  1. I've seen plenty of Rafa Benitez to know he will be hounded out by our fans at the first sign of a below par season once they realise his football isn't much better than Pardew's. I reckon Pardew's "not much better" football would be much more popular if it resulted in winning some games every now and then like. Plenty of people suggesting they knew last season, when we were "winning some ganes every now and then" that our football was dire and Pardew was a fraud. Granted, I don't remember there being many actually voicing that opinion. To be fair just went through my posts and both me and Mick especially strongly disagreed with Pardew. Got ridiculed back then but there were some who were voicing their concern. I said as much, and I do indeed remember you two expressing doubts. You were in a small minority though back then, which was my point. I think Dave said it right recently: as a manager you need either results or attractive play to survive. Alas, we currently have neither. And you're questioning a guy who HAS RESULTS vs the guy who currently doesn't and then used the style of play argument against the manager who's won significant trophies in his career and his clubs have finished near the top of the league! Am I missing something in your argument man? If so, total apologies for losing my mind over this. What you are missing is the post that seems to have tipped you over the edge wasn't defending Pardew, it was questioning what people criticising Pardew's style of play and stating as a reason above all others why they want him gone yet advocating Rafa as a good replacement are seeing that I'm not. Ah okay. Results. That's why. Proven winner.
  2. That's why Ramires is left out of the Confed Cup team
  3. Torres looking like his old self today. Starting to really like David Luiz these days.
  4. For Mike: Benfica will tie this and win it.

    Alan Pardew

I'd even love to see Sissoko, Cabaye, Anita or Sissoko, Cabaye, and Marv. I don't even know if we truly need a holding midfielder as much, and if we do - we need to upgrade that on Tiote.
  7. I can't believe the nicest dude in the world got mad. I noticed that too. I don't think I've every read Kanji get fired up about anybody on here. He's the most affable dude on the planet. Thanks fellas....madness that it took me this long to finally get pissed about something.
  8. Excellent analysis that man - as we'd be sitting in the top 7 with Rafa in charge and people wouldn't give 2 flying f***s either way how "attractive" we were playing.

He's really not though Kanji. I know a person who was skiing and injured her knee up there and he said they had to have surgery because it was a meniscus tear or whatever. She went back to Brazil for a second opinion where it showed it was nowhere near what he was suggesting. This is a very common criticism apparently of him, with second opinions being the complete opposite of what he thinks. Remember that, always important to get a second opinion. Although in this case the problem has already been identified, and in the end most surgeons know what they are doing. Don't see the point in flying Raylor over there. I don't know dude? I just know he worked on many of our players and many famous athletes? So I assumed he was good? Perhaps your friend's injury had more time to heal or the swelling was less and that's what she needed? Also, who cares? I like the idea that the surgeon who saved Shearer will hopefully sort out the free kick assassin now?
  10. Comparing Chelsea and Newcastle vs Benfica? Seriously? Look at Rafa's body of work in his entire career and look at Pardew's career. The answer is plain and simple. If you can't see that and decided you're going to base it on a cup final then you need your damn head checked.

flying business/first - good on him
  12. Not bad - the fit makes it look much more sleeker than it does hanging in some shop. Really want to see our home kit now.
  13. Why so baggy? looks like a jacket or something.
  14. More like some employee was on his way out and through that up there before he got canned or put in his notice to quit. That's what it seems like to me.
  15. - Adapted French signings from January with full preseason under their belt and more time to settle into the area - Squad fit again with a break and clearer head - New signings - Another campaign in the PL, with a clean slate to hopefully do us proud - Possibility of a new manager, and even some additions to the coaching staff if not?
  16. You forgot the part that increased traffic leads to increased sales for 2 days. Ashley wins.
  17. Wow - pretty impressive. Wonder if it was fan vote or writer vote.
  18. We'd make our own numbers again I was disgusted by the fact we did that man
  19. The font would only be worthwhile if we were in Europe again though. Class simple but modern in its own way. Good work for them.

    The Numbers

Wonder how many other strikers have had as many disallowed goals too

Would love to one day never see this fucking thread again.
  22. To most clubs yes. We were somewhat an anomaly, and fortunate we had the players and manager to bring us back up.
