I think Cabella has more than enough chance to prove his value, and I don't think he performed badly. However, it is clear that he isn't Ben arfa who can change the game on his own. He is not a miss or bust consider his price but what we need is a fucking bargain like Cabaye who cost pennies but perform like 20m superstars. I understand why some ppl feel disappointed and I do think Thauvin is a better fit for that game changing role, the one previously played by Ben Arfa.

To judge whether a midfielder protects the back four well is to notice how much space we give the opponents just outside the penalty box, and whether opponents can hold up the ball around there. When Colbacks on the pitch we rarely expose that part whilst Tiote is no where to be seen / Anita give zero pressure to the opponents. This won't show in highlights and one would not notice this if he just focus on the ball rather than the whole set up. There is a reason why Colback is highly rated among the industry despite limited physically and, arguably, technically. He won't offer you spectacular stuff but he is doing the fundamental work well.

Colback protects the back four a lot better than anita. Bad positioning my arse.

The fact that Ayew easily out jumped Colo means we will lose ALL headers inside our box this season. I am serious, I'd rather play Willo with Chancel. Colo is completely finished as a player.

I think Tiote is more limited as a player.

Enrique is an immense one on one defending full back. His only weakness, during his prime, is his positioning during offside trap. Other than that he is one of the best left back in the world. Sadly his physique has gone and now, honestly, he's just shit. Shitter than Haidara probably.

I'd agree if that's not Aarons. Aarons seems very injury prone and I am all for keeping him on the bench till he's fully ready. He has had two major injuries last season and any more may severely damage his career.

You are practically asking Winegum to sit deeper and give more contribution, linking from the back and roam forward and get into scoring position like what he did last match. The problem is he doesn't have the stamina to do that much. Yesterday he was knackered after 70 mins. You sure he can do that much? In Netherlands may be, but in EPL, under such pace, I really doubt that. And in addition, I feel extremely insecure to have Anita the only one protecting our back four. You forgot that stupid penalty Anita gave out last season? I think Winegum should stick to where he played last match. If you want a more attacking set up, it should be Sissoko to play in centre as a box to box, not Winegum. Save his energy for scoring goals.

I don't understand why we have to play Winegum deeper. He is the best attacking midfielder last season in Netherlands and score tons of goals. Why take him away from his best position?

It is fine to say we need an upgrade for that position in order to improve the team but I don't think you need to intentionally downplay his performance yesterday. Seriously I am glad to have Colback here after watching Tiote for the final 30mins. Tiote is fucking garbage nowadays. Anita and Colback over him any seconds.

I honestly think giving up Santon for Haidara is a huge mistake

I would start Colback Sissoko Winegum in centre and Ayoze on the right.

That's encouraging start. Obertan on left isn't really a bad shout, although I certainly prefer Ayoze and Aarons more.

Back in Jan so it's ok, loan him out to Championship club by then I would just let him fill his boots at that level this season. He's bound to go through a rough patch of form and he needs to be at a club that will persist with him. Then next year he can go to the Championship and see how it goes there. If he is a level headed lad he'll keep his feet on the ground and not get carried away thinking he's made it. To be honest he does look a better overall player than the likes of Campbell and Chopra who never made the grade. Better than Campbell for sure; Adam has much better touch and vision. Whether he could be better than Chopra is still uncertain. Chopra is a decent EPL player if he isn't ruined by gambling and personal problems. Things didn't turn out well for him but his ability was there.
