He's looked a threat every single time I've put myself through watching a totally s*** QPR match. Not that I agree with that either, I think Cisse isn't that bad at playing others in. The most important factor for any striker has to be goals, you want one who's a good all round footballer ideally. Yeah the thing with Cisse is that he was a completely different player when he arrived to what we saw on the final day of the season (apart from the injuries and such). When he signed he was very involved all over and playing quickly simple lay offs and moving up the pitch. He looks a man with 1/2 a functioning leg and often injured or unfit. Think Austin's personal drive and story is what I like most about him besides the excellent season, of course.

From what I've seen of him he seems far more well rounded than people are giving him credit for. He's strong, has a decent dribble, can play with back to goal and is a good PL goal scorer. Also has that bit of drive and desire from someone who's worked himself up through the league system to get to where he is.

I personally think McClaren does get it. Whether that means we'll see good football or top 7-8 finishes and a team going out to try and win every match remains to be seen. Or rather, whether that means he's capable of the results and style of football we crave... I'll still firmly believe that this is a club that was managed by Keegan, Sir Bobby, and Dalglish (i know he was an epic fail but his pedigree at the time was brilliant). The Newcastle United we knew with the right owner is capable of attracting Klopp, Bielsa, De Boer, etc - that's my issue with this hire and will be with this club under MA. We should be duking it out with clubs who make as much money as we do but we choose to be a cheap low class club. Having said that, hope to f*** McClaren does well and we all get to enjoy football again.

This is my feeling too basically, I'm going to try to enjoy it a little bit. Big tests coming up in the transfer window and when the cups start. At least he's a football man and he's not some fake smug cunt like Pardew. I'll disagree with much of what he does but he seems like a good guy who actually cares about his craft and his game. He will actually know what it's like up here when it's rocking and he will no doubt want to use that to his advantage. I will admit that I've not seen much of his sides since Boro and England so I'm lost as to how he plays football, the kind of players he relies on etc.

We will see an improvement from the players no doubt. When you go from the former staff to this guy it's going to be far different. Think he NOW has something to prove as this truly is his biggest job. He's not a royal cunt like Pardew and he's also got it in his to walk if he believes he can't do it anymore. I'm fully backing him once he's announced and will be hoping (praying) for sweeping changes in coaching, fitness, psychology, tactics and individual performances based on what I know of what he's capable of doing. Hopefully we sign some decent players and we flog the crap ones; hoping also we bring in the few frozen out ones and they get clean slates too. I want to get back to enjoying football or having some bit of hope - even if Ashley and co still own this club, I want to at least get some excitement or some joy out of this again.
