If a player is prone to foul (Tiote) and is judged for fouls that are incorrect more often than other players based on reputation, he is asked and forced to change his game to cut that part out or he'll continue to be booked or judged as fouling a player when it was a clean tackle. If a player is prone to offisde (Cisse) and is judged for offside calls that are also incorrect more often than other players based on reputation, should he not be looking to change or time his runs better to avoid this? How is that not something we should be clamoring on about? If the refs call something a certain way based on reputation, you need to change or you're going to head down the same path over and over man.

Apart from this one, where he was neither offside and his finishing was actually quite good How the f*** can this incident be used as a stick to beat Cisse with? 0 Premier League Goals in 18 matches seems to be enough a reason to be angered by him. By all means be angered by him but by this particular incident? He was onside. He made the move at exactly the correct time. The linesman was the one who got it wrong. On a related note the phrase "Cisse doesn't understand the offside rule" and variations thereof will drive to me a Falling Down style breakdown. Papiss Cisse is a professional footballer, I'm sure he is very much aware of the offside rule. The problem is, quite clearly, he's just suited to our style of football and he's devoid of any confidence. Yes, he was onside (imo) and the lino got it wrong (imo). I'm sure he understands the offside rule, but he's not very good at showing his understanding, ever, really, to be honest.

The same player who hasn't done s*** in the PL in quite some time? I want nothing more than him to score goals for fun, but he's not doing much out there...and the chances he gets he's offside or fluffs it ffs. So yeah, I think its fully justified to slate it him; he looks lost out there. Every match I hope he just kicks on and scores man, just like I posted earlier - i miss the happy smiling Cisse who looked like he was a clinical goal scoring machine.
  5. 7 points, and I'll be content. 10, happy. 11+ would be tremendous.

Yup. Well to a point, but he was actually onside so you could argue he made the move at exactly the right time. If he timed it right, there wouldn't be a call man. That's the point. Timing it right is 100% without a doubt he's on. Which he wasn't given this leaning, foot, head, etc discussion we are having.
  7. Yup, why I mentioned it! Agreed, I actually forget about the spikes when I look at the kit...still one of my favorites I own just given the fit of it is perfect.
  8. Puma, please use exact same collar and slap on some simple black & white stripes for Newcastle next season pls.

I'm 100% with you 'Polic. And personally, I wish he'd get back to his smiley scoring best for the better of the team, himself, and of course us. I just hate to see him completely fall apart after starting to epically for us.
  10. We look better with the back 4 of Debuchy - Willo - MYM - Santon. Its that simple. That back 4 beat Chelsea and Spurs. That back 4 is our first choice atm.
  11. It was awesome. Telling you, Big Mike gets a random "ahhh, fuck it" moment in every match. He'll randomly cut up field from near the half way line and play what he considers dangerous ball to someone checking or like today, which was a treat, he gets the ball near the box and just gives 0 fucks about it and attacks.
  12. All true, and sad really. Wish he would have just went back to Argentina a while ago as I absolutely loved the player.
  13. France national team could use a bit of a hard working all-around player that can be a goal threat. The Euros they took a shocking number of midfielders and did fuck all. I'm talking with wayyyy too much bias mind.
  14. Mapou made some runs forward but they didn't find him. He played a lovely cross though from deep, which he's shown he's capable of. Missed Debuchy overall today, one of our top players atm - given the form he's in and like you said, that drive he has is really class.
  15. Big Mike Willo on the left wing and THAT Shola shot in the 2nd half. Runner up has to be Tiote at half-way line and the crowd yelling Shoot.

    Alan Pardew

Same. What's happened to him at West Brom? Only four starts. Has he been injured? The daft fucker should have never went to Manchester City. Talk about what's fucking up the English game, its the super massive clubs buying English players and letting them rot away on the bench while they go and sign players from abroad for mega millions. Referring to the likes of Sinclair, Rodwell, Zaha, etc...
  17. He's basically a CF who's changed his entire game to play a utility striker/attacker/winger for us. I respect that massively, and he does so with the best of attitudes and 100% effort on the pitch. You can't help but really support the guy. I wish more footballers played as self-less as he has for us for their respective clubs.

He's got to start thinking more when he's in those positions, he has to realize he needs to be onside and it need not be a close decision. When your reputation is of a constant fouler (Tiote) or constantly offside (Cisse) the 50/50 benefit of the doubt calls are going to get called, it may not be right, but its the way refs and linos are. If that had been Remy or Gouffran, I bet the man doesn't call it.

    Alan Pardew

Would like to see some young exciting English players signed like Tom Ince (Was really hoping for Scott Sinclair over the summer).
  20. What is nice about this man playing out wide is that he does all the leg-work defensively, has good technique to be involved in the midfield and build-up play, and gets into the box when up-front. That ball Shola played out wide to Remy, Gouff went diagonally from the halfway line into the box; used his striker's instinct there.

gave the lino an decision to make when he didn't need too. Cracking finish mind. Agreed, it was probably even so probably onside. But as-is Cisse's reputation for always being offside, the lino flagged and everyone just assumed he was right.
  22. The mental thing is that Willo is the only definite pick of the 3! f*** me, you're right I've been saying this for a few weeks now as well. Willo, for all his limitations is the only one who we can count on to keep the back 4 organized. Personally, its Debuchy-Willo-MYM-Santon next match.

    Hatem Ben Arfa

Looked quick today, hopefully he'll slowly integrate himself back into the starting 11.
