  1. " Fans of Newcastle-online believe our story is a big pile of bollocks"? We have a fan club now?

  3. aye true id agree there shearers had his time but not as a chairman or manager yet if ashley has paid off 30 million pounds for the debts i am sure when you buy a company all debts have to be paid before its taken off the stock market i might be mistaken like, if these people wanna buy the club let them ashley is looking for a good profit so go for it i say Sorry, are you mental? More unrest is the last thing we need. Nah. Lets go for it. New chairman. Might as well get a new manager in too & while we're at it, change the backroom staff. And we've still got 2 whole weeks to overhaul the squad. ÉG ást the íslenska!!
  4. Cheers, couldn't find those quotes. It might be true that they'll launch a bid, but it doesn't mean we're selling.
  5. A couple of times recently, Chris Mort has made a point of saying Ashley is in it for the long term, and pointed to his other companys as proof of this. I would be gobsmacked if anything was to come of this at all.
  6. Presumed it was because of the post before yours. Thought you meant to say "defensive".
  7. Some of the reactions on here are unbelievable... Already in the 1 week we've had this season, the champions (Man Utd for those who're a bit slow) have drawn 0-0 at home to Reading. Spurs, who a lot of people are tipping to finish top 4 this season have lost 3-1 at home to Everton... I really don't see a 0-0 at home to Villa being the end of the world. Its football, it happens. If it was happening every week, fair enough. But its only 1 home game gone. We haven't conceeded - great, now lets build on it, because we WILL score a lot of goals this season. Allardyce has said its going to take us a lot, lot longer then this to get to where he wants us at. We've kept a clean sheet, which for us, is massive. We have the strikers, we have the midfielders, and dare I say it, we have someone who will get them all working together. Its gonna take time, but for fuck sake. Reactions like "mid table mediocrity" are ridiculous. Smith, Geremi and Butt can't play together in midfield, no? What the fuck was I watching at Bolton last week, then? Jesus christ.
  8. Nope, nowhere. And to think, this is a much stronger team then the team who played the friendly at Hull!
  9. Cheers Couldn't agree with Allardyce more. There is no single reason, where booing any individual will help. 4-0 down at half time, and a general boo I can understand - even Bolton done it yesterday, in fact, a lot of teams would. "One of the things I’ve picked up on is that a lot of the players are finding it increasingly difficult to play at home. ..... It doesn’t only affect that one player, it gets to the others too. They all think, ‘When’s it going to be my turn?’ It doesn’t matter whether you like a player’s personality or not, he will try his best. “Sometimes, because of the pressure, it may not look like it. It can get to the stage where they can’t see beyond the end of their noses. Abuse can make you fearful of accepting a pass, let alone making one, and unable to express yourself." Those in particular really struck a nerve with me. Most supporters knew it anyway, but its nice for a manager to actually come out and say it exactly how it is. Thats our home, thats where our support is meant to give us an advantage over opponents. Thats where we should be trying to create an atmosphere to intimidate our opposition. The fact that some of our own players are finding it fucking difficult to play at home is just unbelievable. Viana, Parker, Butt, Babayaro and Parker have all experienced it in recent times. I've got a feeling Carr has before too, but i'm not 100% on that one. Coming to play at St James is a reason a lot of new signings give as wanting to play for us. Wouldn't it be just unthinkable if playing at St James was given as a reason to not join us? Saying that, I really think, and hope that it won't happen again now. Renewed optimism and all that shit. Unfortunately, and even though I think he's a wanker, I can still see it happening to Dyer if he was to play against Villa. Really hope i'm wrong there, and I hope some more press pick up on those quotes
  10. He's not. He's saying how bad the quality of players has dropped Not entirely sure why he added Sholas name there though, can't see him being best impressed. About the booing thing, I think thats a massive thing for Sam to say, and a lot of fans need to take note. Maybe you should make an exception and give it a thread there. I'd like to see if anyone disagrees with what he's said, without having to sift through all the stuff in here.
  11. Whats the view like down there mate?
  12. The ghost of Chris Benoit is sitting behind Joey. Btw, "I'm fancying us to get a result. Nobody will know how to hurt Bolton more then Sam. He knows every single one of their players weaknesses, and he'll use anything he knows to hurt them. We really should win it, all things considered. Previous results at Bolton go out of the window tommorow, given Allardyces big advantage. 3-1."

  14. Smith, vs Bolton. 42nd minute seeing as we're getting precise
  15. Especially given our current relationship with West Ham! What a fucking joke.
  16. Why on earth would we let him go there on a free! Worst story so far this summer.
  17. NEWCASTLE have been the subject of a takeover bid one month after Mike Ashley’s £131million buy-out. SunSport can reveal a group of Chinese investors negotiated to take over the Toon and hand billionaire Ashley a £20m profit. An American-based investor also declared an interest in rivalling the Chinese bid. A Toon insider confirmed: “Ashley got this club relatively cheaply and is now being offered the chance to make a big profit.” Ashley decided not to sell. http://www.thesun.co.uk/article/0,,2002390000-2007360719,00.html
  18. Well, thats good anyway. Wouldn't really blame him if he had done, given the debts they uncovered! Will look forward to seeing the full story.
  19. *edit* Beaten to it. http://www.teamtalk.com/football/story/0,16368,1780_2649743,00.html Interesting that they sat down for an hour or 2 and they went through players they were wishing to add. It almost feels like our summer spending is over now, but I guess thats not the case. Whoever comes in now would add a nice bit of depth to our defense (presumably)
  20. Brilliant work. What does that writing translate to that he signed?
  21. How long did it take ? About 2 or 3 weeks. This was about 10 years ago though, remember!
  22. I used to be a bit of an autograph nut, too. Got a programme from the match (cant remember what) when Kenny Dalgish had his first game in charge for us. Sent that off to him, and he signed the front cover for me. Top man. Shit manager, mind.
