So far Mark Douglas is the most reliable one. May be they are told to keep the deal secret until it's completed (which is consistent with Douglas so far, just release the news a bit earlier than club official) but at this moment, if Douglas say it's fantasy, we better treat it as fantasy then.

I don't agree. We are just 2-3 players away from enough. Probably just a right back, striker and midfielder, and we still got 30m to spend. It is meaningless if we spend those money on 5-6 players now because we won't play them all as starter. We should target players that can definitely starting for us and so they are likely to cost a lot higher. Well, unless Carr can spot a few more bargains, but I really doubt that.

To be honest, wages are included. You know how Ashley do the calculations.

There's a question about Enrique's situation. Say, if he decided to stay and walk away for free next summer, and we failed to find a buyer, should we bring in a replacement now or next summer? M'Bengue is a good replacement, probably cost 8m or more, and there's no guarantee that such kinda replacement would be available next summer. If he is available now and Enrique's not going to stay, we should get him before we sold Enrique (if we can).

Right back is not our top priority. I would reserve 15m each for 1 striker and 1 left back. In case Enrique agrees to stay, those 15m would be used to invest in 1 more midfielder or right back. I am very pleased at what's going on so far.

He should be left, understudy of Jonas then. How about Shane then?
-
Yea, so, wait for the next "good news" then....

Midfielder Sylvain Marveaux, 25, has agreed terms to join Newcastle United on July 1 from Rennes, after signing a five-year-deal at St. James' Park. The former France Under 21 International joined Rennes as a 15-year-old in 2001, making his first team debut in 2006. Since then he has made over 100 appearances for Les Rouges, scoring 16 goals from attacking or left midfield roles. Manager Alan Pardew said:"It's a great coup to have signed Sylvain, who has received interest from a number of other clubs. He may not be well known to many of our fans but he is a real talent and a player we have been keeping an eye on for some time. It's been a good couple of days for us on the transfer front." I know I shouldn't complain much as it is for free and we are lack of back up wingers but...he failed Liverpool's medical yesterday I remember?
-
Fxxk, no. Isn't he suffer a serious injury last year and thus failed Liverpool's medical?
-
Get this done and we are 3 signings away from back to business. Still have about 30m to spend. Fxxking awesome.
-
He's got zero chance of playing for England now Kyle Walker is the next Glenn Johnson Kyle Walker is a left back right?
-
Better then just ignore the problem and sign him up.
-
Yea it's just normal for a young Geordie, just not appropriate for a footballer. But wait, he earned us 35m from Liverpool. I can't stop laughing then
-
Probably because it's impossible to find a buyer for Ameobi and Lovenkrands.
-
Would Ashley pay extra millions per year just for resolving those 2 months?
-
We should ask for more if Nolan can be sold for 4m.
-
That's the arguable point. I think Ashley/Pardew do think that Shameobi is good enough as our 3rd choice. And in any case, they may rely on Sameobi and Airey as our back up striker.
-
It does make sense if we are going to sign Ba and another forward. Still a gamble on Ba's injury proneness, but I can understand the rationale. Just that everything happens too fast to accept....
-
Simpson is a decent signing for 1m. Don't be too greedy man....
-
Good deal or Bad deal, all depends on the wages and whether there is a pay-as-you-play clause.
-
Bye Nolan, you will be warmly welcomed back as a guest at SJP.
-
30m and you can have him.
