and honestly, if he secures a permanent move to Ajax that's good for him - he's been a loyal servant to this club and has always been good to the supporters. I hope he gets himself back on track.

We have definitely looked a better side without him in defense. He was very good in attack to begin with when he started for us, but has massively trailed off since then and been very inconsistent. He's one paced though, and was often made to look a fool by rather poor midfielders as a result. I think he genuinely cared but really lashed out in weird ways and had some embarrassing moments (Southampton away last season, intentional red). Best of luck to him though.
