Its a valid point mrmojorisin75 brings up, which is obviously a doubt that would arise. There are certainly several dark points in appointing Big Sam. His European record - hardly any experience managing or playing in europe and a reasonably dissapointing campaign with Bolton. The bung enquiries - do we need any more scandal and dark clouds over the club? Big club syndrome - Can he handle a big club with big pressures and intrusions into his personal life? He however remains a succesfull manager and an innovative coach, he would certainly shake up the club, instill passion in the players and get us a decent bargain or two in the market! not to mention shoring up the defence is a distinct possibility too! Personally I dont think he is the right man and I think we could find alot better abroad. We have been too down trodden by mediocrity and failure we would take anything better than what we had. Given our recent patience track record I dont believe it will take too long before people are on Allardyces back.

Good pool of teams that arguably should all be up in the top division. Like to see wolves up there, so curtis davies and Giles barnes are available. That said allardyce wont want to buy either so it doesnt matter. WBA will certainly be on a high after scoring seven against barnsley.

Had the vision, had the love of this club and the area, just didnt have the tactical genius or management skills to succeed. Love him to stay on in some capacity, just not as manager. Will remember him for saving us from relegation and trying to rebuild the club after the Souness massacre, giving us Martins, an unexpected season of European football (which might well have cost him his job) and his third person interviews. All the best, will always be welcome at SJP, just not as the manager

Michael Owen - Gone through more managers than he plays games!

Is Luque's move to PSV confirmed, or maybe Allardyce might fancy looking at him first?
-
a banned t***!!

Cant find any confirmation still? Sky Sports still running it?

Well played Glen, hope you can come back in some role in our structure.

Where is the NO roving reporter on his laptop with wireless connections? knew it was bad to let him have sundays off.

Setanta now backtracking, gone from sacked to could be parting ways..
-
Sounds like he is far from sacked yet.. but theres still time tonight.

Sven has it all, there are few better club managers free and about, his intimate knowledge of the World and especially premiership wont do us any harm. Most people hate us as it is so having sven will only fit in with the current trend. Dont think he has the passion to instill into our players though, cant see us being as up for the derby next year as we would be if Allardyce was in charge. Lets just hope Roeder isnt just being moved upstairs for Shearer to come in.
-
Think Fred should come out and make the announcement deny he is sacked, walk back inside, then immediatley come back out saying "Just Kidding, Hes gone" before launching into 'Lets all have a disco' and dancing around.

Not sacked.

Watch this space its going to happen!
-
on Setanta website now..
-
Wullie has been serving an all you can eat carvery at the boardroom to entice him.
-
Do all these sites and sources apologise to Roeder when its turns out its untrue?
-
Eurosport that prime source of information. nothing confirmed anywhere.... YET!
-
Roeder staying on?
-
the last two appointments were the most important decision FS has ever made. Why should he be given the chance to f##K it up again. Not Roeders fault he wasnt good enough anyone of us would have taken that job proudly.

we shall see

I cant understand people sometimes. Martins is 22, he hasnt been at the club or in England for a full year, he has all the attributes to be one of the best strikers in the world, he's certainly different to any striker we have ever had at this club yet people are happy now to offload him for a minimal profit. Then later we will question the clubs ambition. The club will never improve if people cant cope with anything other than instant success. So Allardyce takes over and has a bad half season and people will be on his back, all his players drop dead of the plague and he will get the sack for not being good enough. Its no wonder we are laughed at or pitied or hated, we have become the most impatient, desperate, cynical set of fans in the country (not without reason though). It wont matter who gets brought in, players, coaches, tea lady, someone will be on their backs from day one.

Alex Inglethorpe tbh tbh tbh.. The chances of us appointing a foreign coach are as slim as fat freds waist minus the pies. Theres plenty of great foreign coaches out there that would come a do a decent job, the board simply wont look into it.
