The culture of the country should also be taken into account. Awarding the tournament to blatantly racist, sexist and homophobic countries is near enough an endorsement of their ways. FIFA should release a statement saying the competition will only be awarded to countries that meet fit and proper criteria with regards to culture. That way they might actually encourage the likes of Qatar and Russia to implement positive change. Agree with that too - and to be honest, those countries will never change.

As a sporting club your aim is to win, which is what bothers me about the sport today. It's about TV money and sponsorships and such. Granted if you're actively using those outlets to better your squad, your staff, facilities etc to scout better or develop better or what have you then fair enough. But the idea of sporting clubs is to win something or figure out a way to one day win in near or long term and constantly trying to bridge gaps or gulfs in finance through tactics or style of play etc. frustrating none the less that just because you're not a perceived media elite club you have no business trying to be one or wanting to win one. Anyway we're all on the same page arguing the same damn thing
