We end our interest due to the signing of Marveaux or due to high fee demanded by Wigan?
-
Ok, good, at least there's some progress.
-
I am not feeling well for that announcement. If it's complete bollocks, why the club need to deny that? To me it looks like an invitation rather than a rejection.
-
Not too surprised to be honest. The question is just how much faith you have on Ashley's bargaining ability.
-
So they are forcing Naylor to drop the case. Well done muthafucka.
-
That said, I think the top clubs are kinda correct that they didn't rate Jose's defensive abilities and passing skills. His 1 on 1 defending is excellent but his positioning and awareness are quite poor imo. For me everything about his defending is absolutely fine, if not brilliant, except when he gets square on to his man and can't turn nimbly enough. When people try to beat him for pace he devours them, but there were a few cases last season when a tricky player skinned him just by dropping the shoulder and changing direction. Yup, that's why I said his 1 on 1 defending is excellent. He will not be outpaced or muscled out, will not concede header easily, and has an above-average tackling sense. The problem is that he is individually an excellent defender but is also a bad unit in a defense line, especially when trying an offside trap. That is widely criticized when he was still at Villarreal and I think he hasn't improved much in this area.
-
If he plays well, and got noticed by the top clubs, being offered a lucrative contract, why would he stay here? If he doesn't play well, he could still join those clubs by asking for lower wages. That's why in my opinion 'he's absolutely set on leaving no matter what", and we should sell him ASAP --- but unfortunately we can't find a buyer and he may not agree to move.

Oh aye, all the power is in his hands basically, that's what happens when a quality player reaches this point in their contract. TBF to him he has worked hard, played well, and earned himself this position. Including staying with us when we're relegated. That should be credited.
-
I remember we have had a bid around 6m rejected, and the club is asking for 10m. Probably that's too much for a backup and we would have to ensure Jose is leaving before we spend the cash.
-
Would you rather we had £5m or Jose for another season ? 5m. At least we could go for M'Bengue now. I'm afraid we cannot find a adequate replacement next season and stuck with Naylor/Kadar/Shane.
-
The fact that he is free to join ANY team next season means that he has no point to sign a new contract with us. Say if he just demand the same level of wages and willing to play as substitute at Real Madrid, I doubt Real Madrid will turn down the chance. The worst case we could have now is even if we find a club (e.g. Liverpool) that is willing to pay a few millions for him, he would still refuse to go and see out his contract like Barton. That's the best way for him, both for career and for money.

The question is when there is a 50m offer from Chelsea...
-
Pretty sure we have moved on already. We rarely go through the transfers with so many noises, with HBA the only exception.

He is not rated by Wolfsburg and that Turkish Club, even for free. Fxxk no please.

Is Mike Ashley the worst person ever to have been associated with NUFC?

Woodgate? Stephen Carr? Nicky Butt? Lee Bowyer? Carl Cort? Woodgate was a class purchase. Yup, that's a good one. The others were pure nightmare...I still remember how negatively I react re the Bowyer's transfer. -

My memory could be bad but, which top players SBR purchased are proven in EPL? I remember Bellamy was a failure in Coventry City as he couldn't replace Robbie Keane and Robert was from PSG? Dyer and Jenas were from Championship? -

I kinda agree with this but at the same time to push on to the next level it's a must to spend big cash on the best players, you can't break the top 4 without doing it. I agree, but still the price has to be 'reasonable'. Which top players you think are available at reasonable price? Henderson? Downing? Young? N'Zogbia is excluded because all the figures involved are just speculations. If Phil Jones and Ashley Young play help Man U keep the PL for another season and help push on in the CL I'm sure they'll be worth every penny of the money they have paid for them. Both yet to hit their prime but have talent to make it top notch in the next 2 years. Liverpool is a different story I'm not sure what they are doing other than spending top dollar on young players who might come good before the new rules come in to place. Maybe that's Ashleys plan all along. Hold on to cash till the new rules come in then only clubs breaking even with pots of cash can spend to progress. Nahh Your point is valid - to Man Utd Young and Phil Jones may worth the price. How about to us then? -

Dave. 9m transfer fees, 65k wages, all these are "assumptions". You are assuming that he is available at this price, but who knows the truth? I use historical fact that is available so far. The best example for you is Phil Jones because there is a clause triggered and therefore his price is the most reasonable one. We have tried for Gameiro, Gervinho and Erdinc. Why are you ignoring them then? -

On Saturdays the 12.45pm and 5.30pm matches are televised. Usually one of ESPN and one on Sky. Then I think two or three on Sundays... So only 1 match per timeslot? Most weekends, I think so. I see, terrible decision then. In HK all matches are televised (384 matches per season), which cost about 30 pounds per month.

Just a question, how many matches are on live per matchday in UK?

I don't see why the club has to pay for his bad decisions, he made them and he should pay for them. We want to have a good football club to support and watch, why should we wait year after year for him to claw back his cash that he gambled with in the first place? Good article that from TF, can't argue with it. Shepherd made the club pay for all his bad mistakes i.e. into more debt, while also taking a wage, bonus and dividends from the club over the years. This.
