  1. Cisse. Well, I was assuming he's still hurt.

    Pre-Season 2014

Prob Carroll smacking Steven Taylor again
  3. So all things being equal and we don't sign a permanent striker - who is the Starter up top between him and Riv?
  4. I'm hoping he just does what he has to do so we can see him play. I'm sure his professionalism is fine right now and he's doing what he can - but the for sake of his career in football he needs to just do his job and get on the pitch. If there was ever a chance we could see Cabella wide left and HBA wide right, SJP will be rocking with the "go onnn!" shouting when either of those 2 are on the pitch running at defenders. That's all I want to see man. Fret from left and right.

    Loïc Remy

This king business makes me laugh every fucking time.
  6. So no PEA, Lacassette Tape, or Remy. Nicely done club.

    Lee Charnley

For all the shit Llambeezy was - he was actually making a worthwhile attempt to right some past wrongs despite being a bit of a fucking prick. Charnley needs to do more than just sign some players for cheap. If he has any ounce to him and he's supposedly been part of this club for an eternity, he should be looking at bettering the club, and figuring out ways to convince MA to right some old wrongs too. Will he ultimately fail at that? Probably. But if you're the Chairman / MD of a club, then you should be doing more than just signing a shed load of players to fill a bare minimum squad anyway.

It's not his job to run the club. His job is to do what Ashley tells him because he isn't there to do it himself. Everything is set up the way he wants it so it'll not change, no matter who's the MD. Hes the MD man, its his job to run the club. What the hell do you think he's supposed to do? So if nothing will change, which I understand it won't - he'll never get any credit or plaudits from me. I'm not in the business of high-fiving someone who isn't doing the things required to make this club respectable again. I'm hard to please, I guess.
  9. Hatem can kick up a fuss all he wants, I hope he just puts his head down and gets to work and keeps his mouth shut. Its the only way he'll get on the pitch for the sake of his career but also the love (so he says and I believe him) he has for the fans and the support.

I don't commend people for doing what they are supposed to do. It's his job to run the club and get deals done. He's got some deals done, cool. He still has a shit ton of work to do to repair any faith we have in the club. He needs to get a new sponsor who pays the going rate, convince Mike Ashley to actually spend the money this club makes, he needs to negotiate a better kit deal, he needs to keep players here who are good, he needs to not just sell players for shit fees. He has a lot to do. Fucking applauding someone for doing what they are supposed to do is small time mentality. If he personally worked on getting Pardew sacked, brought in a new top manager, fixed the shit PR, convinced Mike Ashley to spend some fucking cash, got us a new kit deal or a sponsor worthy of being associated with Newcastle United then sure, I'll tell him job well done. He's not done the above yet so not getting an ounce of credit from me.
  11. Look forward to seeing him get some pitch time.
  12. So if I wear a Small Nike or Medium Puma I should probably just get a M in the 95-97 kit or a S in the Asics kit?
  13. Cheers - thanks Dan. I'm deciding if I want to spend like a $150ish on geting a classic kit.
  14. I assume Pardew voted "Yes" to offload Ben Arfa in the Chronicle article for the 26% that I just saw on there.
  15. http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-DH-ZDhS-khM/U9lFEJGGsEI/AAAAAAAAY44/j3OTZ0TnDIw/s650/Manchester-City-14-15-Third-Kit.jpg What's with these 3rd kit templates Nike are pumping out? Bit odd.
  16. Does the 95-97 Size S generally fit a man of my height/size? Seems like the S of those days is more like a M today? I think you'd be good with either S or M. It isn't THAT big, length wise at least. You may end up showing some midriff with an S. .....I'll check mine out tonight.... Thanks, text me if you can remember. I'm considering ordering one tonight.
  17. For some stupid reason, I think Ayoze actually may be a decent player for us. He seems to have the creativity/guile to be somewhat effective. I hope he shows similar form against good opposition of course. Seems eerily confident in himself too.

  19. We couldn't compete with such a club like Everton. Fuck off. And Chelsea helped strengthen a rival in the top 7. I can't believe no other club offered that money - he'll be sold for about 40-50M in few years time as the transfer fees continue to inflate.
  20. Blarh, GBP to USD conversion. How awkward do the 95-97 home kits fit? they look like a giant box
  21. Was trying to find one of the actual older kits myself, want to get the adidas stitching on it for all it's glory.
  22. looks like a high women's fashion scoop neck collar, hideous.
  23. Alright, fair play. Point still stands though - I accept that Cabaye's best form came in the first half of last season, but he was still a big reason behind our fifth placed finish in 2012. And also Lille winning the double the year before for the first time in decades (possibly ever). So why wasn't anyone else in for him then? Hazard and Gervinho left for big money; Cabaye was available for only a few million and yet we, as far as I can tell, were the only club to table an offer. As you say, as captain of the French champions, Cabaye should have had little to prove - particularly with regard to the national team - but it was only with us that he became a regular fixture in the French side. I'm sorry like, but I don't think you explain that sort of change solely through a raised profile. I didn't see Cabaye consistently improve at all in his time here. Only in his last 6 months did he look like a player who'd go for £20million. Before that he bounced between being completely anonymous to a match winner. Even if he was a major part of us finishing 5th he wasn't anywhere near that level the year after, which doesn't indicate improvement. I expect we'll see the real Cabaye this season now that he's not working for a window cleaner. Fine, but Wenger was still willing to pay £10 million or so for Cabaye last summer on the back of what was, as you say, a relatively poor season by his standards. How else had Cabaye gone from being a fringe player for France coveted only by likes of us and Villa to a regular international and the subject of a bid from a team in the Champions League in that time if he hadn't improved somewhat as a footballer? I agree that Cabaye wasn't a patch on the previous year in 2012/13, but one bad season doesn't necessarily write off the gains made in a good year. There's also other factors to consider - our pathetic recruitment drive (or lack thereof) in the summer, selling and failing to replace Ba, etc. If Sturridge scores less goals for Liverpool this season, is it fair to say that he's indefinitely regressed as a player because he's not consistently improving? He was always a good footballer. He proved that in France 2 years before he joined us with his best ever goal and assist numbers then won the league and cup the year after in what was something of a miracle. His actual talent has never been in doubt. He was blatantly better in his last 6 months than he had been in the 2 years previous. Nobody can deny that. Was that down to Pardew or gradual improvement over time? Or because he was promised a transfer 6 months previously and started playing for it? Combo of "I need to get the fuck out of here" & "Gradual Improvement" for me. None of that was down to Pardew. The only ounce I'll give Pardew, is that his team was designed/relied on Cabaye getting the ball all the time and doing some magic with it - via Long ball, Diagonal, etc. He never truly knew how to get the best out of him either.
