No s***! Ive been sat here all day watching sky sports news with laptop on me knee, waiting for confirmation. Id turned into a gibbering wreck so the missus sent me to the chinese, in the hope id chill out a bit. I get back, and still no word. I dont mind admitting im a saddo, i feel im not the only one. Club texts are where its at. My phones been going off all sodding day, but not one from the club. Starting to get sick of it now People will know about them going through first by this thread I imagine, as soon as someone gets a text, they'll post it.

Agreed. Must rate Edgar more highly. Maybe Edgar could still go out on loan perhaps. Good luck to him.

Newcastle United central defender Paul Huntington has joined United for an undisclosed fee. Paul becomes the second signing of transfer deadine day, following goalkeeper Alan Martin, who completed his move from Motherwell on Friday morning. Carlisle-born Paul, who turns 20 on September 17, has featured 11 times for Newcastle United. Paul, who won the Jackie Milburn Trophy in the summer of 2005, an award given to the most promising young players in the north east, made his Toon debut last season and scored his only goal for the club against Tottenham in January. Highly-rated Paul started out with Newcastle's Academy - he joined up with the first team squad for their Intertoto matches in 2005 - and has represented England at under-18 level. Paul will provide much-needed cover and competition for Rui Marques and Matt Heath at the heart of the defence. http://www.leedsunited.com/page/NewsroomDetail/0,,10273~1103747,00.html

Perminant move it seems. Undisclosed fee. Leeds official site.

I love deadline day. Its almost ALWAYS a letdown. Last year we're all waiting for Bridge to go through, and well... Was hardly the best day, was it. Thank fuck Allardyce has done all his deals early this year. Beye and Faye will do me. When they come in, perhaps Huntington or Edgar out on loan to a championship side.

Semi-decent? You're all heart, mate. Would you prefer it if I wished him well at Real Madrid? I was only being realistic
-
Never was the greatest, but at least he tried which is a lot more then some can say. Hope his recovery goes OK, and has a semi-decent career afterwards

Its hard to judge with not seeing a lot of them play yet to be honest. Fuck, its quite a hard one too. Cacapa could be fantastic, as could Enrique and we BADLY needed a LB. Viduka was free, but does price come into it? Then theres Barton... Geremi as captain, ahhh Bloody hell *votes Cacapa*

Really fucking annoyed me that. Most people have seen the Man City game already anyway. Wankers. Sent a rude comment thingy to ITV. Will be interesting to see if there was any actual logic behind it.

Sam just said on SSN that he had his medical today, and that he'll be a great addition to the squad. Said it should go through tommorow once they get his medical results back.
-
Just showed Ashley wearing his Smith 17 shirt applauding at FT on SSN
-
Good stuff. No more Glen Johnson talk I assume now.
-
Saying Faye and Beye have both had medicals. Promising. Faye and Beye...hmm!
-
Good news - where was that reported?
-
Thats why it dragged on though. I'm sure it was £6m up front, then a further £1m on appearences. Still, I know I shouldn't laugh, but...
-
Gotta say fair play to Steve Gibson too, for letting him wear the shirt in the directors box

from .cock NEWCASTLE United owner Mike Ashley was in the stands cheering on the Magpies during Sunday's 2-2 draw with North East rivals Middlesbrough. The billionaire businessman, watching the Geordies for the first time, was even sporting his black and white colours complete with the name and number of one of his Toon signings - "Smith - 17". And United gaffer Sam Allardyce said afterwards that Mr Ashley certainly appeared to enjoy himself - especially given his celebration when Charles N'Zogbia opened the scoring in the first-half. "He appeared to have a good time, especially when the first goal went in, anyway," said Big Sam. "It was nice to see him here for the first time - and he hasn't tried to hide away because he was standing there with his Newcastle shirt on. "It's great to see him. There is obviously lots of speculation around what he is doing, but as far as I am concerned, with he and Chris, we are moving the club forward as quickly as we possibly can." http://www.nufc.premiumtv.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10278~1100027,00.html Chose Smith for the back of his shirt
-
Went mental, hugging Mort and jumping up and down when Zoggy scored too
-
Emre won't start, and I can't see Martins or Smith being dropped yet.
-
Its genuine, came from official website I think. Nice touch. I wonder why we didn't get one from Boumsong.

NEWCASTLE’S £9.5million flop striker Albert Luque is joining Ajax on a free. The Spaniard, 29, scored one Premier League goal in two seasons. Luque moaned: "I started the season in a positive frame of mind but the coaches have quickened my exit." http://www.thesun.co.uk/article/0,,2002390000-2007250874,00.html See ya later, I guess.

Where has it been suggested this is the case? In NE5's post, the part you've highlighted. also in Allardyces comments, again, quoted by Baggio. Smith for Dyer. [not forgetting Barton for Parker]. Unless someone knows more than Sam does I've highlighted a different part, which is the policy we have adopted for the last 15 years. Who did we sell to sign Enrique and Rozenhal then? Exactly. Allardyces quote was about the number of players in the squad, not the financial side. Anything to have a sneaky little dig though, eh?

Old thread about a potential Icelandic takeover bid years ago

Couldnt agree more if I was a complete fucking spastic -
Looking promising. Then again, we all thought Drago & Beye were on their way too, so I'm not getting overly optimistic just yet!

Old thread about a potential Icelandic takeover bid years ago
Nicky replied to Power NUFC's topic in Football
Alan Shearer is being strongly linked with a possible Icelandic led takeover of Newcastle United. English businessman Mike Ashley only completed his takeover at St James' Park in June - but already the club is being linked with a new boardroom battle. An Asian-based bid was rumoured to be interested earlier this month - but now an Icelandic consortium is reportedly readying a bid for the Magpies. Jon Asgeir Johannesson, chief of Baugur - who in recent years have bought iconic British companies such as House of Fraser, Hamleys and Goldsmiths, is reported to be behind the bid. Johannesson along with Palmi Haraldsson, who runs another Icelandic investment group Thera, are reported to have approached Shearer with a view to becoming involved with the bid. Icelandic sources are claiming that a potential deal is very much in the offing, but it remains to be seen whether Ashley would be tempted into selling just months after purchasing the club. http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11678_2673196,00.html Got there in the end!
