  1. 5 minutes into the second half....2-1....shocking.....absolutely shocking....
  2. 1-0. They were out-played by Ghana but Ghana lack potency.
  3. Aye. talk about misleading score lines. MoTM performance by the keeper. Both finalists have the best goalkeepers in the competition.
  4. Maybe because he isn't in Cappello's immediate plans.
  5. Shay Given take note. Relieve the pressure on the defence by claiming the ball.
  6. Aye. "Give it here pooftah, you don't know what you're doing."
  7. lol @ Jermaine Jenas scoring. Newcastle-Online in tears.
  8. We can't play slow possession football can we? The fans wont allow it.
  9. I simply don't agree. I don't want us to build a team around an injury-prone striker who has never 20 goals in the Premiership. Fact is.. he's been here 2 1/2 years and hasn't scored more than 15 goals in that time. It's been a waste of money and a bad signing thus far. Owen used to be able to run pass players. You think he could score a goal like he did against the Argies in 98 today? Could he even score a goal like the FA Cup winner against Arsenal? Most of his pace has gone.. you can clearly see it.. I don't need any "times" I can see it with my own 2 eyes. The pace is gone. He didn't score 3 goals.. he scored 1. Blah blah ref mistakes this, ref mistakes that only 1 counted. He has 3 for the season.... terrible. There is just too much effort involved with trying to accommodate this 16 goal season striker. Darren Bent would be more useful than Owen.
  10. That was when he was scoring 15-19 goals a season. He has 3 (in the league) for this year. Tbf that's poor.
  11. Anelka, Bent & Johnson have all scored bucket loads for struggling teams. the service is poor but he's had some chances that he should have scored. How many top class strikers are as dependant on "service" as Owen.
  12. He's scored as many goals as the Predator finisher that is Michael Owen. He's never been as shit as a lot of Newcastle fans make out. He's been a regular in a top 5 team for over 3 seasons. And ALL the managers he's worked under has rated him. SBR, the Scottish one, Jol, Ramos, Erikson & the ginger one
  13. Aye. Dyer is technically a good player. A good first touch, good pace, good movement and most of his passes found a team-mate. Attributes we sorely lack. We moaned about Dyer for 8 years but he's far better in midfield and upfront than Alan Smith. To be fair, he was crocked for something like 4 of those 8. Aye I was happy when we sold him because we got good money for him. But when we signed Smith it became a 1 forward 3 steps back situation. Why? Because Jenas has had a couple of good games recently for Spurs? He was utterly s*** for us and has been for most of his time at Spurs so let's not have everyone saying how much they loved him and pretending they never wanted him to leave. And just think, if everyone put as much effort into supporting these players when they were at the club, giving them a lift instead of knocking them down all the time, then they might have been able to fulfil there potential and they might still be here. FALSE How has Jenas been playing this season? In recent weeks he's really stood out but I don't seem to remember much else. He's seemed ever present when fit under Ramos, is this true?

  15. Aye. Shocking how he has received less stick than the likes of Parker, Jenas, Dyer etc.
  16. It's also hard to counter attack when you can barely pass the ball.. let alone with speed.
  17. sshh...don't let the facts get in the way of a good slagging. facts are, he's scored 3 league goals this season, 2 of which were headers. A similar tally to Lescott.
  18. Aye. He only seems to be capable of a few types of goals. When he scored those goals for England I thought that had changed but it hasn't. his heading is his best attribute these days.
  19. I was never a fan of Parker but Barton isn't any better from what i've seen.
  20. Jenas looks like part of a very slick, athletic team at Spurs. I always rated him when he was here, though he still can't finish. I fully agree. The upper half of the Premiership has many players similar to him. The sheer athleticism of the Jenas' and Muntari's would run our lot ragged. Jenas isn't particularly tall nor muscular and is still a bit of a pansy but he'd physically dominate Butt & Emre.
  21. Aye he was. I was on his case early on... and we've bought worse players to replace him.
