  1. Wullie - Neesy...we should have beaten Sunderland the last 3 times we played them; blame whoever you want - all to blame there. But regardless, we should have won the 2 this season and you can call it less gutless players or different manager. the same end result is we should have 6 more points and we should be higher than Man Utd. Despite some of the shit we served up this season we should be higher up the table, thats the tragedy with this season. There was clearly an opportunity to kick on when other teams were weak and we didn't.
  2. We should have replaced Cabaye with Sigs imo
  3. + selling Cabaye +not signing anyone permanently for a few windows + giving up on the season in January.
  4. I mentioned the exact same thing yesterday said he looked proper fucking gutted with that miss.

    Papiss Cissé

just more of the same and not the previous week. Can't be missing 1 v 1's to win matches which then turn to a counter and we concede.
  6. They could say the exact same tbf. Absolutely they could. But we've chosen not to take advantage of the opportunity. + Cabaye + 1 Cabella/Grenier or something + Different Manager in this season and we should be fighting it out with Everton IMO

    Papiss Cissé

if 11/12 came back he would have scored the first 2 chances and we'd have walked the rest of the match. 11/12 Cisse didn't mess up chances, usually took his first few well and we'd then defend our lives out the rest of the match.

    Hatem Ben Arfa

Liverpool are a top 6 team. File > Quit
  9. All footballers need coaching man, esp raw ones like Sissoko.
  10. This little fella is a wonderful player who we're now finally seeing his true capabilities. I think his contribution will continue to grow in the team - he was everywhere, always recycling the ball and all that. Love Vurn.
  11. I agree, I'm just not sure he has the positional sense to enable him to get on the end of chances the way Cisse does. Parroting Big Al from MOTD here but a striker missing chances is far less of a worry than a striker not getting near them. Valid points. LDJ was playing behind him, almost as a support striker all match. When LDJ was in the box...it was Cisse crossing him the ball man.
  12. Agree with this. Always find myself thoroughly bemused at the criticism he gets. He's involved in almost everything we do going forward as the only midfielder (that starts) who is even vaguely capable of creating anything. With that amount of responsibility it's hardly surprising that he doesn't do everything right given that he's not even playing in his own position but has been reinvented as a winger in the complete absence of anyone else who can do the job (apart from Hatem Ben Shitbag but we don't talk about him). Agree with this. Feel like people forget about the major contributions he has in nearly all of our wins - be it through his counter attacking, assists, or few goals - he's essential to us with that pace of his. Far from the finished article - good coaching could make him an immense player. Teach him to use his pace and upper body strength to body up on his man and muscle them off the ball and break forward and lay the ball off sooner then later.
  13. Cisse is in the worst form of his career - 1 penalty goal versus Stoke and 1 goal today to make 2 in the league. Failed to put away the other 500 chances put in front of him. I love Cisse too, but we've given him 2 seasons of benefit of the doubt hoping things will just click for the good lad and he'll be off scoring regularly again. All I've said is I would have loved to see De Jong get on the chances in the box that came to Cisse late in the match when we actually had someone to create something (HBA) on the pitch versus 2 DM's and 2 Grafting Wide players.
  14. He's a forward worthy of a rotation up front or out wide in a 4-3-3. If that.
  15. He didn't though. That's kind of the point. He wasn't on the pitch for those big ones in the 2nd half. That was my point.
  16. He wasn't even particularly good today but he's always involved, love that too. Shame the shot that hit the crossbar didn't go in. Might scroll the thread back to the moment he was taking the freekick as I didn't watch the game live. Must have been epic. It's just that involvement from a central midfielder that I love, I appreciate Palace would hardly have been pressing us high up. 155 touches is insane. The stats are eerily similar to an article I read raving about Cabaye for PSG against Leverkusen. Anita's stats anywhere? I thought he was outstanding today as well - he was really driving and trying to make something, anything happen. He and Tiote were my standout players for the 90 minutes.
  17. This guy can be a wonderful player and helluva lot more consistent under better coaching and management. We're always going to get a counter attack opportunity or 2 with him on the pitch.
  18. He's been playing as the second striker (obv not his pref. role), he's not a striker who is going to create his own goals, and he's playing in a team currently that hasn't really scored a goal when Loic Remy isn't on the pitch. I guess people expect him to put away those whipping crosses that come his way? Or those 1 v 1s? Those haven't been created for him. I'd have loved to see him get on the end of a few of Cisse's misses today...maybe he'd have scored?

    Hatem Ben Arfa

Its like Pardew has turned Ben Arfa into Adel Taarabt
  20. Feel like his form has dipped the more we've moved to 4-4-2 and he's playing far far to away from goal. He needs to be in and around the box to be able to use his good striking sills to actually strike the ball around the box.

    Hatem Ben Arfa

He needs to get back to 11/12 or original-ish weight when he signed.

    Papiss Cissé

Unlucky? He hit most of his shots at the keeper. It was a good chance created, good he got in the right position, but not clinical finishing. I'm happy for him that he scored a winner for us in stoppage time and all that on a wonderfully taken goal from an equal quality ball - but he's got to start doing this more often then not, we would have 3 more points if he showed any bottle last weekend. One of the better games I've seen from him. He moved well and put his chances on target when he got them. Both of which are massive improvements from him. Watching Cisse is like watching a cocker spaniel in roller skates. Just complete shambles. What Im getting at is he had a well taken volley right at the keeper, a 1 v 1 swivel shot in 2nd half at the keeper, a complete miss kick from Sissoko from the left side, a header over the bar, and an empty net miss kick from MYM, before he scored his goal. i like the chap as much as most do on here, but he's not unlucky or w/e, he's just got to get his mind right and finish off those chances that we normally have issues creating in the first place!
