Lovenkrands goals after his father passed away and his goal versus Boro that season we went down are the major highlights for me when he was here. I'll always respect him, and remember him fondly for those 2 matches. Still get emotional thinking of that day for him, incredible performance. Best's hat trick v West Ham was outrageous by the way, looked like Diego fucking Costa how ruthless he was. I'd say our best player is Wijnaldum but the likes of Sissoko, Ayoze, Mitrovic, and Janmaat round our top 5 IMO.

Our spine is lacking from GK (currently) to partner for Mbemba, to our non-existent CM. Need experienced on-loan GK, partner for Mbemba, a CM who can allow Gini to move central. and then we finally flow well to Mitro + Perez. CB, CM, LB, backup RB are immediate needs.

Maybe it's time to have a fucking sideline review of straight red cards or something to make sure these aren't massively destroying matches. Refs need to be held accountable for gaffs like this.

Matip or Brooks would be great at CB. Big fuckers who are strong as well as promising players. Always rated N'Koulou too but he's not a big guy at all same size as Mbemba. Would like to sign a Matip or Brooks and then go after a good PL quality backup with experience

Seen him for USMNTUVWXYZ last year. Massive imposing presence and good on the ball, but seemed to lack experience. He's struggled of late for the U.S. and been injured for much of the season, but he's a talented player. Scored the game winner against Ghana in Brazil, very dangerous when attacking set pieces but needs to work on that part of his game defensively. Good on the ball, likes to bring it forward. Healthy, on-form and partnered correctly he'd be brilliant IMO.

I don't disagree with many on here in regards to our playing style / positives and for one thing I respect McClaren the coach and man and I clearly see he's trying to bring in change, encourage the team to play, instill a level of professionalism etc. He's clearly giving his all to be successful here but I can't help but think he's still not the right man for this job and he's been let down by the lack of discipline in his players, gutless performances, weak spine and bottom line - on the wrong end of the PL table. Results have not been where we need them to be and for that - I'm still in the boat that he and many others on the board need to be sacked.

Brooks is a Player who could and should go on to be our main man in the back-line for the team - ^ post above is correct. Massive guy whos good on the ball and great on set pieces.

Grabbing someone trying to get past you in the box and stopping them dead in their tracks is just as questionable and NOTHING was given (Catts on Gini)

I don't, the team's improving every week.The football is getting better and confidence appears to be coming back. The results just aren't there yet. obviously if we don't pick up a couple of wins soon then he'll be under major pressure. There's still loads of work to do But I think he'll turn it around. Our defending is arguably getting much worse, conceded 2 or more in our last 6 league games. like I said there's still loads to work on but the football is better and is clearly improving. I don't think it'll ever turn around enough to our liking under McClaren to be honest. I agree we shouldn't ever have hired him. I have no problems with the man himself - I think he's a good honest man who is working his ass off and our shit recruitment policies have forced him for better or worse to keep certain players or whatever. But I still think there are better managers and I'd be happy to see the back of Charnley, the board, McClaren etc. I hope he proves me wrong and we go on a brilliant run of form and end season comfortably or pushing for 8-10. But I just don't see it happening unless we spend another 50M on this team in the form of GK, CB, CM, LB etc.

Nah I like Mitrovic it was just a really bad finish by him. Straight at the keeper with the whole of the other side to aim for I don't see it that way - Easier said than done when you've got a giant GK who is good at making diving saves - he went close and short to go against the natural inclination of what a keeper would do and shift wait to dive far post. Regardless, he should have still scored in that position. Near, short, through legs, whatever.

IMO he should know better than to make that type of off the ball shoulder barge in the box in a derby. Fletcher went down easy a fuck load by the way (besides the point). Getting yourself sent off like that is daft when you are last man back - b/c like was said before, if we were 1-0 down to them we still would have probably marched back and took the match as they were absolute turbo.

11 v 11 we would have won 1-0 or 2-0 IMO. Wish Mitro buried is goal but the 14 foot man between the posts made a hell of a save to his near side.
