  1. And Ronaldo yesterday - f****** joke that Aye, all the debate over whether ours was a penalty or not, and a clear dive off Ronaldo ignored by the media. Aye, granted they were winning 3-1 but still a dive is a dive
  2. Inconsistency? He is anything but that. One decent game amongst a plethora of s**** ones suggests you are wrong. Best player on the park was Beye by the way. Again, I think people get fooled by a lovely stepover followed by an utterly s*** cross. The sitter he missed was indicative of his play. f*** knows how he managed that the biff. Don't get me wrong, he wasnt bad but some of the stuff here is mind blowingly over the top. Its a good job the bairns here didnt see Chrissy Waddle against Man City in 1983. There would be teen jizz all over monitors on Tyneside. That was a proper display from a true winger with ability (and anyone who reckons Waddler lacked pace clearly never saw him! ) This is the forum where members think Eboue isn't that fast.
  3. He'll always be a decent player. He likes to attack fullbacks but he lacks the pace to really terrorize them. He doesn't look up and place his crosses, he just runs and swings his foot in hope. He doesn't have Solano's eye for a pass/cross nor the technical ability to pull it off. I hope in time we could sign someone better.
  4. Aye and he hit it with some force. When he got it right he was brilliant. When you look at the attacking players we had during SBR's best spell, you could fancy us to beat any team on our day. Robert Shearer Bellamy 50 odd goals a season there. Speed Dyer Solano Jenas Likely to pop up and score a few as well. Always fancied Speed or Shearer to score from a corner or set-piece, Robert could put one in the top corner. For awhile with Dyer & Bellamy we looked like one of the fittest teams in the league. Ungrateful lot we were.
  5. Martins is probably the least of our problems striking wise. He doesn't get into very good positions and doesn't make good runs enough of the time. However i'm more worried with the striker who can't score. The other one who is old, slow and injury prone and the last who is injury prone, lacks pace and doesn't off the team as a whole much at all.
  6. We had hoped we would've replaced him with someone as talented but with a higher work ethic. His name is Damien Duff, except he's been knackered and shit.
  7. Criticism of Martins is yet another example of Newcastle fans thinking above their station. There's room for constructive criticism of every player - with Martins it often goes way beyond that. Just who the f*** do these idiots think is going to step in and replace him so easily at the click of a finger? Michael Owen of 2001
  8. Showed some awareness when he let the ball run through to Taylor. Definitely not "gash".
  9. He'll probably be our top scorer again this season.
  10. No. Oba is far from perfect but i'm so glad we bought him instead.
  11. Viduka is old. Owen is knackered. Smith can't score. Oba is far from complete.
  12. Agreed. For a while I thought we were playing 4-3-3 but it was a narrow 4 with Martins floating to the right.
  13. More mobile than Viduka but the FAB will get you more goals imo. true.
  14. The bigger problem for him is getting a game. How hard is it for a fullback to "adapt to the Premiership"? I reckon Sam doesn't fancy him very much n/h.
  15. Owen will never play 15 consecutive Premiership games ever again. Smith played very well and Martins had one of those games where his first touch was decent and his passing was consistent.
  16. And Vids will come on and score twice.
  17. I reckon Zog will get raped today.
  18. £23.8m. Interesting. And HTT. When comparing starts of a manager you don't just take the WDDWL as a guide as to how well they are doing. You have to compare the form of the team before the manager came in, their position in the league. The teams they've played etc. etc. Gary Megson has had DDDWL in his 5 Prem games. That's pretty s*** when you think about it but it's miles better than what they were doing before. They've also faced 2 top 4 teams and beaten one of them. The team also looks a lot better than before he took over. What do you take me for? Of course I didn't. I just wanted a general picture. Btw Sven is a fluke, his record is streets ahead of everyone else all things granted, takeovers, poor team, lots of new players, which I guess emphasizes what a great job he's doing. Although to start selling DVDs about... lol, I thought about pulling the "What About Sven Card". I'm tired. I'm going to see sleep.
  19. 6 points only puts you slightly behind 4th in the table today. 6 points in the season before Benitez took over for us would mean CL football. He only really had 2 bad results. They also had a spirited victory over Arsenal and progressed in the Champions League. 2 years down the line.. the juries still out on Rafa really. Oh yeah.. if Sam won the FA Cup with us, we'd give him a looooong time to get it right.

And that second bit was probably true after Allardyce's first 5 Prem games 2W, 2D, 1L... which was the best start we'd had to a season for over 5 years. Sort it out, man. After the next 10 games we've been left thinking "what the fuck is HE thinking?".
  21. When did they take over Pompey and Blackburn? Hughes was appointed after the transfer window had closed. Blackburn were lying in the relegation zone when he took over. Harry had about half of his original team at Pompey and took over around Novemberish with his team also in a relegation battle. Sam had a summer to buy his own players, they didn't. Has Hughes spent £25million in his whole time at Blackburn? You're quick to forget just how f****** rotten this club was before Allardyce/Mort/Ashley, which is really disappointing. I'd bet that Allardyce has had to do a hell of a lot more in his brief time here than either Redknapp or Hughes at their respective clubs because of how far behind everything else we were when he took over. Erm... Hughes & Redknapp took over their teams whilst they were within the bottom 3 and the transfer window was closed. Whilst Redknapp had a take-over to look forward to Hughes had no real funds and a pretty shit team. He got them dirty and hard-to-beat. They never had a summer and £25million. I'd say Mort & Ashley taking over has come to the detriment of Big Sam.
