and Nicky Hunt.
  16. whom ever said not fit to lace Roberts boots was about right, and i didnt even rate Robert that highly. N'Zog will stay and we should keep him, his potential is certainly greater than Roberts but he is a long way off matching Robert on Ginola. Duff has had a very bad season but he will turn out good, I will say that with even more confidence should allardyce take over. Buying him wasnt a mistake for that price buying a player of his skill and versatility is never worth missing. Milner on the left is reasonable but duff is in a different league, our wings are sorted now and shouldnt need tinkering with in the summer, just needs motivating. Duff - Milner - N'Zog - Can all cover LW Solano - Dyer - Milner - Duff - Can all cover RW On form as good a pool of wingers as needed. The Zog has had a bad year like alot of our squad but now is the second chance to push it behind them and take the reprieve for the coming season under new management.
  17. ---------------------Given---------------------- Hunt--------Taylor-----Ben Haim--------Baines ----------------------Appiah---------------- ------------Parker-------------Emre------------ Owen--------------Viduka------------Martins Wouldnt say no...
  18. Tuncay, viduka, appiah, sidwell, ben haim, distin = wages no fee spend the budget on some decent fullbacks.
  19. Right time no doubt. Our prospective manager will also have a competitive match to watch this sunday to have a look at his players and who he might want to keep and cull. Im not sold on Allardyce but he is easily the best English Manager at the moment. SGE would be an impressive appointment but like big sam hardly and inspiring one, does he have the passion for the club and next seasons derbies? Its definatley a shame all the scouting for the summer was wasted, but there is nothing to say the list of names compiled and people spoken to wont be handed over to our new manager. Whoever comes in will also have a new list of names so in effect we double our scouting. Wonder if this means the tour of the states is back on?
  20. tbf none of the players would understand his team talk. Guess he could motivate them and scare them into action by smiling at them though.
  21. Sidwell will add more depth to the central midfield, he has had a stonking season for reading a move here will put him up a notch on the england call up list. Big sam will like him too, very similar player to Kevin Nolan, better coming forward than Parker, certainly wont turn my nose up at getting him for nothing, great prospect.
  22. So its ok when he is playing in position and getting ripped to shreds, like normal.
