A classic example of a very talented player being utterly ruined by the relentless spackers we've had in charge since he joined. Absolutely no coincidence whatsoever that, under Rafa, he looks like the player we originally signed. Very talented 13 years at Ajax...doesn't happen if you're not very talented fella. Compared to me he is very talented aye. Ajax aren't good anymore either. He can't, or won't pass the ball more than 10 yards which is my major problem with him. He is barely better than Colback in midfield based on his time here. A few good games at right back and a decent pre season seems to have changed everyone's opinions on him though so fair enough That's an odd thing to measure a player by like. The Colback bit is daft though, as is the bit about opinions changing. He's had the same detractors and defenders on here for ages, to the extent that the same conversation about him has been done to death and bored everyone to death with it. If he's so much better than Colback in midfield why did Rafa pick Colback ahead of him at the end of last season? I don't mind people thinking he's decent, but people saying he's our best player, or very talented I do have an issue with. Anita was too busy filling in for our oft missing fullbacks triggsy.

Really opens up Hayden as our main man in the holding position.

Tiote hasn't covered ground physically in years until the run-in under Rafa by the way, where i'll say 100% he was EVERYWHERE and in the right place all the time. I love Vurn as our utility player by the way and with his attitude and work ethic, I'm happy for him.

Bummer, if he goes, because I still wanted (hoped) he'd come good and was a big fan of his in France. However, that's a hell of a fee all-things considered given his past 12 months+. I hope we sign some exciting attackers now though.

I'm just really happy to see he's working his tail off and Rafa is trusting him to play in both fullback and midfield positions. I think it says a ton to what our manager thinks of him when he's played him in all of these positions and performed quite well, beginning last season and into preseason.

He always looked very good when he played at an uptempo pace and just ran at his man and attacked the box and delivered a cross/pass or shot. Under old Stevie he looked scared out of his mind and played supremely timid which made him look useless.

Have you seen any evidence of this with your own eyes? I'm not sure what it says but he had Hutton on roast against Villa. I'm sure there's plenty of fb's of that standard in the Champo. Could potentially do very welll based on that little 30 minute cameo. I guess if you count some Marseille matches on BeIN sports last few years, then yes Dropo.

It's actually frowned upon here to blackout home games because match-day costs are expensive and with the way the economy was moving last 5+ years - some people simply can't afford getting to the games.

I'd pay up to a decent amount of money to get access to non-televised games and would happily pay it up front like Ashley and co. love for transfer fees.

I think Mbemba's best attributes that really stand out is his ability to provide cover with his pace, his tremendous slide tackling ability, and his passing / dribbling into space to help build attacks. He's decent in the air and holds his own most of the time when he doesn't have to cover the massive strikers (and now that Hanley and Lascelles are around we're fine there). Rafa will develop him into a class player IMO.
