  1. Exactly. Our best player is Ba. I want him to keep doing what he's been doing. Don't want to fanny about with him.
  2. Really? I dont think we NEED to change but i think it would be progression for the group and our brand of football will benefit from it in the long run. I'd want to see us give it a try when key players are back and see how it goes but i'd like to think that with a new FB in the summer the 4231 would be our starting tactic on the 1st day of next season. Davide had a total mare at Fulham with no protection and we all know about Backoff Danny. 4-2-3-1 is not progression but a total 360 in philosophy. Discipline, hard work and moments of quality from our players has got us this far so I see little point in changing. If we need to go for it, HBA & Guthrie should play in our 4-4-2. We could do with more carpet football i agree. But within a 4-4-2 most times.
  3. Our fullbacks are weak defensively. We create enough chances for a couple goals a game. No need for all this change.
  4. His lack of movement and general inviting of pressure drives me spare at times like. Even more so as he's just as good when running at people with a bit of pace. He's so strong when he needs to be (albeit he f***ed up for their goal today) He didn't really fuck up. He had nobody to pass too. Everyone just stood still and watched. Whole team switched off there.
  5. Yep. Industrious but actually offers something going forward.
  6. Our fullbacks aren't strong enough defensively for a 4-3-3. Simo and Davide need more help.
  7. FFS. He was at Liverpool before us and had a couple of loans. I'm really glad he's playing as he is. I did find it quite strange how last season was such a non-event for him, he'd been such a pivotal player in the promotion season and I wasn't with these people who said he wasn't a Premier League player. It looked like the Premiership was too fast, strong and athletic for him. Whereas you do get more time and space in the Championship. Danny has excellent technical ability, especially for a British midfielder. And this season he's worked on his conditioning and has shown for more desire for the game.
  8. Yeah we was getting over ran towards the end. For the chance one of there subs he, he passed the ball in front of Guthrie and ran way beyond Danny. Danny could barely turnaround. A mixture of a lack of defensive nous and the ongoing stamina issue. You never get that with Yohan. Danny's certainly a better attacking option but his lack of stamina is an issue. Will never be a real athlete but I hope he can improve in this area.
  9. Jonas put in a left footed cross for the Cisse goal today. Jonas will try a few left footed balls. Young Davide won't.
  10. Ireland. Bent. N'Zog & Keane caused us real problems. Him taking off 2 of them by the end must be :'( for their fans
  11. Today wasn't the game for Barfa. N'Zog always fancies it against us and he needed to either be marshalled or forced back through pace. Although one paced Raylor has a fantastic delivery on, let him put balls in the box and the strikers will score and we did. Pardew's done a superb job and the results have been excellent. Sometimes I wish some of our fans would stfu.
  12. Always thought Given was over-rated. Rarely came for crosses and would let it bounce in this 6 yard box.
  13. Yep. His fitness is a worry still. At home Guthrie's probably a better bet than Yohan on this display. Don't really agree with saying who's better. I think it would be great if we did it the same way Man Utd do it - rotating the players around. Cabaye, Tiote and Guthrie - on the form of recent - are on about the very same level and have their different strenghts and weaknesses. Guthrie's been more of a creative, architect like player this season. Although he tries hard, he just doesn't have the legs and bite of a Cabaye. Hence saying he's a better bet at home.
  14. He wasn't. He was on...then off.. then on... then off. Whilst gabriel was doing what Gabriel does.
  15. Yep. His fitness is a worry still. At home Guthrie's probably a better bet than Yohan on this display.
  16. You're not allowed to say that man. Yep. Can't lie I thought we needed someone to pick up there runners like a Gosling and crowd the midfield. What Shola did was even better., Use his physique very well there. Wasn't even a foul either.
  17. YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  18. Cabaye and Tiote offer so much strength, athleticism and defensive work that you just don't get with Guthrie.
